Different practices applied to different locations based on a range of factors. I'm in agreeance, though, that we are all over it. Ideally you are sufficiently vaccinated, so you prolly just had a good old fashioned winter head cold. Didn't seem to affect the quality of your excellent work. Cheers.

Fun little tid bit. I bought my wife a newer car this year it’s a 2017 Chevy Tahoe. Really really nice rig I can see why they keep Making them BUT it was used and we got a sweet deal. Had some issues it had a Huge scratch down the side of it like a key I think. Cost me $2200 at a body shop. And then the ac didn’t work. Kind of odd for 2017 with 46k miles. They had a recall for the condensor in those years they would crack in this one spot and sure as shit that’s what ours had. Our vin was included in this recall but of course the dealer ship near us was months out mainly because of covid and the shipping issue. We bought it early summer with ALOT of hot days ahead of us and all black leather interior. I ended up doing the condensor myself it was $80 But lol this rig takes a “new” Freon R-1234yf. It cost nearly $600 to fill it. I thought that was pretty neat of GM.
An assortment of rubber bungs to for the sucky tube OD and a receiver sucky bung will aid your process and contain/minimise cleaner fluid waste.

Yeah things are pretty shit here in Aus. We got cops at shopping entrances checking permits before entering shops in QLD, but NSW is on board with it not being a big deal so im moving there. Maybe they'll have proper mechanics like you too there that don't undergas my AC to save a few cents and rip out my filters and kick them in the dirt to say I must pay for more + labour
The bolt that was missing, that you replaced was apparently lost by your place of business by the mechanic that replaced the compressor.
