Just swapped a 34 sized 3 year warranty diehard after 9 months of service. It had to be jump started everyday for 2 weeks before replacing with another battery in the garage. Some no name PVF or something. Been working great for a month. No longer a fan of diehards. Yes one bad apple… But 190 of my bucks, and no receipt so they wouldn't honor the warranty. Can't remember where I got it either. I know it was advance, but they can't find anything. Pretty rediculous considering the date code is on the battery. I'll stick with my Walmart everstarts from now on. No receipt, walk in and replace because of date codes.
Should always use fender covers!! Should have cleaned battery tray and used rust killer. I won't let techs work on any of my cars without fender covers and floor protection. Think about it
Ray take your ring off when working on the battery power area. A short across your ring could cause you to lose a finger. Safety, safety, safety. I really enjoy your videos.
Just me, or the late 90s early 2000s tunes on some 80s 90s and 2000s rooooooccckkkk FM station in the background while working on a GM truck the perfect combo?
I think I would have sprayed the battery tray bolts up if I was in there, or if it was mine I might try to take them out and antizieze them knowing how hard they can be to take out when itโs only a small part of a bigger job
My 01 Sierra 1500 with a 4.8 V8 literally couldn't go 550 km without needing a fuel up half way and then 4 5 gallon gas cans hahaha, a 4×4 with that motor was over torqued
Great video Ray…as always. Makes no difference which heater hose goes to which inlet/outlet. The heater core is simply a flow-through core…like the big radiator. But…you knew that. Keep the great videos coming!
Odometer 666 confirmed evil. Your right about in any order something goes wrong. My Cruze was hit in 2019 ODO was 114666 at inpact. My 2013 corolla was hit by a DUI and ODO at inpact was 66692 .
Great job, Ray. Love to see work done properly. Now time to head out on my 32 year old, 387,000 mile 4 banger and run errands. Have to say, the coolant stays full and I don't even need to add oil between changes. Ah, the joys of a Red Block. LOL
I think the danger of using a power wrench to take up the slack is a power wrench can run too fast and clamp down on your finger. You seemed to have it in control so no blood no foul. lol ๐
Dangerous things make us feel alive Risk vs reward. Fingers vs time. Make a game like mumbly peg with hose clamps and impacts Instead of hunting bears with bows
Again, I wonder why the battery tray was not cleaned and sealed before the battery was installed? Ever replace the 'by-pass' hose on a Pontiac 389 or 421?
Everything you do just convinces me that I have to drive 2000 miles just to get my oil changed. This point I know I can't trust anybody else but you. Well other than myself but I don't have all the equipment you do LOL
If I was in FL I'd request to be an apprentice!
Show off.

*Who shoots a bear with a bow and arrow?*
Injuns…
I saw rust under that battery , man's worst enemy …. what did Ray do about it ????
Why don't you get the coolant delivered like the trans fluid or oils?
"Get the tip down on the backside and slip it in"? Can you do that on youtube?
Can we see that phone pocket video on a super secret unpublished upload? We can pretend we came along with you to work and were hiding in your pocket.
Loud noise Gawd

so where are the "Flashlight Gravity!" coffee mugs and t-shirts.
It's dangerous because if you have the direction set the wrong way you'll tighten it and cut your finger off.
Tightening a hose clamp on your finger is a bad idea because if the drive were in Forward motion it would break your finger
Living in a northern hemisphere, antifreeze is mandatory for its intended purpose. But, is it truly necessary in the southern regions like Florida?

always hated those side-terminal batteries!
Those hose clamps are garbage bc it doesnโt expand and contract like the oem ones do!

just the tip in the backside…..lol

That seems to be the same egr valve as the ford 6.0 power stroke
Did I miss Ray do the checkith of the alternatorith thingy for outputith?
Having that clamp catch while using that driver could be mighty ugly on the finger!
Interesting).

Yes I know the hose clamp thing also I know why not to work with a ring on while around a battery.
Wouldn't want a CLICK on your finger, hard to REVERSE CLICK. LOL. Always love watching the vids, make it look easy.
Gotta admit, idk why you think the clamp is dangerous. Please enlighten.

Hey,
Are you near st. Petersburg?
That Y connector GM hose is ridonkulously expensive. Like almost $200.00 where I live.
Whatโs a good code reader for dodge diesel pickups mine an 06 3500

Always enjoy the background music. Whoever sets the playlist deserves a compliment
The tech that came over talking to you sounded a hell of a lot like scanner danners brother.
Also with the hose picks, I sometimes use a plates set on open jaw to carefully twist the hose on the nipple to brake it loose.
Why not just use hose clamps on the hose and limit coolant loss?
