The County vehicles were in service for a pre-determined times and mileage. They may have been de-commissioned for safety reasones
During my 30 years of working on the same County vehicles I NEVER saw caliper pins come out so dry and dirty
We were paid hourly and their was no commission pay. If somebody screwed up you knew who did it.

That thermal imager should be handy with Florida summers heheh. Gotta keep your nuts cool!
Especially on aluminum rims with studs, try a short socket wrench, and sometimes it helps to tighten and loosen the opposite stud (x patern) several times (it loosens the opposite stud).
Why don't you use lever instead of impact gun and if needed hit it with hammer. You can use even metal tube to increase leaverage even more. You can use over 1m long lever to break bolts free effortlessly..

My late Father was an industrial blacksmith and when visitors came to watch him he would place a large nut on the anvil and flatten it with one mighty blow from his sledge hammer. He would then pick it up from the anvil and toss it to one of the visitors to catch. They would drop it immediately as it was so hot, his hands seemed to be used to the heat but theirs wasn't. 😆
He was once asked to hit a ball bearing placed on the anvil, which he did and the ball shattered into many pieces. On inspection of his sledge hammer, the mark made was dead center such was his accuracy wielding the hammer.

Hope you didn't put the wheel stud back on if it was cross threaded. If you did at least put on some anti-seize grease on the threads.
Would suck to be the next person trying to get it off espicially if your doing it on the side of the road.
I find straddling a price of rain guttering filled with ice will take care of hot nuts…

A lot of people breaking studs by the lug nut being to tight or somebody putting on the wrong lug nut. First time I seen a image like that but I know a lot of heat builds up.
Those are screws not studs 👍
I have had a socket get hot enough you can't hold on to it after using it to remove 40 some bolts from a tractor axle planetary gear assembly
