Sometimes the question arises depending on what you feel like having to do…would you use their restroom being if theirs is out of order….and….you can't make it back in time……..or else?
Windshield squirter res. jug missing a cap?
your one- handed work is mind boggling…………
You can find that intake connector at any HARDWARE STORE, just take the broken pieces, and you can get the brass counterpart…..
And they were cheap at one time, not sure about now…..
Slow down on the rough-wrenchin' on da plastique parts.
"Time is of the essence!"
<wanders around a junk yard like my wife at a shoe store>
Hillarious
I can tell you've never been a plumber. My dad would say you never run the threads all the way in on a fitting with teflon tape. The tape seals the threads not the threads. Running in the threads too far will actually cause a leak.
Try 1A Auto for lights
if that fitting is just a hose fitting with a threaded end and a nipple for the hose , I would have gone to a plumbing supply and bought a nice brass one ……unless its a pcv of course ๐
I knew that he was going to break that fitting. The way he was going about being a savage as usual.
I use to be a detailed and I would normally use 2-3 coats of really good clear coat and really never got and come backs for the headlight restorations.
You can get something that will fit at Home Depot in the plumbing Dept. Hindsight.
Teflon has to be wrapped against the thread, not in favor; f you did it in favor, it'll probably leak
Why we don't go CLICK when intake parts need to be tightened we bust out the clicky wreanch fun thing is that's faster than running to the junkyard walking down in the mud explaining all of he bullshit to the owner but tou earned your deee daaa deeeeeeeee award ๐ฅ
$20 part from a wrecking yard? How much does the new part cost? Just curious.
I know that junk yard glicks.
Ahhh, The engine at 7.05 is not a Big Block, BBC. It is a 5.7 TBI small block, kind sir. Have a safe day.
You literally over tighten every single fastener and fitting you touch. Tighter โ better. So many future issues can arise that wonโt be obvious when over tightening something. Just because it didnโt strip or shear, doesnโt mean you didnโt damage it
Ray as far as your headlights go, try to finish them with clear coat. Iโve been doing that and itโs lasted almost a year so far with no signs of UV damage
WOW!!!! thats a super clean yard……………… CLick"
Ha ha. My dad always said 1/2 turn before it breaks. I broke a lot of bolts until I smartened up and stopped trying to get that last 1/2 turn. LMAO
That shit happens to me occasionally and it sucks
I know how it feels to break a fitting like that and having to go to the junk yard…except the ones around here they probably would make me buy the entire intake manifold just for the part!!
Looking to replace your factory GM lenses . Try Soecโd. Surprised at the quality. They are made in Taiwan. Very good quality. And I upgraded to high quality LED The light scatter was not diffused more focused. But compared to the OEM. light years ahead And they looked OEM too. whether they have the cat eyes GMC. I donโt know
I bet he would completely change his mind if he saw that paycheck from youtube.
Gotta love when it goes from righty tighty to righty loosey
I'm 95% that purple "dune buggy" was actually from haggard garage, back in the day after the moved to florida… they did some very questionable stuff…
How is price decided when you go pick parts from a scrap yard? Do you pay per weight?
Cerakote headlight restoration kits are amazing on headlights
why does everyone think they have to over tighten pipe fittings.
REEEE. Made me nervous sir the second time around.
*SNAP* lol
That's the only yard I've ever seen with concret I hope jeff is doing ok
Cement junk yard, usually they are dirt and a muddy mess…this place is clean
Why do they leave trunks and hoods open to let the stuff get wet over time and mess stuff up?
The caged thing is a Foxbody race car missing it's exterior sheet metal, not a dune buggy. (In case someone else didn't mention it)
I have that same baby 3/8" Duralast ratchet. I bought it close to 20 years ago when I was getting started and had issues overtorquing fasteners. It did help me screw up a lot less.
You should see if they'll let you film a car being shredded. Assuming we all like to see such activity.
Slow the hell down dude!
I used to go the salvage near my house to find certain parts i couldn't get in a parts store like the tail lights for my 85 oldsmobile. Now that i found them i started to slowly take the whole car apart and i'm doing a full restoration on it
I like all your videos but I donโt understand why you donโt clean your threads off and lube them before installing the new or especially a junkyard part . I do and it makes them go on better and easier without breaking off. Clean the rust off with a wire grinder wheel so they fit better. Just a thought?
Sylvania headlight restore kit. Amazons got it for 20 bucks and when you register your product they are the only one that give you a lifetime warranty. I restored my girlfriends headlights a while back and they came out great. 03 Altima.
Junk yard like that are quite rare in the UK nowadays, due to health and safety and the recycling of old vehicles that needs to happen.
There's a place called certifit auto body parts. They've got a lot of oem parts. And they ship
heat cycled plastic…. it's gonna bust
I followed a guy on youtube who used 3m pro paint protection(clear bra) after restoring using wet sanding. Been about a year, so far so good.
No-one else seems to have asked so, did they charge you $20 for it? In the days when I ued scrapyards, they wouldn't charge for a plastic bit like that; just told you to come back again when you needed something heavy.๐๐
In both instances, I'd have stopped pulling the wrench 5 pulls earlier! Live and learn they say.
Grab all the fuses
Were is this boneyard/junkyard located is it close to you is that why you went there to get the parts? Can you look up on a website if they have a car in junkyard for the part or do you have to go there & just look.
That's weird…. I always thought that whatever fits in your pocket was free. ๐๐
