Turning your wrench into a 20,000 amp fuse ha ha.
Come on, we've all done it at some point !!
Looks like you've recovered from your hand injury!
In the UK we were told to use petroleum jelly on battery terminals to prevent corrosion.
I have mentioned before that I have used the battery terminal pads for over 45 years, and have had no corrosion problems. The trick is to regularly give them a wipe of petroleum jelly.
The terminal brush will slightly decrease the diameter of the post and slightly increase the diameter of the clamp. This can be another cause of loose clamps. Once that happens you may need to shim the posts so that the clamps can have enough adjustment.
Working with some banger tunes I've noticed, good shit man.
u forgot to chooch that rubber thingy back to its chooching place above battery…js
Thanks for the link to the battery terminal brush. I picked one up!
Please tell me you fixed that rubber above the battery….
You didn’t use that fancy battery spray one of your viewers sent you? :(.
Smells like poop!
Smells like poop in here!
Do you ever use battery terminal fluid.
Simple but I think it may help some people. So many people forget or just don't care. I've had so many people come to me with battery issues that honestly where just super cer9ded once cleaned it got em a tad more life from the battery.
those anti corrosion things work. 23 years later my miata has never had corrosion build up on the terminals. have a rav4 with no anti corrosion pads and gotta clean them every 5 months or so.
i use a special conductive grease made for industrial wire terminals on inside and some dielectric silicone grease on outside of terminals and i never have corrosion for 5 years till its time for a new battery
Just a random question was the tittle suppose to say matter or make sure?
yuo
What did you do to mess up your wrist? Did you loose your grip and hit the wall?
At the FAA, we used a product called NO OXID, no doubt, no longer available. It looked just like peanut butter….no, I never tasted it….Worked very well….
The company I work for makes those battery brushes! Shoot me your address, I’d like to send your some stuff for free, no review or mention in any video is necessary. Just want to make your job easier!
Matter sure it's connected? Fuck does that mean?
those little pads absorb the chlorine gas escaping around the terminal seals.
I think those anti corrosion things are scared of me. Everytime I disconnect a battery that has them they always disappear.😀
I wont say anything this time about that ring, and the amps in that battery. Nope I have said it and you seem to be a grown up so I will let it go. 🙂 Oh man I sure want to say it again……..
But for the people who may not know, notice how the post/terminal cleaner is used? Spin it one way. If you twist them back and forth they are bad about busting off the wires inside. Not much as fun as getting one of those corroded covered wires poked into you. The junk they have one them can be a wee bit painful.
Sorry about the wrist. The pains that you dont know why things hurt. or just what you did, sure make it hard to keep from doing it over and over. I HOPE IT FEELS BETTER SOON.
Stop beating your meat like it owes you$$$ 💰 💰 💰 lol early carpultunel… lol that's not how you spell it but dude is right they make wrist braces for when you sleep that keep your hands in a neutral position I'm a electrician and have been wearing them for 8 years now
Ouch! What happened to your hand Ray?
I have one car, a Corvette, that I drive about once every couple weeks, and I have a slow-rate charger on the battery to maintain it's health.
Some battery specialists also add some vaseline to the connector to seal the connection and reduce corrosion between the clamp and the terminal.
Ray, where did you get that special ‘click’ torque wrench?
I spend ages looking through the manual trying to find the correct torque settings and adjusting the torque wrench.
Can you put a clicky link in your next video??😉
Could eat off my battery. But, that would get it dirty.
For you hand , maybe acupuncture ? Hopefully in your community there is a " community acupuncture clinic " . That offers it at low cost / sliding fee , basis .
My battery dead as stone. Thanks covid 😖
I use the red spray on the terminals and never get any corrosion on them. No problems at all.
Just ordered 2 of those (one in the car the other at home) thx ray
Did I miss how you injured your hand? Does grease help prevent Coroating?
And your back
I do what you did with one addition. I give a THIN coat of dielectric grease. If you live in a very humid area, it helps stop the corrosion. I do this INSTEAD of those nasty little pads. The grease does collect dust in dry dusty conditions. I have more humidity, than dust. Maybe those pads would be better for dry conditions….
I just had a 2013 Toyota Camry show up today to the dealership where I work and the customer was complaining that all the warning lights came on for a second and went away. What do I find? A botched battery install, customer had attempted to replace the battery but just barely had the terminals attached, it took zero effort to move those battery terminals. If you do replace your own battery make sure that you can't move the battery terminals and that they are snug and yes routine maintenance of cleaning the corrosion off is necessary. Can't say how many times I have had to replace battery terminals because of neglect.
My Chevy truck recently did some wierd stuff a couple of times. Battery terminals looked fine but I cleaned them anyway. Several months later now and it hasnt done it again….
Enjoyed
Did that Toyota's suspension claim your right hand Ray?
My last battery was an AGM Durilast platinum with dielectric grease on the cables. It lasted almost four years. That's good for my part of the country. I put an optima red top in because I can't get a Durilast platinum anymore.
Tappy tapped 👍🏼
I love a quickie I thought as I clicked, then alas, it was just a battery cleaning.
I suppose i’m just missing days gone by…when the wife wanted kids.
Why did you not mention the memory preservers you can plug into a customers power supply? It provides power supply to retain all of the customers radio, seats, clock memory settings while the battery is disconnected
My battery told me I’m too much of a drain, and there was no spark left between us. That’s ok, I’m a bit of a die hard and will always find a way to make us gel…
Never seen a battery you can top-up in several decades.
A couple drops of motor oil usually keeps the corrosion away.
we are missing a video where you injured your hand….
