  1. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tiny Brown says:

Had this happen to me, I used an old 12mm spanner to weld onto the chewed up drain plug. Why do they put them on with an impact gun? Luckily I had a new drain plug…..

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Martin says:

I agree with you, you do suck at welding.

    End of video:

    Wheeeeeeeeee!

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Duffield says:

    Made me dizzy.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eileen Hawkins says:

Can only speak for myself, but I like the sound of the phone.
Also, were you trying to make us all sick and dizzy at the end there? Good job, it worked! (Of course the fact I'm suffering from bronchitis at the moment may have influenced my reaction.)

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars josh pittman says:

How to keep your drain plug from leaking. Mechanics hate this one trick.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stephen Urban says:

Might want to invest in a rounded bolt extractor set.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars sand 007 says:

    My back aches watching you do this, yours must be feeling pretty miserable after this :{

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sven Schwingel says:

The mistake: applying torque while the drain plug was hot. The lowered yield strength made it easy to shear it off like that

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bill Cass says:

Ray you are an innovator proving that people want to believe that mechanics are mostly honest. offering the customer, a chance to observe the job they are paying for. In time this may be a make-or-break service feature that will change the way car repair is done. Thanks for showing people an alternative to dishonest car repair technicians.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Patrick Barber says:

Remember the tuque for that drain plug is about 900lbs

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Patrick Barber says:

I do hope the battery is disconnected

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Patrick Barber says:

You need some gripper sockets that cut in as you turn them

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TheOnespeedbiker says:

The drain plug has a rim around the base that you can often get a vice grip around. It may not have worked in this case, but it has a larger diameter and hasn't been tapered as the shredded hex lands of drain plug.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kasual Skeptik says:

Yes, use the Jaws of Life to remove it…!!! This must be "Weld by Numbers", right….?

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Marty Blake says:

    You weren't kidding. You really aren't a welder.🤣

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Djt says:

Turn up the amps and check the gas flow on the regulator…..both are way off…….

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bob Bates says:

Give yourself more room and put it up on the rack

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars spacedinvader69 says:

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Scott Saunders says:

Make sure you have some stand off with the electrode. It’s better if you do not let the end touch, just the wire

Good god I never seen one so tight that the motor mounts flex trying to remove it

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Lefler says:

Maybe disconnect battery to avoid messing up the ecu. Thats what they tell me. Somehow it may fry electrical components. No biggy. It hasnt happened to me yet

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ben Budd says:

I think he should weld more often very entertaining

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Schips says:

That gnarled drain plug is the reason why the customer brought it to you. They probably tried to get it off and messed it all up.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Charles Hollis says:

    You need tourbo sockets

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars badassbiker1974 says:

You have a great sense of humour Ray, stay happy!

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars badassbiker1974 says:

Welding tip for you Ray. Clean your surfaces back to bare metal for better welds.

Jeep Chrysler keeps you in business. Why people don’t do research before buying those junkie vehicles is beyond me

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars JOHN'S WICK says:

IF it had been me, I would have just cleaned up the drain plug just a tad with a angle grinder Ray. Just sayin.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars thereissomecoolstuff says:

I know this is in the comments at least 500 times. Why didn't you use a sucker. Yeah it's only 95% of the oil but the Germans seem to love them.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Doug Dingus says:

    Safety Dance!

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Fuller says:

Nice job on that jeep "plug"
It's always harder trying to fill in metal then welding the outside. I would of tried the castle nut first and welding around the outside. Not an expert at welding but have had plenty experience. Still nice job man.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wozzle says:

    Wow that was freaky 🙂

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars al klapaxida says:

i think i might try welding some huge nuts on, see how it goes…

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars al klapaxida says:

yea, i always bring two nuts with me too,,,

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars james daniels says:

Showing off and you made a big mess didn't you. They'll love smelling oil smoke for 2 days.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Just a messenger says:

Have you ever used an air hammer to remove stripped drain plugs?

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jonathan Mimnagh says:

I hate drain plugs. I used to have Peugeot & citroen cars and the plugs were of a hexagonal design but with a square cut out in the centre. In theory you used a drain plug tool to remove the plug, but usually ended up busting the plug, so the knack was to place a ring spanner over the plug to hold it together and use the drain plus tool to undo the plug.

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars theeddorian says:

A little extra interesting for us JK/JKU drivers. The low tire pressure might be the result of airing down the tires, and forgetting to air them back up. The pressures were consistent enough that airing them down with a cheap gauge might have been the cause. Later model JKs (and others) have a display that tells you which tire is low.

Dude this is killing me to watch
