For a country without any real healthcare and noone wearing steeltip shoes. Brave and dumb.
Torx is pretty much designed to strip out. The person who designed it hated the world and wanted people to suffer.
Total ripoff, we didn't get to see fluids pouring.
I see so many ABS lites on, in almost new vehicles, why is this ?
If you can remember, try to mention how to tell if an ABS sencer is bad or not, without a computer ( shadytree style )
Great job Ray
Ray. So sorry to hear you have bum thumb
Somebody’s mom
Why didn't you swap the rotors from the damaged rear onto the replacement rear??
Looks like the diff got creampied.
i like how all three of them lifted with their backs.
That torque wrench gave you "BEND"s
I use a 12 volt gear oil pump. Much easier.
RAYMOND!!! WTF man former mech here dude i have to say im saddened by the lack of cross torque on the cover.. you should know better.. btw still actively work on our cars/suvs/truck's regularly.. funny though wife and i got a truck had to replace both front calipers such a sad day forgetting that calipers can seize as well
AxleUally
Heh that's what she said
great to see the workings inside an axle and replacement ,would have liked to have seen axle looking nice and shiny with new paint but it was probably not worth the extra cost, have a great day ,Ray
I have done that several times, from one ton, three quarter and half ton, broken pinions, had the pin that retains the spider gears walk out on me, was hauling a load of rock, was a full floater so I pulled the axle shafts and towed it home. Twice I've had the pinion start wobbling, ends up removing a chunk from the pinion, one was a chevy 10 bolt other a Dana 44 in a Jeep. I was rough on my vehicles when I was younger.
Which you rather do ,,,leafspring or coil. !
Less miles, but all of them were at the bottom of the ocean judging by the rust.
Damn she’s messy lol
hey folks remember that DIY, brake kit where you glued abrasive pads on your worn brakes to resurface the rotors, some clowns didnt replace the pads
Hey Ray U the man, That was a great job as always. Hope your thumb heals very soon. Keep the great vids coming. 🙂
omg ive done exactly that. and yes, the bottle exploded and covered me with atf.
Awesome job Ray.
The unfortunate part about junkyard parts: rust.
Wouldn’t it have been easier to check the innard’s before you installed it? Cheaper too if there was a problem.
Do you have a link or name I can "google" of those great magnetic, battery powered lights that resemble a cell phone you use?
Washer gravity!
Once encountered a Ford vehicle with no oil plug on the cover, or the front of the differential. Very strange. There had been a swap, and the first diff had the drain plug on the front of the diff body. The replacement diff had come from an axle with the oil plug on the cover. Mix and match .
Did the vehicle have to be moved out of the bay while you were waiting for another axle?. If so, what did it take to move it?
I made comment on engine vs motor. I'm wrong engine makes power internally. Motors have external power supply. Engine is gas or fuel. Motor is air, hydraulic, electric. I only think steam is engine is because of piston valve system.?
Rays outfit.Its not pants,too long for shorts,……..shants?????
Those sensor orings hate you for what you did to them!😥
Mr. O is going to copyright strike you for the brakleen sound!
I enjoy watching your videos. But, I don't like the fram products you use. fram products is the worse.
Ray i reckon i would have pulled the diff cover off before it got near the car mate or you might have to pull it back out ???
$5 says he looked on Youtube to find out how to remove a rusty speed sensor bolt on a GMC Savanna 1500. Any takers?
Maybe it's just me, but apart from surface rust the rotors that came with the Diff looked in better condition so I would have used them, the pads would quickly bed in.
Wouldn't it have been simpler to use the ABS sensors that came with the Diff and just plug in the other end of the cable?
Damn, I should call her.
How come you dont have a 5 gal bucket or hand-held gear oil pump in stead of this Micky Mouse apparatus????
never cut ty raps off , twist them off , you just left 2 plastic razor blades there for the next unsuspecting mechanic
you sure get some beater vehicles come thru. Also I would be embarrassed bringing a filthy vehicles with garbage all over the floor and seats in to get fixed. Piggies
did you just do a SMA reference ROFL
