Sometimes the solutions are beyond simple for such smaller spills. Dustpan and brush. Sweep oilshake into pan, drain into second oil caddy. Repeat. Throw dustpan and brush away and don't clean with enough brake cleaner to melt the polar ice cap for an area the size of Ohio. Keep on trying to scoop it up until there's really no more left to scoop.
Former oil refinery worker here. I've seen a spill or two that's at least the size of the complex that your shop is housed upon. We used bigger brushes and pans… Scoop, scoop, scoop, then dab, dab, dab with the rags.
Putting the rags in when there are puddles just adds to the mess. Some seagull on a landfill thinks it's going to get a free banana milkshake but instead will be dying from stomach hemorrhaging and cancer…

Pro Tip: when you're having a problem with any kind of oil draining too fast, a good idea is to put the drain plug back in real quick. 🤦♂️😂

Aww man you have not learned yet? Big oil messed get wd 40 cheap and thins it way out making for easy clean up then use the brake clean for the final clean 👌

My old mechanical engineering Uni lecturer called that gloop created by coolant and engine oil mixing in a pressurised, heated environment mayonnaise. Absolutely foul mess.
