any clue on what would cause coolant to leak but the system holds pressure (new rad and hoses)
We need some lube here. It's going in dry, it's not gonna work.
Shove that in there… more… not in deep enough, it's gotta go all the way to the rim.
I can't get two hands on it…
Things she never said.
What's the make and model number of the pliers used to remove the hose clamp/barb? They look so much better than needle nose pliers!
Question: if the plastic coupler is toast, wouldn't it be fair to say that it might also be time to replace the hoses too or do you just check for how pliable to hose is and only replace if it looks aged/cracked?
My Mom has a 2004 Infiniti FX45. She got the car Given to her. I've replaced a Pulley, Radiator… Now planning on replacing the Power Steering Hoses. and seeing how hard it would be to pull the rack out, Cause Infiniti wants 3500 to replace the power Steering Hoses and Rack…. It's got 265K on it, but the engine is still strong. Doesn't use oil. I don't have a lift to look under it. To see what I can do. All I have is a drive way and floor jack and stands…
I wonder ? ? do you beleive inn different cooler liquid for Asian, American or European car ? ?
I have found twisting the hose a little will usually break it free from those nipples as long as you got something to hold onto. That broken off piece looked like a pain just from an access point of view. I can tell your stretching to get back there.
This may be dumb question. I drive semi truck , we use red coolant . Why is green coolant used in cars?
i know exactly what happen and that 1.4Bar radiator cap is the reasion why the hose poped and will contunine to cause problems
oem is 1.1Bar cap.
Snap on needs memory foam for laying on engine bays 😀😂
Wouldn't lubing up the plastic pipe also decrease the surface tension (adhesion?!), even with the clamp on?
i would have changed clamps as soon as old one's were off
I like geometry in my tires
A piece of that hard plastic you were pulling out of those….falling into the hose and getting into the cooling system wouldnt harm the radiator a month or so down the road would it? Asking for a friend?
.
1 it could be a thermostat to
Ray, just had the same style barb break in the same way in my F150 about a year ago. It's much easier to get the pieces out by putting a pair of channel locks on the outside of hose at the inside end of the barb. Give a slight squeeze and wiggle left to right. It'll move like an eighth an inch and you slide up the hose and do it again. Once I figured that out, it took me about a minute to get out all out in one piece.
🤣🤣 its not in deep enough ha ha
thays what she said 🤣🤣
Next time aim the hose downwards and with the plier squeeze the broken pieces just make sure nothing stays back
"That's what she said" at least 5 times….
I use a threading tap to screw into the broken plastic barb nipple, then pull the barb out of the hose.
Those are some bad rims but nothing compared to the giant rims on a Crown Vic in my neighborhood. They are comically large and I need to take a picture for everyone to see.
I was wondering how long you would struggle with those stupid clamps before using the worm gear one
tape lower hose to keep clamp from fall way down
I miss doing my own auto repairs, and then again I don't!
Is there a part 2 video?
Your pliers go: Yummie plastic!
Hey Raiman. You probably did a worst mistake. You should put the yellow rod in the funnel. Engine was overheating becouse there was no pressure flowing and the loop was not going to pressurise. Hydraulic loop with pump has to be sealed. At least you didn’t show putting the yellow sealer rod – this much of wather in the funnel didn’t sealed the loop properly.
Maybe that was the original problem and they just said the owner needed a radiator.
When you have broken plastic nipples in rubber hoses like that, angle the opening of the hose down and use some channel locks to squeeze the hose until it shatters, then just extract the pieces while the hose is facing down. Fastest and easiest way to do that
Good find dude I thought you were going to have to pressure test it. I was cheering when you chose the screw type clamps.👍
I hate those clamps. Always replace with regular hose clamps.
Heat gun might have helped on the second broken piece. warm it up good then pull on the recessed plastic piece with a 90 degree pick.
Loved dumping the junk you tweezed out back on the engine bay. Awesome
Title to this channel should be "HOW TO DO THINGS RIGHT" The main difference between you and me is you did not leave any skin in that little spot, I firmly believe that some blood letting is necessary for such a job.
I would have positioned the tube downward, and taken some channel locks, and crushed the plastic in the tube and just dump peices out…but then again I can't see what he is working with 100 to even see if there is room for that
That plastic coupling broke due to age. Most likely when it ran hot after that coupling broke it hurt the headgasket.
so…. many…. that's what she said jokes….
I always check with pressure tester if there is air in the system you gauge won't move immediately but if it'd full it will rapidly build with the first pump. Also testing when hot and you can see if pressure keeps building
the plastic hose barb is a stupid design
I own this vehicle – rather one just like it. Proper coolant bleeding is to elevate the front of the vehicle, open the air relief plug found next to the battery box, turn heater on, use the coolant funnel – if you have one – and fill till coolant escapes the relief plug – then top off.
In the past, I have used external snap ring pliers.
That’s what she said ! Lol
Renault has well and truly destroyed Nissan/Infiniti.
BEST funnel ever!
The guy in the shop singing set it off is awesome
that heater hose coupler is WELL KNOWN in nissan 3.5 and 3.7 for doing exactly what it did. and a true PITA to replace for your avg garage guy
Should've screwed a large bolt into it
If you keep a piece of cardboard that will cover the engine and lay on that first it will help things from piercing your chest and keeping the pain away. Unless you like pain, haha. Stow the cardboard behind your tool chest or some other flat place (tool bench, file cabinet, etc.) Then you will always have it handy.
