Wow! Never knew who you were until today, you and Rich at many others. I saw you and Rich described in a book I am reading "12 Rules For Life An Antidote to Caos" by Jordan B Peterson, not you and him personally but as Human Beings. Now we see you have another talent, the talent of telling a story that touches deep.

That's not a story, that's one hell of a journey! I respect your drive to do the best of everything, your drive to better what ever comes your way at any cost! To those that think im referring to money, you're sadly mistaken. There's no amount of money that could ever amount to the heart an soul of these individuals! Thank you for sharing what most people are shamed to acknowledge. I wish people these days could be and understand what it's like to be that broken and pick yourself back up to do the best we truly can to make this world a better place and to show honesty to others instead of trying to get rich off them! This my friends is a dying breed that this world definitely needs now more than ever, thank you gentlemen!

Wow, I can't thank you enough for sharing this story.

I'm writing a book soon to be published. Subject: about peoples real value and worth. Compared to how culture, society and our own minds see this value.

    Title: The Value Message.

Topics include: Abuse, self-harm, differences, self-awareness, direction, hope.

I ache to hear the pain of stories like this. Kids especially that never hear a message about their value for most or all of their life. My book is a message to people that hurt like this. Blows my mind that your video came to me at the exact right time to keep me on course.

Your story and and video is an incredible message to people. It's inspiring and powerful. The walk and talk in the woods is shear genius. So grateful.

Man you guys are awesome. I can hold my own pretty good as a diy mechanic, but I have so much more to learn. Reflecting back on my past I realize I have done nothing compared to others. I hear older guys talk and they have all these cool stories about work or things they experience through life. All I have ever done was graduate high school and put in 17yrs at my current job.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Manuel Mendonca says:

My god your story sounds so much like mine, suffering in the beginning then using your natural skill to be a self made man and excel in life..

I’ve also lived similar life situations and gone down addiction rd and recovery
Life’s always going up and down
It takes so long to build up and yet takes so little to loose everything and start over…took a while to realize I wouldn’t get hired just based on knowledge alone..so working on my certifications to become a auto Machanic so that way I can stabilize my future jobs/income by having the certifications..
Cuz I’m sick of having to start over every few years due to failed relationships or lay offs or failed jobs..

In NY State it is rather hard to get the child from the mother being a grandparent. Even though you know there is an issue between the child and the step person and mom that are involved.
Hopefully my grandson can be stronger when he gets to be an adult and be caring for himself and others.

My hat is off to both Ray and to Rich. Both have prospered despite adversity and are highly respected and help others in so many ways including those who are currently where you were in your darkest hours

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Not J says:

Yea, I used to watch his channel a lot. Then he turned into a major douche nozzle, near terrorist anti-American. Didn't watch anything after that.
A tough past doesn't forgive that. To me it matters what you were AND what you currently are.

I really have to say thank you for this story. This is something I needed to help me keep pushing. I going to automotive school as well as working at night and I was thinking of giving up on one of them. This story just gave me even more of a drive to keep pushing through.

For me, I feel gratification if I help a friend or neighbor or someone in need. Many jobs I do are unpaid, but the reward to me is that I helped someone. I did a clutch for a neighbor of mine. He's a struggling security guard. I told him to help me buy the parts and I'll do the work for him. After 3 days of greasy, back breaking work in his driveway, he was back on the road. I was happy I could help him, that's good enough for me.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bob Clark says:

I can only say…Amen. Be blessed. Thanks for sharing.

ya might not have wanted to jusr say over youtube that another youtuber narked out some people who were pretty high up in the drug business.. in jail or not people have ways of getting revenge and tend to hold onto grudges when your locked up with nothing else to think about..

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars CatFriGames says:

I believe boss man me has a new sub with me. You sir are a great storyteller. Made me so proud of him and I don't even know him.through you I felt like I did.

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A S says:

You both are just emotional bums.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Duzan says:

But Ray, you know what I found out which is when you do flat rate you don't have time to give a shit about customer service. That's a big reason why the public doesn't trust us.
A truly powerful story of someone scratching their way out of a horrific environment and becoming an honorable man. I give him all admiration and respect. Thank you for sharing and inspiring Emory of overcoming insurmountable odds.

