Where did ya get the oil filling jug used to pour fresh oil into Ford edge ?
Pour things
Truly…Ford EPS electric power steering is seriously flawed. See their 2010 through 2015 Ford Fusions as just one lousy electric rack and pinion.
So many failed with less than 35,000 miles and almost all failed by 80,000.
Now Ford has put EPS on all cars and trucks…what insanity!
I got the $2598 quote for to replace my Fusion EPS….6 months after they did some hokey reprogramming to the EPS steering module in the rack under the factory recall….then refused to replace the defective EPS when it quit 2112 miles beyond the warranty mileage.
NO MORE FORD CARS OR TRUCKS FOR ME…and no more EPS of any kind.
AGM is better for the typical driver, as in low maintenance. If you prefer a flooded battery, buy the heaviest one you can get that fits your compartment, more lead, equals more power.
nice to see your looking after the electron flow apparatus with a positive attitude it's an education to watch you perform all sorts of repairs and have you explain the way they work a good job
What clamp meter would you recommend for automotive?
Have you ever tried spraying silicon spray lube into your electrical connectors? I use the straw extension and flush-out any dirt or debris trapped in the connector locks. They come apart much easier and go back together easier too. The connector seals also like it.
The next guy?…your repairing to exceed all others!
So how did it work ? Did you happen to follow up with the customer?
Would dielectric grease work on battery terminals to keep from corrosion
I’ve been watching your videos for about 6 weeks and I am very impressed with your integrity and desire to get the diagnosis right.
Man, what a bunch of connector's on the "Plus terminal !!".
NOCO products available at WalMart 4/4/2022 in the battery department.
Are you self employed withing the company Ray buying your own gloves company should supply
I see a channel rename to "The Wasperer"
300,000 Subscribers!!!! 🥳
"Oil gravity"
WHY!!
the bug is a Yellow Jacket.
I bet this customer was ecstatic to hear the issue required about 200 bucks worth of parts instead of 2500
the don't get oil on me challenge <spins vigorously spraying oil in all directions>
When doing an oil change why don’t you punch a hole in the bottom of the oil filter? Hence no mess as filter is drained in a controlled manner!
The wasp is a Yellow Jacket
There is a battery terminal puller with no other use excepting removing reluctant battery cables. Surprised you don't have one
the message on the oil filter!!!!!
Please tell me why you dont use a little dielectric grease on the connectors…LOVE your videos and your technical skills.
To bad all those explorer hoods will carry the scar of shame. Even the aluminum can't escape the iron.
You needed to make that battery connection CLICK… doo doo doo
NAPA has the same battery cleaner product. Labeled simply battery terminal cleaner.
It's either part number 1072 or 1073…one of those is the cleaner, the other is the protector. That cleaner foam sprays yellow, and it will turn red when there is acid.
What you did obviously needed done. That said, I'm amazed the owner didn't have other issues other than steering. Bad battery clamps and a crappy battery?… you'd think other issues would arise that could indeed show up, specifically with interior and or headlights flickering… and quite possibly random starting issues. Might be why someone over tighten those battery clamps?
Well done, Ray !
I wish I had a mechanic like you working on my 2019 Ranger. I’m currently having a steering issue where on cold mornings the steering wheel is “frozen.” I know it can’t be frozen because it’s EPAS but it takes anywhere from 10-20 minutes for it to get unstuck. The local dealership is still trying to figure it out. Battery Voltage and CCA are good. Connections, at least at the battery posts, look good. Honestly don’t know what it could be. Started out of the blue 2 weeks ago. Only happens on really cold mornings and will be fine until I start it up the next morning.
But, but you didn’t prefill the filter. 😱
Sorry, I had to. 😂
Once I saw your video explaining why you don’t, I also stopped when I change my 1984’s oil.
"How did you overfill the engine by 7 quarts?” "I was hypnotized by the pour".
I wish I lived near you it reminds me that everyone is not out to get the consumer
Love the FJB on the oil filter haha
Did you know that the crustyness on top of a battery can be conductive and allow the battery to self discharge just from having that crud on top.
So good on you for cleaning off the top.
Nice job .
I had the same on my ford kuga before Christmas new years day it wouldn't start new battery all ok the power steering slow to start and the radio keep going back to am setting
Brake clean is good for wasps😁
Might be kinda late on this but that was a paper wasp.
I LUV MY BEAM TORQUE WRENCH! 🙃
Olympic caliber oil addition right there.
you need a net to keep them wasps out .. try getting a hor-net .. that should help .. lol
The reason they did not have an AGM battery, is because they went to the parts store and said give me the cheapest thing and that’s what they got.
Dude watching this again and that looks like an executioner wasp.
That's a yellow paper wasp. The eye color gives it away. Yellow jackets and European hornets have black eyes.
The yellow paper wasp should not be confused with the yellow journalists of the Left-Wing media.
Very classic logo branding of the oil filter.
RAY,, WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON USING A MEMORY SAVER THAT PLUGS INTO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER…???
I ALWAYS USED IT ON ALL OF MY SHADE TREE MECHANICAL ADVENTURES…!!!!!
