YOU USED BRAKE CLEANER ON THE HEADLINER!!!!????
What a miserable job to have to do, that is just impossible, there just is no way way to get that back together like new. You showed tremendous patience, and kudos for posting it.
FANTASTIC JOB…. KUDOS FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
Awesome!!
You have a smart phone which takes photos. Good work anyway.
Maybe get the motor from the old unit and send that home with the customer. A “throw it on a shelf in the garage” spare part that may bring you a repeat customer if the motor does eventually go out. This Jag looks like the owner plans for a “till the wheels fall off” romance type existence.
Great video!!
Finally done!!
Hate it when parts are delayed or whatever!
🤠👍👍
Ommmm!
I will only buy common American cars..
Ommmm!
I will only buy common American cars!
😉
I have to hand it to you Ray, there is absolutely no way that I would have tackled that job . I would have just grabbed my cordless angle grinder and found somebody's unattended car and cut a patch out of their roof , allowing for about 2 inches bigger than the sun roof. Then I would have taken a full cartridge of sealant and applied a very liberal bead around the sunroof and then firmly pop riveted it down. Look mum , no leaks…This is just to illustrate how much I detest sunroofs. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Rain i sure hope you get a good tip from the owner..show him this video. I think this job would have had my O.C.D. driving me nuts..I'm alot like you..do the job perfect every time or not at all. That is why stress leave was invented for guys like you and me. Love your professionalism and your positive attitude..I never tire of your videos..watch at least 2 a day. They really relax me after a rough day at work. I appreciate your efforts.
Aaaaaaaaaand now I want to watch Austin Powers. Thanks Ray!
My sunroof did this. I just permanently sealed it shut. Still have a glass sunroof. Only stays closed. No problem.😁
What an end to the trilogy! Wonder how many jag-ewer mechanics twisted and turned watching this! Ray did a fantastic job (I’ll let the visor slide since the roof panel was reclothed)!
Thanks for your video. I have a sunroof in my Toyota Highlander and I never knew soo much came with the sunroof. Mine has lights and mirrors and God forbid, if I ever have to replace them. I would send my car to you, since you already have experienced the drama. 😀 Thanks again for your videos. I've learned soo much from watching and saving your videos. Have a Great Day as Always!!!
Please use RainX! Applied correctly it works.
In the U.K. the value of that car would not justify the cost of the job to replace the sunroof cassette. Would be interested to know the cost of this job in Florida?
That JB plastic glue, us pretty darn good.
A hot glue gun would work great for holding down that wire
loom.
That Jag has been a very tough project. Old car, hard to find parts and crispy old plastic trim buts that break. Great job Ray and once again your patience helps you to achieve a great result.
I hope you remembered to plug in the drain hoses!!!
Ray, I'm impressed by how you didn't get frustrated with the complicated repair & 'lazy out', or start taking shortcuts, just to be done with it. Seen 'mechanics' do that before.
I would have use a marker just outline where the wire's go
You have the patience of a god. No way I wouldn’t have shredded that car thing to get pieces out much less putting replacement parts back.
What did you use to get the fingerprints and stuff off the headliner
Definitely looks like a two man job
Anything from California is trash and overpriced, but they expect you to pay more because it came from somewhere near hollywood, the land of broken dreams and screwing over.
Does anything good ever come out of California? Haha
Satan invented sunroofs.
Not sure how much you made on that job but that's what they get for buying a Jag
Great job and awesome video!!!
Ray you have broke me lol everything is Powering Down Now .!!!! My family is tired of me saying it
It blows me away just how much trim had to come off of that vehicle to replace that sunroof.
How did you break thar sunvisor bracket? It's 13 year old plastic, that's how. Not really your fault, it would have happened anyway!
I’m so happy we finally finished this one Ray!
It wasn't just any air it was California Air, possibly a little polluted… LOL
Ray welcome to getting parts from ca. I deal with this all the time. I call for parts they tell me once thing it comes and they either give me a different part or it’s broken or beyond repair
I need a Xanax after watching this!
sun roofs are from satan.
A broken plastic tab on the sun visor. While you wait for eBay parts, try the JB Weld Plastic Bonder to fix it. It may be a handy fix in the future.
Where did you source that LB weld product with the internal mixing probe? I can't find it anywhere. ("JB weld plastic high strength plastic bonder") Huh? Huh?
I would say this takes great mechanic skills!
For your broken sun visor you had the glue to repair it with. 3M make a glue that's use to hold Corvettes together. It's called panel Bond it's tougher than plastic welding.
Sorry, not surprising for my state California… quality of service sucks…. Customer service is hard to find… sorry
Jobs like that are always such a chore. And you can never seem to get things back together factory perfect.
But were it me, I would have pulled the seats out. Gives you much more room to work and you might find a peanut.
You know the first one was fine. It never rains in Southern California.
Ray you should have followed your own advice & taken pictures of the harness layout before removing it.
Many years ago, my Nissan Maxima (1995 model, I think) the sun roof would not close and was stuck in the open position fully back. Dealer had to hand-crank it closed, but it did not seal all the way. Duct Tape was my temporary fix. Dealer quoted for a full sunroof replacement, saying it wasn't fixable. Found a part # for a rebuild kit for the track hardware. A few hours labor, and it worked good as new.