You know what Ray…I bet you and Rich could sit down and have some beverages and talk like old friends…just the mutual respect you both have for eachother speaks volumes. Nice to see strong camaraderie here on this platform, helps when people support others along this journey.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Slugg0matic says:

You guys are great. One of my favorite questions to ask during an interview is how do you define success. I use that question to see if I will get a canned answer of something unique and real. I want to see the character of the applicant. The best response I ever received cam from a young man filled with hope and a superb attitude who said, "when I can look back at the end of my day, my career or my life and see that I have made a difference. I hired him on the spot and became a great tech like you and Rich. Customers and other techs loved the guy.

I've watched how you and Rich think through a problem and notice that you don't do it to just fix it, you do it because you WANT to make it right. You take pride in your work and you don't fly with shortcuts and patch jobs. Everything from full disclosure with the owners to making sure the oil cap is straight is important to you and that is why your viewers and peers show you such respect.

    Thanks guys.

    Sorry.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lisa S says:

Amazing story and so proud of both of you. I always told my kids it’s not what happens to you, bad stuff happens to everyone, but what you do with the experience.
I heard a story at a conference one time. The speaker said there was two brothers he interviewed. The brothers grew up in a very dysfunctional home and their father was on death row for murder. One brother was a family man with a good job and respected. The other brother was on death row for murder. The interviewer asked each brother the same question. “ Why do you think you made the decisions you did and ended up where you are today?” They both gave the same answer. “ Look at who my father is and how I grew up, I had no choice. “. I’m not sure if the story is true but it has always stuck with me. We make are own choices on how we react and handle what life throws at us.
Love your channel. Have a great day!

There's enough persons in that industry that actually perpetuate that perception of scam artist via their lack of professionalism and wanting to make a buck no matter what it costs others (sometimes it's the shop owner too, company culture starts at where the buck stops, the lead person).
Combine that with the general public's lack of knowledge of how stuff works, you have a few potent and toxic ingredients that mixed together make for an inescapable stigma that poisons the industry as a whole.

What an entitled millennial! JK Thanks for all the great vids, ive done a lot of work on our 05 BMW and 06 Mercedes that I was intimidated to do until I watched some great vids on the jobs I needed to do.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars It's Not THAT Complicated says:

As a fellow technician, I really enjoy your content, Ray. Rich, on the other end… not a fan. You two may have similarities, but you both, along with your channels, videos and styles of working, are quite different. I enjoy the way you do the right thing, because it’s just the right thing to do. Rich, on the other hand, has always seemed like the guy that does what they think is right, so they can tell everyone what they did, looking for the pat on the back or the kudos they’ll get from it. Ray seems like the kind of guy that will donate anonymously, to help someone out, while Rich would donate and then tell everyone what he did and how much he donated. I subscribed to FordBossMe a while back and then about a month later, I unsubscribed. As a fellow Ford dealer technician, frustratingly, no matter how many times I tried to watch his videos and enjoy the content, I was unable to. I feel bad for the horrendous childhood that this man endured and think it is great that he turned his life around, on his own and has been successful at it. We all have stories and have been through tough things and hard times. The fact that Rich somehow has his story being told and attention brought to all of the hardships, struggles and triumphs, just seems like another example of this guy wanting the pat on the back and to let everyone know why he’s so great. I really love the work ethic you possess, Ray and your humble ways. That is why I enjoy your content, because you stay humble and care about doing the right thing. You ended the video saying that you’ve been through so much too, but left it there. That’s classy. Thanks Ray, I appreciate all the content and determination.

Great narration of a mans journey

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jerry Hatrick says:

    Awesome.
I never miss either of your videos.
They start my day every day and help Drive my day to keep. Moving in this bag of broken bones.
And I do it because I'm good at it also.. Because I enjoy helping others and making sure it's done right.
And I pick up things from you two and learn.
    I use many sources.
I lost count he times I've been broken from family to women and physicaly and other ways.
I must be good at Putting myself back together.
    The doctors help also. Lol.

Rich has been through all that shit being abused, abandoned but look at the awesome person he has turned out to be and the kids growing up nowadays think they have it hard cuz mommy and daddy won't buy them the latest and greatest phone, designer clothes and what not kids have it so easy today compared to even 30 years ago. When I was 5 my butt was in a tobacco field right along with my dad and the farms owner working beside them and I was expected to do the same amount of work as them

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ford Boss Me says:

    Thank You Brother!
