I still don't understand why there is no aftermarket for these engines. They are in this configuration in the journeys and other minivans as well. You can get superchargers and everything for the 3.6 when forward mounted like in the chargers challengers rams and durangos. I still say a supercharged 3.6 journey would be a ripper, and the customers are out there, but there is 0 aftermarket.
That really is a lot of stuff going on there. I like vans but like my 90’ suburban more. Although swapping the torque converter in that 4×4 monster gave me pause. The channel is awesome ray!
We have 4 of these. They are complete junk. The problem is the boss loves the lights up top. I feel badly for the guys who have to drive them because they’re always in the shop for engine cooling, a/c issues, leaking oil, etc.
No one in my market will work on them, either. Really awesome for the one dealer an hour away. Something about a come back being a green back.
Wow…I had no idea that they are selling the "Fiat Ducato" converted to a V6 Gas Hog in the US…Why are they still using Gas engines for commercial Vehicles ? I bet the European Version with the 2,8 Common Rail Diesel has a better gas milage by 100% !
Please Ray, more videos showing how much work and time goes into fixing today's vehicles! I keep telling people if the manufacturer had they're way if you blew out a headlight throw the vehicle in the recycling and go back to the dealership and buy another one! Today's vehicles were not designed to be fixed period!
thanks for the very interesting video it just shows how things have changed from Mr Fords day when you could have any colour you wanted as long as it was black ,at least on that van you can take the front off to get to the engine CLICK
I was just going to seek your opinion today" Really …." of the Penstar , Ford Transit 3.5 liter V-6 Turbo and non turbo, and the Mercedes 3.0 liter V-6 engines , Which of the 3 would you recommend for the best reliability and cost of maintaining in a small RV ? This video didnt help the Dodge ? BTW next year 2023 Dodge is fazing out the V6 and going with a TwinTurbo 4 CYL in Sprinters
If it's of any interest. The van you call RAM promaster. Is actually a mainly European construction. Sold over here as Fiat, Peugeot and Citroen. But almost always with a four cylinder turbo diesel engine. The 3.6 liter v6 seem to be a RAM construction.
Have u herd of the oil shortage for big trucks and cars and gmc 1500 o w20 synthetic I even 3 weeks ago had a hard time finding oil for the truck and my car for the synthetic o w 20
Looks like a Fiat engine. Ultra reliable Italian engine
Toots and Boom.
Guess that’s what they get for putting a 3.6 in a 2500
Dodge junk. 3.6 is the worst rated. v6
We have replaced so many engines in our Dodge fleet vehicles ot actually ridiculous
Fiat junk 4 timing chains variable speed oil pump Way too many parts to break. No wonder it blew up.
Ray you should be doing the big jobs 😳🤣✌️🍺🇺🇸
The newer style engines are junk over designed
A lot of time could be saved if the engine was supplied as a complete long block with fewer transfer parts, unless applications are really different.
Ahh yes.. the glorified Fiat/Citroen/Peugeot/Dodge….

Mr Ford would have a fit, keep it simple and keep it standard.
Something tells me there will be some left over nuts and bolts 😂
Dodge? It is just shitty Fiat Ducato with big V6.
The carnage is real..!!! WOW
cool
You would have to give me a million dollars to do that kind of Labor

I didn't realize these big vans are front wheel drive.

4 chains 🤣😂 Why not 10?!?! theres still room for useless crap
I’m just happy to finally see something that Ray doesn’t know what it’s for
Always up for an afternoon quickie.
Thanks for posting.
Set it on fire and let them get a newer van. Too much technology there.
Chrysler clusterfuck
I love my van's . 1978 Dodge Trans-van ,, 360 motor, 727 transmission and a 1976 Dodge 360 motor 727 transmission.
Still playing zombie song on radio. You can usually set watch by radio based on the song or ad playing…… SMH
Did the new engine fail while it was waiting to go in?
As van engine work goes, that looks like the least "van" experience possible! Looks very accessible. Much nicer than old-fashioned Detroit vans.
4 timing chains seems excessive .. wow.
Dont forget your pocket screwdriver on the block.Seen many radiators poked hole in from sticking under hood .

I'm not a fan of those rebadged fiat vans. Ugly and unreliable

Bang the original 2.0 HDi in it! 🙂
That's what Citroen did! 🙂
hey bud what are the labor hours with transfer of parts? I recently did a Ford Transit transmission it was ridiculous
Is it a Amazon van?
That's a lot of work, that's going to cost at least $100..
You got a Toyota?
Did you call it Dodge blow master?
Did somebody's dad buy the Engineering Degree Final test answers and give them to his son???

Cheap, cheap, cheap! Make 'em cheap!
It's a little disconcerting that there are parts, nuts and bolts scattered all over the floor?
More junk from Amercan car manufacturers.
No exhaust manifold it makes it easier to turbo charge it
