This is why you don't use those old school clamps always use constant tension clamps from the factory!!
Sadness for the customer… No fix ..no car soon! Appreciate your integrity in analyzing the problem. Have a great day!.
My question is. Don't the coolant need to be bled. If there is air in coolant it will not flow.
The whole works minus tightening a clamp
Some dealers and mechanic shops have rookie mechanics that dont care and dont know much about mechanic work. I had a similar problem with an Acura dealership in dallas texas. The dealership owner didn't even care.
Poor car is doomed…
Why dont you ever wipe the dipstick? Thats how you end up with oil all over your dipstick tube getting on places you dont want it
Seems the dealership guy was Rushin'!😂😂😂
Better get use to getting alot more declines in the future…Economy is taking a giant shit and no one is gonna have the spare money.
"The oil light concerns me , so Im gonna let it sit here and idle while its dumping raw fuel into the cat. "
Why I QUIT after 40 years…………….
With a car like that it is best not to know. Drive it into the ground while looking for another car. Clearly not worth fixing.
Ford escape / mazda tribute are one of the biggest pieces of shit ever designed. I had to fix one a few years ago. Ford with mazda engine and some of the parts were from F-150
Ignoring what you have been taught and lack of car sympathy leads to catastrophic engine damage. An expensive lesson to learn
Sad when this happens but I do wonder was the engine bad before they spent money on the new coolant parts, or did that hose coming off cause the problems? Depending on how handy you are if you can get a replacement engine a swap would be the cheapest option to get the old car back on the road!

Likely needs a themostat. Once replaced if the flow returns, chemical test the overflow for exhaust gases in the overflow. If present then bad head or head gasket.
Probably that's an air air cooled engine, that's why it's still driving without coolant 🤣🤣🤣
As soon as you stopped pouring radiator fluid into the resivour in the beginning, it dropped fast. I thought there was a leak immediately.
I had a 3.0 that I rebuilt as a to do project. Punched out .030, 5 angle valve job, mustang injectors, adjustable fuel pressure, camcraft cam, ported and polished….
It was a good little motor that you could build up for under 2k at the time (2003).
I beat a lot of cars with it. (1990 Ford Probe LX manual transmission)
6 puck clutch…
These people should just put a KLZE in it…
even though the oil looks new, it's possible it was "cooked" when motor was over heated and lost viscosity causing low oil pressure indication at idle. . had a diesel that would do that.
Check out the fence post.
Could you check oil and coolant levals before you drive.???
Wishful thinking customer. They know the car, has no life.. it’s 21 years old, yet they hope it’s just a bad hose, that would stop the misfire, oil leak, and fix the gasket at the same time.
You gotta wonder whose fault it is here, the dealership or the vehicle owner. The dealership has seriously botched repairs, causing a domino effect through the engine, but the vehicle owner ignored every sign along the way
I do alot of minor repairs and maintenance on my cars. My wife has an Expidition with the 5.4 triton in it. After becoming very familiar with that vehicle and watching this video, why does Ford like tto make their vehicles difficult to do simple repairs and maintenance? Ie… Changing spark plugs. I mean that should take 20 min tops and that's pushing it to take time for finding tools and set up.
Fun Fact: There's a programming language (Compiler Language With No Pronounceable Acronym also known as INTERCAL) that requires you to be polite in order for the compiler to compile your code. If you're not polite enough the compiler will throw an error. But: You can't just say please in every instruction as then the compiler throws an error as well, stating you're obsessively polite. The exact ratio of polite statements vs "normal" statements" is not documented.
End of story: It's always good to be polite to your equipment once in a while.
Wow.
Could the thermostat been installed backwards,
Blue Rhino time. Drive until it grenades. Then call junkyard.
I agree that motor is toast
My family always likes to buy old used cause and then complaint with issues. Cause they don't wanna buy newer ones.
Some ppl shouldn’t be allowed to raise a spanner towards a vehicle 🤦♂️🤔
So in my shop they would have had us do a block test as well as from my experience if coolant is getting into the cylinder it seems to steam clean the piston head. From they way it seems there is a head issue as well as oil leaking causing the build up on the piston head. Sad to see another customer ripped off. Most shops around my area will do a pre purchase inspection.
Could a blockage have caused excess pressure and that caused the hose to pop off?
Sadly drivers Ed is no longer in High Schools. How not to ruin an engine was week one.
But in 1964 most everybody already got that from dad.
I haven’t watch the whole video yet but have you ever conducted a leak down test? Also have you ever conducted the test where you put the tool on the radiator with a special fluid that is blue and it turns green if there are exhaust gases present? Just asking because I’ve done that in the past.
THEY JUST HANDED THE BALL TO THE OTHER TEAM AND TOOK A SAFETY IN THE END-ZONE!!! OMG 😱.. THAT WAS BEYOND A DROPPED BALL.
it's a zoom zoom zoom out the door bye bye mazda
Oil or have they topped it up before giving it to you
Your shop paint scheme looks like an old Western Auto shop.
Whatever it is , they’re not paying you enough ! Wish you were in my neighborhood !
Not worth repairing scrap it and you'll get another one
It’s a Ford clone???? Wtf??? It’s like a ranger!!!!
Honestly if shops started encouraging their mechanics to video themselves that would be a huge selling point.
You just need a longer deep stick
All it took me was one video and I’ve been hooked ever since I’ve never been more interested in watching videos about fixing vehicles in my life 😆 you gotta subscriber in me
it'll be back , not under it's own power ….but it will be back
The Escape was a rebadged Tribute. Based on the Mazda 626/Capella sedan.
Just curious are you flat rate, hourly or salary? I'm thinking of getting out of the dealership world.
I wonder if simply replacing the entire motor with a reconditioned one would be cheaper than a repair? I've done it in the past, but that was long ago and have no idea with cars built after about 1990.
