For some reason your videos are addictive. I do wish you would share some information on the cordless tools you use.
Another job well done.
Screwed again, tried to comment and Y tube wouldn't go over 40 characters, Sinclair and Amiga did better.
@Rainman Ray's Repairs Thanks for coming back
You said this was a patriot the patriot in 2012 only came in a 4 cylinder.
What damages might occur with such a badly worn spark plugs? 🤔
Am I the only one who goes to doo da doodle doo with the phone and ray every time it rings? I laugh my butt off every time. Very amusing.
Any "tune-up" needs to include the cleaning of the throttle body.
Ray, wouldn’t have been prudent to have all spark plug holes covered before using air to clear out any of the channels?
Blew out the spark plug ports to have debris land in the throttle body? Why not stuff a shop towel into the throttle body intake too?
All set…
WTF? At the beginning, I see a plastic part that has "TURBO DIESEL" embossed in it. But this engine has spark plugs…
As a knew subscriber, i am curious why you say "CLICK" when tightening the fasteners.. did someone give you grief about that???? By thee way i do enjoy your videos immensely.
I love your videos. Your commentary is funny and informative. I'm not talking bad about you in anyway shape of form, however i noticed you didn't use anti seize on the spark plugs. I was curious of why not? I'm just wondering.
God I remember the days when it was not a 13 hour job just to change the spark plugs…crazy how much you gotta remove just to change the plugs…
just just want you to know Ray it is all your fault, i just bought a Milwaukee 2560-21 ratchet, all because i keep watching you with an electric ratchet, Happy Holidays to you and yours
9.04 what about open spark plug wells on right side when blowing sand out of left side ?
I had spark plugs replaced in my minivan by a service place. I could have done it myself but two of the plus were hard to get to. After the repair, the engine light came on. Took it to the OEM dealer because it was still under warranty. Codes said one cylinder was misfiring. Turns out new sparkplug had no anode. Cost me $120, since that wasn't covered by warranty. Took the bill back to the original repair shop. They were mad I didn't take the car back to them right away. I didn't assume that the problem was related to their repair at first. After about a week and talking to the manager two times, original service place paid me $120.
that would be a chevy pick up

That's some weird COVID-brain Chevy turbo diesel stuff at the beginning of the video. Made me wonder if I had COVID.
Where do you work at. Want you to work on my vehicle
Ray you a great mechanic…..love watching you work…..how long you been into spanner work.
Nick from the UK.
Glad you came thru it all. Love the smooth idle on that dirty max.
Turbo diesel chevy switch to jeep in the shop. What?
Dielectric grease, the bigger the blob, the better the job.
I've always used anti-seize on plugs if engine has aluminum heads
are you reading the plugs on the left side of the electrode on the gauge? it looks to me on camera that they are gapped a couple thousandths more when I am looking at the right side which is the thickest part of the gauge.
Awesome job as usual! 😎👍
Remember this……To much dielectric grease in the boots for the spark plugs will cause a misfire problem that is very hard to diagnose.
Why not a tiny bit of anti seize on the plug threads ?? I do that just in case.
I always see folks applying dielectric grease everywhere except where it's supposed to go… on the O-Rings and rubber seals.
Any chance that the white nose plug was fed fuel through a runner that has a slight vacuum leak?
When did Chevy start making Jeep’s
So you pulled out spark plugs out of a turbo diesel ? look at 0.26 into video.
Spark plugs, like all ignition parts, have a 100,000 mile warranty!
Spark plug gaps visible from outer space were a common feature on customers motorcycles, so too were drive chains that were utterly devoid of lubricant, rusted to hell and looser than ever thought possible!
If there was a full enclosure chain case fitted, therein lay things of horror…
the tech made a mistake. blew out the first three plugs before removing them to dust/sand from getting into the engine. after pulling the first three, moved to the other side and proceeded to do the same thing. however with the first three plugs still out, by blowing out the other side he runs the risk of putting dust/sand from the other side of the engine into the first three vacant spark plug holes.
Wow, I pulled the plugs on my corolla (80k) and quite frankly didn't see any gap wear. They were iridium OEMs though.
Nice to see a man who knows what he dos! After all all these Youtube videos. Thanks Ray!
glad your back
Watched this last night. Decided to put some Iridiums in my Legacy EJ22.
Surprised that thing is not eating coils.
Glad to see a post. I was not expecting one forna little while. Get better soon.
Yay
Get yourself better soon. Don't worry yourself about the videos. Concentrate you efforts on getting well.
Looks like the guy in the black tee-shirt wanted to talk to you about something…was he a boss?
Also, when the spark plugs are worn down like that, does the vehicle experience any symptoms that can be identified?
Good call on the compressed air blowout. I “Inherited” a Dodge Ram with the 5.7 Hemi. Would barely go up hills. Was bucking and downshifting like a mofo. Checked a spark plug — yeah — 140K miles and original factory plugs. They looked much like the ones in this video. Fun fact — there are sixteen plugs in a 5.7. Between the fresh plugs and two O2 sensors she runs like a champ now. 👍