What was the place in CA ? So I know to never order anything from them like ever LOL
Man, the patience you have is unreal .
God damn Jaguar and their god damn parts !
Great work in getting the sun roof in
Welcome to parts from CA
Jags suck
Ray you are such a pro at car repairs, directing and filming. This video proves it all. Great work on the Jag. Especially since it was a month ago you disassembled it.
Most importantantly, you show up for work and you get things DONE!!!
THAT IS CALLED DEDICATION!!!
I hope everyone around you sees this code of honor! If they don't, they are the real fools!!! 🗽🇺🇸
So that's what rain looks like.
I been waiting for this video lol. I was getting Curious lol
Well, did that take care of the feaking leak????? You never did say!!!!!
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band – Everything is Broken – YouTube Almost.
I wanted to see the new sun roof working…..Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Nice job still gotta test it wit water tho!
Just so you know, refusing to acknowledge this is only making you look guilty. This is all being recorded and documented for legal issues. You really need to resolve this before i send it to my lawyers. This isn't a joke as I have proof YOU told me I won a truck from you.
Take note, dont buy a car with a stupid sunroof ! They are not worth the trouble you will eventually have.
Unbelievable ! Whoever sent this needs a foot up the arse.
If it was shipped by UPS no wonder it arrived rival beat up in missing parts
Long repair.
take pictures before you take wire harness apart
Does that spray not change the colour of the fabric??? Can you elaborate more please???
Ray, you have extreme patience and a large amount of creativity.
Those airbags are way past their use by date!! 07 it's 2022, they probably won't work when needed, should change em
You need an aloominum magnet they sell um with metric adjustable spanners and dehydrated water! 😄👍
Ray… I'm waiting for a response before I call my lawyers. Where is my truck?
I have Telegram messages from you saying you don't scam your viewers and that I won a truck. Are you not even going to acknowledge this in ANY way?
Great job done Ray on the repair to Jaguar 🐆 back to life click click best wishes from Ireland hope the weather is good in the States Loud Noises in Ireland too best wishes Declan O Shaughnessy 👍👍👍
they put that in at the factory, when the inside is a big empty space!!!
As Paul Harvey would say and now we know the rest of the story. I was wondering about this project thx Raymond
Using the post office box, not to send stuff through the post office, is actually a federal violation….it's not packing material, and someone spent a fortune to ship junk! real smart. oy vey
You did well to only break small part of sun-visor………
That's not camera gravity, its special effects.
As I get into this one, I have to say even before you attempt to install this USED and quite possibly big mistake of a fix, that ebay sells brand new tracks which seems to be a better fix as one of the problems I've read about with this particular problem is that the tracks get old and brittle.
To me it's like taking the liver from a donor that's 100 years old and putting it into a young man.
I don't see this going well and I would like to know what kind of warranty your company will be providing on this fix.
If I were the owner of that car I'd be asking the same questions and wondering why you didn't use new parts.
Ok, now I will watch the rest of the "horror show" (Just kidding).
NOW, you're at the point of the finding that this piece of crap part is useless.
WHO made the decision to even go this way?????!!!!
Bad choice!!
But, hopefully in this fix, YOU will go ahead and get the new parts from ebay.
Now I see that you have another used unit.
The new tracks from ebay even come with the grease.
I'll be watching to see if you grease this one as well but with what kind of grease?
It is not clear what type of grease it is. Maybe just some standard silicone?
Ok, I'm watching further…………………This is better than watching an episode of "Better Call Saul".
All Jaguars belong in junkyards.
Fabulous!
Is it me, or a trick of lighting, but it seems that the new headliner, A-pillar covers and the sun visors are three different colors. Don’t think it would come from the factory that way???
Hey Ray. You awarded me a truck but will not tell me how to get it. WTF?
And this is why I won't buy a car with a sunroof, too much hassle when they go wrong. Climate control negates needing a sunroof.
The never ending Jag sunroof!
Don't remember how the wiring was on the top of the liner? If only you had a video that showed the removal process so you could just look at what it looked like before you pulled it apart…
Nope not a job for me
All I can say great work you are one of a few good people another true American Bill N LI NY
That vice has seen things lol
Thank God your getting paid to do that, I would have smashed the crap out of it through frustration after five minutes.
haha trying to get the tip in on the first try!!! lolz
What about the AirBag?
our backup daily of a 2003 honda civic has a sunroof that somehow works perfectly still. Yet everything newer than 2010 that we've owned has had at a minimum of 1 replaced sunroof.
Does anyone know to what Radiostation Ray is listening to in the shop and if it has a online Stream available ? Greetings from a German mechanic
Ray, your issues with flashlight gravity are the stuff of legend. 😛
Ray, glad to see you enlist the help of another mechanic. Wish you'd done it when moving the old one out and the new one in! Reduce the odds of things gone wrong. Heck, some seat covers and moving blankets also might have protected the interior from possible screw up.
Man that looks like a nightmare. No way I would tackle something like that. Good job 👍
REEEEE ABUSING THE WARRANTY. BAD PERSON
