    Hole in the water.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Salty Creole says:

The Company CEO and/or the spouse drives the Landrover. The computer engineer with a man-bun drives the Mini Cooper.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Trembling One says:

Not hard to understand the "yf" part.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Telly Joossens says:

Lol you don't have to dislike Eutoppean vehicles, just dislike Rovers and Jaguars 😉

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Vivian Parslow says:

I believe I heard a half whispered expletive!
    First ever
If it was me doing the work you do, the soundtrack would have to be severely edited and use subtitles.

Im shocked – did I hear our intrepid hero actually drop the F-bomb?????? (11.32)

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Grumpy says:

I've found as often as not, compressor seals tend to leak when the vehicle sits for a few months, but when the system is run again, they seal themselves up. We find dye but no current leak, system is deficient due to the loss while sitting unused.

    You love European cars really

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sven Schwingel says:

I might be mistaken but isn't the shaft seal on the AC compressor supposed to let a tiny amount of refrigerant leak over time? That thing must still be able to turn freely, after all. As far as I understand, a loss of 10% charge per year is considered acceptable anyway. At least, it was with 134a.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars brian watkins says:

    that was a cool job

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Grosser says:

I have owned a 1976 series lll ex army Land-Rover for over 20 years and love it , but you couldn't give me one of those new plastic POS ones. I have heard too many horror stories about them . I think that the Land-Rover name should have been dropped after the series lll models ceased production. The old ones were made to work but the new ones are nothing more than rich kids toys.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dill Buckler says:

When you reinsert clips.. I'm always waiting to hear you say "clip" ..lol sorry 😁🎉

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars polloloci21 says:

Luckily my Land Rover is so old there’s no AC – just a fresh air flap. Haha🥺

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Klaus H. says:

    OK Ray:
I heart that,: You shouted the politicians "F" word, all the way from Florida to Vancouver, Canada.
    THX.

I was interested but I don't have an hour to waste for you to get around to your 20 minuet trick. Good by.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dee Talashoma says:

Buddy, the Land Rover is made now by the Indian Co. Tata motors in India.
Sorry, it's not European any longer.
    Stay sharp 👍😁

Ray, my wife now, believes you are real mechanic. She heard the mechanic speak.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars user0118 says:

Have you considered just putting a bit of silicone lube on the old Schrader valve o rings if they otherwise look intact? Thinking of ways to cut down your overhead.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Ruberton says:

I have no cooling.. run rpm to 3200 have excellent air Conditioning for rest of day. Shut it off do ramps then fine until shut off again

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars np4tch says:

    Ray, Land Rover = Ford

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars eric kestner says:

All Freon sinks to lowest point as it is heavier than air

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars eric kestner says:

You replace the valve stem is that they are notorious for leaking when reusing the O-ring.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Cerlenizza says:

While all the environmental warriors are running around screaming at you when you let go refrigerants into the atmosphere you may be surprised to know that the NEW gases like 134A and 1234 are neither ozone depleting OR global warming gases. That’s why they are so expensive and run at much higher pressures etc. It’s just that the EPA people are reluctant to give up their authoritarian power and rely on peoples ignorance to maintain their power base.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars spelunkerd says:

Nice demo! At your shop, is your machine dedicated to one type of refrigerant? When refrigerant is removed, do you put the same refrigerant back into the car? Is there any kind of safeguard to prevent sharing of refrigerant between vehicles, and to prevent the occasional jackass customer from contaminating your machine with propane derivatives?

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Tutty says:

Really well done work, Ray. I suspect your customers realized they had found a good, honest mechanic who is to be trusted, and better to get it fixed than risk total failure of the rest of the system on their fancy BMW.
I have what you may think of as the exception to your rule about European Cars. There is little in the world that could be easier than my 1990 Volvo 240DL wagon. As long as you do not need to touch the hater blower or heater core, they are the simplest of cars. Timing belt, tensioner, water pump, and all 3 front seals can be done in less than 2 hours, start to finish. I have to admit that the 17 litres of brake fluid to flush the lines is a bit much, but not difficult.

All your vids are compulsive viewing …. BUT can you please correct apostrophe on the thumbnail of this video? Thanks

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ozmacguyver says:

Hahahaa, that refrigerant detection device reminds me of the sniffer machine Ritchie Ritch's Dad used!!

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jwilson044 says:

Don’t worry too much it will be back soon for more repairs

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nate P says:

If you can't take superheat. and subcool, best bet is weigh out and weigh in.

R134 doesn't have any chlorine in it anyway. Even if it did leak it won't damage the atmosphere. Dumb people making dumb laws.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars roythearcher says:

Ray…You are a good mechanic but you also like to contradict yourself! You say that working on the Rover would be a welcome departure from the normal day to day stuff, then you moan about working on "Europeans?"
Dude! what do you want? accept the challenge!

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars desertsidewinder says:

LR unsursprisingly a nightmare to work on
and you sir are admirable for being so cheerful
    but suspect closet masochist nevertheless

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lawman says:

Never buy a British car. Or German. They are great. U til they break

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Tam says:

The Discovery is one of the most unreliable vehicles on the road. It beggars belief that people keep buying them ! Shocking build quality and reliability, whilst paying top dollar for the privilege. After sales service isn’t much better

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ahoy there mate says:

Ray the series 2 land rover was used in the Australian army they were bullet proof as in really good and would get you through anything even towing a half ton trailer i love the old land rovers they just keep going and i own1

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave George says:

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dan's Learning Curve says:

So, the machine allows 5 minutes of leaking refrigerant into the atmosphere!

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeffrey J. Horebe says:

2 things. That 1234yf IS NOT cheap, like $35 per pound & that Rover has PA inspection stickers and he's in FLORIDA lol

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars skunkhome says:

There is not enough money to pay me to own a Range Rover.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cathal O Mealoid says:

Those plastic shields and their retainer clips are pigs. If you think that was tight for space, you should look up changing a turbo. It’s really a Ford by the way 😂

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cathal O Mealoid says:

Man you were so lucky to recover that valve.
