Why didn't you clean the batt. tray??

You can tell the customer a million times what is wrong and they'll always try the cheep route.
The reason that air filter is still good, is with the box not "snapped", all the dirty air went around the filter and into the engine.
I though of hatchback Yaris, but this is a Sedan Yaris aka Vios 2006. Why
Seeing you removing that alternator reminded me of a wise mechanic's quote: "Everything is in the way of everything".😉
Seems legit, change the battery and the alternator magically becomes unbroken! Customers are dumb.
I think Toyota really missed a bet with these cars. With a bit more power, a stick, and some better tires and suspension tuning I bet they would be a blast to drive. Instead Toyota put their talented engineers to work making sure every bit of possible fun was engineered out of this transportation appliance.
I'm a Toyota guy, but the dash in that car is stupid.
All I did on my alternator was just replace the brushes And sanded down the contact points on the stater Save me a couple 100 bucks 07 yaris
how much it costs for all of that?
I hate when customers want me to diagnose and don't believe me when I tell them what's wrong. You came to me and I'm just doing my job. You want to waste money and I advised against it. That's on you.
Are you sure you changed the pcv valve, it looked like you changed a flux capacitor. The Germans are showing off, I'm thinking Hindenberg again. 🤔
love all of your vids nator is now nating priceless
air filter clip was off when the hood was closed
I notice that they put a open area under the battery hold down clamp. Beautiful engineering👍
And tell the kind folks why you disconnect the negative first instead of the positive..
One thing great about customer wanting a new battery while unnecessary ,rest of the world get to know America's battery brand…of course it had to be " die hard':-) -in south Africa we get ,Sabbath ,Dixon,
Design and fail
From Australia: Ray concerned for your welfare! When you clean battery terminals (You Fettish) please tell me you don't breath in the corrosion from your steel brush? Can't sleep at night worrying about you!
Got my car fix there 2 weeks ago.I need a refund ray.
Well I for one, am VERY surprised that the battery did not fix the alternator problem!!
😂😂
Battery supplied by Hans Gruber
I pray 🙏 god give them knowledge to let you fix car
The only thing I might have done as well would be to remove those white paper stickers with the barcodes on. Both are partly covering vent holes plus they can very slightly reduce heat dissipation. Nothing major, just extra little touches that make very little difference but, do make some difference.
Meh. Low-mileage unit. I have almost 200k on my 2014 Yaris SE, and my buddy has almost the same mileage on his 2006-ish model.
RAY , WHY DOESNT YOUR BOSS REPLAY ALL THE TESTS YOU DID TO PROVE ITS THE ALTERNATOR .I WOULD BE WITH CUSTOMER TOO UNTIL THAT TESTING,THERES SOMETHING STUPID THAT YOU NEED A SALES GUY AFTER SEEING THIS ,HE SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SELL HIM A BATTERY . WHAT IS THAT SALESMAN SHOWING BY PUTTING IN PARTS HE KNOWS YOU DONT NEED?? IMMORAL.
Bloodhound Gang, Cake and Wax Fang all in the same video. Seriously, I could hang out with this feller. Ive never heard anyone else ever listen to Wax Fang.
My one girlfriend had a Yaris back in the day, she had a problem with falling asleep at the wheel, put it into a ditch twice, you couldn't kill it though. I'm sure it'd still be running if she didn't end up totaling it
I was informed by a mr, Kilmer that it’s Mazda who makes this auto not Toyota, mr, Kilmer is normally correct but Mazda makes ok cars as well
Looks like you forgot one fastener on the air filter box
That is one strange radio station in the background, especially for south Florida
Great to hear Ozzy in the background!
Love the vocabulary and original expressions of one of a kind communication phrases generated just for us viewer's. That's the main reason I watch, ohh I learn something occasionally too! Just saying 😂
You didn't put the a/c bracket nut on
"Alright so I informed the customer of the problem and they'd like to completely ignore me so that's what we're doing now"
Excellent stuff Ray.
Did you open the hood again and reset the rear airfilter box catch that was floating around unclipped at the end…………😆
10/10 flat hand pushes are the best way to save them knuckles and fingers. One of the first things I learned in the oil field.
The videos are great 👍
I own a 2012 Yaris SE and it has the exact same engine as this 2006. Those bottom alternator bolts are super tight from the factory. I think they hired Arnold Schwarzenegger to put those things in.
Thought to myself; replace the battery rather than replace the alternator? You're gonna spend more on a battery, surely (really quick Google search suggests "very similar price" here with the UK tax)… Then realised that would be "parts only". Alternator replacement would almost certainly take longer than replacing a battery. YAGV Ray, if I were in the US (Florida?) and didn't own a BEV, I'd be eternally happy to have you work on my car.
My experience with modern batteries is that one they have been run flat, they die very soon afterwards. So replacing the battery might have been a good idea anyway.
You mean that the new battery didn't fix the alternator? Maybe if you top off the tire pressure it would fix it!
I really hate when my alternator is not manufacturing angry pixies.
Yep yep done this job a few times on my yaris, regular ol wrenches are good enough but ratcheting wrenches make this job a breeze. Unfortunately you'll be down there often fiddling if you hate belt squeaking. Needs a adjustable tensioner
Humptey dance first tune , nice!!
That looks like a rebuilt alternator. I never use rebuilt parts. I only use new OEM parts even if they cost more.
I wish you would do follow ups on cars that were sent back to the dealership or what ever case in point is the ford car that had very bad engine noise did the dealership stand behind it or was the owner left out in the cold
