Where did you get that stud cleaner and Polisher? I can't seem to find one.
I can't believe how effortlessly the retaining clips, caliper pins, caliper bolts, etc, came off of this car. I did this exact same job on my car a few years ago. Only problem – I'm from the northeast… rust….
But REEE I thought u didn't reuse pins 🤔. Lol jk 😂
Refreshing to see a G that hasn’t been riced out
😉
Look at the shock rubber bottom on the driver rear. Looks like the bushing is gone which would cause a wobble on braking.
These New Rotors and Pads for this Infinity probably Cost more than my first car-a 1954 Chevy Belaire Sport Coupe–$375….
Years ago coming down a steep mtn. in Tenn, during a rain shower warped the rotors on my new impala-the rotors were hot from heavy braking and shower of water on them was not good…
Ray I have watched you do several break jobs and I have noticed that you never use break quiet grease on the back of the pads or on the slides. I am wondering why?
what model pliers are they
Your "Linear Impact Driver" is also a Precision Percussion Adjusting Instrument.
can we take a vote on whether or not Ray should rename a Patron tier "Nice & Shiny"
You boys DON'T have a lathe in the shop!?
The rotors are not directional on the G37, they use straight vein rotors, they can go on whichever way you choose. The stickers are on some aftermarket rotors for consistency when installing, so you don't have the slots going 2 different directions on one side. Some manufacturers actually state this as well.
When Kid Rock is play, don't talk.
Is oem blinker fluid that much better than Dorman?
Love the double break cleaner cans the same time. I hope you have stock in break clearer so you can get a cut from how much you use… LOL
Wide, wide, world of auto mechanics,
I tend to take the pads out and spread the pistons back with a spreader while the caliper is off for these fixed ones
At last we actually see some real examples of Cotter pins, that's the proper description of the small ones that lock in the brake pad retaining bars, the other things you guys call cotter pins are split pins; yes I'm old and from the UK.
If you weren't changing the rotors, that would be a really easy brake change
Wow, Ray is actually using brake clean on brakes 🙂
For drum-style rear emergency brakes, like on that Infiniti, do you have to adjust the emergency brake pads when installing a new rotor?
Thanks for the video!
replacing low quality rotors with low quality rotors should fix the problem
Great vids man definitely one of the best content creators
Shame, looked like plenty of life left in the old pads.
You know we all said it when the flashlight fell!!!!
Rammstien playing in the background nice
I feel like you own stock in brake cleaner
Thank you. Rotor warping is not a thing in passenger cars. They just plain don't get hot enough
"Can't see, so I'm just kind of feeling around for the hole…" 🤣
I didn't know that Akabono made calipers for Infinity – interesting.
My sons car is a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, what do you recommend for brake pads and rotors, looking to do all four corners? Thanks in advance.
Are thay USA label on the disks? I would assume that if they are imported parts, the labels would be for RHD cars, so maybe, just maybe, you installed them on the wrong sides.
I am positive that you will have verified all that though, so I am just wasting pixels with this lol.
Blinker fluid 🤔
I’m mad at you you did not say your word when you dropped the light
What did that box ever do to you lmao
Everyone knows blinker fluid needs to be refilled every 30k miles
Infinity has tight tolerances on run-out. I'm having the same issue. Bought new rotors on eBay and it got worse so I just threw the old rotors back on. Either going to have the new rotors turned or buy another new set! 🥺
What the hell is going on with YT? I've watched this video (the whole video) and gave it a thumbs up shortly after you published it and YT keeps pushing it to the top of the suggestions with the "New" logo like I've never watched it before. It's starting to get very annoying!
What? Florida rust? Amazing 😁👍🙂🤣
Those Powerstop rotors should do well here, I put them on my car to solve rotor pulsation issues which kept happening with standard rotors and no issues so far, over a year.
I noticed there was no lubrication added to pads or pins on this application. (I also noticed that these brakes were extremely clean.) i have replaced these types of braking systems (non-floating) a few times and i always used lube in the same manor i would use on floating caliper systems. Does this sytem not require it? If so, why? Also, i have yet to come across a tool designed for compressing non-floating caliper pistons. I have always used a similar way as ray to get it done. Does anyone know of a tool design for these? Thanks frenz.
Anyone know what that round digital dial is that is on the dash above the center left vent?
Readout was like 199-206.
Thanks
Haven’t seen video yet and I bet they didn’t replace the rotors the last time.
Wait, did you reuse those cotter pin clips? 😉
Thanks for reminding me, i need to refill my blinker fluid.
whoever had music privileges today has good taste
Flashlight gravity
Ray, FYI, they have come to the conclusion that Hands @ 10 n 2 was fine with seat belts. But with the Air Bags, their idea has lowered to 7 n 4. where it pushes your arms down to your lap and not over your head.
