Quite letting people get to you dude lol. Dude probly isn't even a mechanic just a miserable person who does nothing but correct people unessiarily on the interwebs. However I've dealt with some stuck oil filters and it does help to lube the o ring and not all of us got the fancy tools to get stuck filters off. So really doing either is a matter of want and opinion your a great mechanic dude. But don't let people get to you so bad lol.
I finally did it. It's taken me weeks but I went back to your very first video and took it all the way up to the point where I started watching about 7 months ago. It's been a trip. You obviously hated the dealership and didn't much care for that second place, but I think you're pretty happy where you are now.
Since I worked at Goofy lube for about a year one of Luke text that I worked with. That sold me my first car on 86 Lincoln Town car. I could run transmission fluid in the engine crankcase as a engine flush. I remember this pink red fluid going in and a black mess coming out. Would you recommend doing this to a modern vehicle? Thank you for your time sir.
Good job pre lubed the filter, forgot to seal the o-ring with with permatex ๐. And now for real, ๐ค what was the white stuff on the frame that was getting the brake fluid treatment?. And I love the song what's the name of it who sings it.๐ค๐๐.
There you go that is definitely a way to lube the o-ring and also giving a little oil in the filter. Since it is transmission fluid it will not hurt the engine because people use Marvin's mystery oil and that is just transmission fluid.
I'm sorry, I follow your videos, you are one of two channels I have notification on. But I see a ticktrash logo, I give a thumbs down. Ticktrash belongs on ticktrash, not here
So that's what I have been doing wrong all these years… lube the o ring and partially prefill the oil filter with transmission fluid! Thank you Ray for pointing out my mistake.๐๐
Only one criticism ray,I use a couple of dry wall screws just to make sure the filterstays tight, might want to consider that next time ๐
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ forgot the loctite ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ keep up the great content sir.
Why did you dip it in a jug of atf
You sir, are a monster! lol
that's gold ๐คฃ
Dang it that boy ain't right Peggy
well lubed
I watched it more than once and laughed every time..
Okay now loc-tite the drain plug and cut it flush to the oil pan with a grinder. There ya go. ๐

Can you hear me now?
Is everything okay at home ray?
Nice to see you finally pre-filled an oil filter and use "new" oil to lube the O-ring. Boo to the nay-sayers Ray, you are truly a legend ๐ณ
Type F. Capital F that is.
Soak it for three days
I'm seeing a much deeper meaning here. LOL. That made my day. And my week. Labor Day weekend Follies. I love it.
We used to add tranny fluid to oil to clean an engine and quiet lifter noise.
>you're
Lmao dunks it in transmission fluid
Nah, still needs more lube
You spelled "your" wrong.
Now thatโs proper lubrication. ๐ฆ Keep up the great work.
So, your dad only let you drive the car down the driveway on Saturdays……Huh??
"I'm an excellent driver!"
"How many toothpicks"???
Somebody must have 'Reeeee'd' once too many!
Bua hahaha ๐ love it. Keep up the comedy for the sensitive haters. ๐
If I have a Toyota, do I need to use the WS ATF, or just an Asian compatible fluid?
Shit been doing it wrong all these years, thanks Ray for showing me .๐
Deepest apologies Ray, social media has to take the Blame for this reaction
That guaranteed a moist gasket. ๐๐
Whats that spray you used to clean the oil from the area afterward? Does it work on coolant and is it safe for electrical components?
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Hmm what's wrong hear not the obvious of shortcutting maybe using transmission oil. Ding ding Winner winner chicken dinner ๐
(In Ahrolds voice), you silly man you make me laugh ha-haha-haha!
LOVE IT! Full of detergents……
Got eeem!!!
Got eeem!!!
Big brain move here.
Hey, ATF works just as well as Mystery oil
Hell yeah rayโs not only an expert auto technician, heโs an expert troll technician. Keep feeding them trolls ray!
REEEEE! Ray! You canโt do that! How could you!?
Been doing it wrong my whole life. Now I know. Also loctite on the drain plug. Thank you.
I simply saw the title of this short come across my screen, busted up before watching!
go jump toaster

lol just lol
lol transmission fluid, ultimate troll.
๐ ๐คฃ ๐
Stay dirty and greasy.
Straight into the ATF… I'm dying ๐คฃ
I know why you did this… it is just another opportunity to break out the BRAKE CLEAN!!
Some say he showers in brake cleaner
Imagine a guy who canโt differentiate between your and youโre and this same person thinks he has the higher authority

I donโt mean to be annoying but I do have a book from 1973 that says to lube the o ring with clean oil. It is better than using used oil at least.
You can never have enough lube ๐
I love how people will comment things like that even after you always show yourself doing that lmao
๐ ๐คฃ
External transmission filter?
the wise choice is using ATF to lube the filter seal… keeps it nice and supple ๐
When haven't you lubed an oil filter gasket? Screwing it into place where the mating surface is coated with oil still counts.
๐คฃ๐๐๐คฃ๐๐
Forgot the thread lock.
And to me the funniest part was the oil smoked hand. lol
Your supposed to lube the o-ring with permatex!
Good and lubed now lol
Awesome
What a sloppy job
There you go that is definitely a way to lube the o-ring and also giving a little oil in the filter. Since it is transmission fluid it will not hurt the engine because people use Marvin's mystery oil and that is just transmission fluid.
Just making me laugh. Always appreciate that ๐
๐คฃ๐คฃ
LOL
Itโs just cleaning the motor. (Rings Pistons lifters oil galleys ect) ATF is petroleum Based! Just DONT RUN ENGINE on Straight ATF!!! 25%mix maximum
Ray does it as a joke. Other car repair guys will use it as a symptom of an "oil leak".
Lube you are oil filter o rings?
Still forgot the silicone lube to seal it from leaks ๐คฃ
Seriously, throw a little old oil on the new filter tho, no cap.
To add cleaners to the oil system?
Give 'em what he wants, Ray!๐คฃ๐คฃ
Also, I don't want to be that grammar snob, so…I'll let you handle that as well.
๐คฃ๐คฃ
๐๐คฃ
Reeeee!
Lubing like that significantly decreases any chance of clicks, but exponentially increases the chance of gravitational influence.
you put that filter in transmission fluid.!!!!!
REEEEEEEEEEE….
We all know you really just wanted an excuse to use more brake cleaner.
Love it, well done Ray.
You half right.
Good for you Ray. Like your shorty's
NO, NO, NO. Not shorts like this, or dad cargo shorts.
I'm sorry, I follow your videos, you are one of two channels I have notification on. But I see a ticktrash logo, I give a thumbs down. Ticktrash belongs on ticktrash, not here
It toke a second to it but lol funny
Brake Clean Mafia approved!
Canโt fault you Ray โค๏ธ๐
LMAO Ray you did it wrong youโre supposed to use sealant to make sure it doesnโt leak
your oil filter cant leak if he is already covered in oil when installing
Learn the difference between youโre and your then maybe Iโll listen to you.
๐ thatโs fantastic
So that's what I have been doing wrong all these years… lube the o ring and partially prefill the oil filter with transmission fluid! Thank you Ray for pointing out my mistake.๐๐
Do you spray your hands with brakekleen to get the oil off?
Oh No oil on my fingies.
Trolling the idiot that said to lube the oil filter.
