I love a clean engine bay. I like tire foam and then the hose to make surface parts shiny real quick.
Surprised you didn't pit a new belt on when you had all that out of the way.
🤩🤩🤩
And sometimes you have to fix the second problem to find the first problem. Haha.
I like pumping up the coolant system with lots of pressure and blowing out worn hoses and thermostat seals.
Ray that hose protection sleeve looks very similar to what we used to protect cable looms in aircraft. A tip to remove or move it is to push it together and shuffle it. This relaxes the weave and allows the tube of material to open up in inner diameter, when you pull on it the opposite occurs the weave closes up and it contracts around whatever it is over. Its a bit of a faff to do but we didn't have the option of digging into a cable loom with a knife. Great video as always
Is that engine bay build for a V12 since there's so much space between the fan and the radiator?
I have scissors in my toolbox
Wednesday the seventh of Sept. my son purchased a 71 Ford f100. It has 68 thousand miles on it, It is a 302 ci, automatic, after market air and an am/fm/tape player. A great looking old truck except the paint is Texas sun burned. Looking at the van you are working on and looking under the hood of that truck it is sad how much stuff they have added.
It didn’t need a radiator……
Tom Macdonald in the background.. Man. He is asking to make somebody mad.
A van is a machine, so 100% machine.
Ok, I'm only a little over 3½ minutes in, and I see a potential long term problem here. When Ray was over at the radiator hose work area, he panned over the radiator cap opening that clearly had green anit-freeze, but it had either Dex-Cool in the overflow tank, or the water in it was some sort of rusty brown, possibly both. Ok… back to the show…
Nice and Shiney
I would love to see a video of tracing down an emissions problem in a 2002 Toyota Tacoma. Probably not in Florida. I wouldn't think Deathsantis would have any emission requirements in that state.
Wouldn’t 3 lines at once be doodleydoo cubed?
Tom Macdonald in the background.
That truck is a carpet steam cleaning wagon. The pump in the back is usually powered by a small car engine (which also heats the water)
Adding to the confusion there's usually a separate one way water circuit for the cleaning system to the vacuum head
I don't know what that was, loud noises… followed by congratulatory clapping… musta been good!
Dude went ree
hope you watched for leaks before wash engine.:)…3phones meant you got CUBED
OMG, Your washing the engine without makeing sure water does not get into an electrical wiring connections. your encourageing rust and corrosion to form in the electric system wireing.
Dude yall do motorcycle alignment… thats righteous.
spawns in as a lv 10 mechanic but toxic trait has beef with the phone
UV Dye is much faster, just sayin.
I must have missed you putting the PCV back on during repair, after you pointed out the error code that might bring the vehicle back in if forgotten….
Is there a reason for not replacing the belts while you had it opened up?
Truck mount carpet extractor…
Damnit bro. While I really do enjoy your videos. Truly, they bring a smile to my face and I can listen to you effing monolog while I do my job. The only thing that is killing me, is the Phone in the shop. Every time and I mean every time I hear it ring I start saying "do0dled0odleydoo0" and for that I hold you solely responsible.
But Thank you for the content man. I do appreciate it. I also bought stock in Break cleaner.
Run the machine in the back and make sure the heat exchanger is not leaking into the radiator system. It can overpressurise pressurize the coolant system.
You should tell the guy his hose is hosed 😁😁
Screw clamps used to be very good. First they were made of chrome plated spring tempered heat treated steel. Cheaper ones weren't chrome plated. These last forever. Then the best were made of stainless steel. These also just lasted. The laat box of screw clamps I bought were soft mild steel. I was able to buy some good ones at the parts store, but soon those gave way to the soft steel. The way Ray bent that back over the screw showed that these clamps are soft mild steel.
I rarely say the old stuff was better, but this is one time I will.
I had a lot of the Good Ol'Days. I like now just fine, thank you. I will be 83 in 4 months.
Cars earlier than 1980 should only be driven in parades.
Could have slided the protective net to the other side of the hose, seems it had plenty of room there
I know the engine bay is basically open to the outside environment, but what about all the electrical stuff & sensors when flooding everything with a hose? It doesn’t matter, I guess?
Same applies in the electronics industry, the first problem is almost always created by the second problem.

i like starting on the hardest mode it gets easyer when you lower the game mode
What about water spots??
1st class very kool great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
funny about the water hose used for the coolant…..ive worked at every dealership in my city and that is all what they use to mix there coolant 50/50 with straight out of the garden hose
I hate working on vans. Almost rather see a mini roll into the shop.
I know you are in Florida but your accent says you are from Michigan. 😀
Why no brake cleaner Ray? Your arms got all oily…
Dear God, I wish people would delete the fan clutch in these vans and go electronic fans. It's ridiculous having to remove a bazillion parts just to remove a fan shroud.
What has been your most difficult diagnosis?? Most difficult repair?? Most stubborn part to replace, hubs are a pain, but what else?
So how much was a genuine GM radiator?
Customer states, “engine is wetter now than when they brought it in.” 😜
I see van, my brain says, umm nope. Kudos to your bravery on that battlefield. 🫡 I hope you remembered that pcv connection so you don’t throw the dreaded P0170 code.
Didn't see the reconnect of the PCV valve, did I just not see it??
Good job…intensive…
Seriously?
A water-cooled washer pump?
Well, I do declare.
Ah. Carpet cleaning machine made by Hydramaster. PTO clutch driven to be more specific. I’ve got a lot of experience with these types of machines. They take a real toll on the vehicle they’re mounted in. Van can have 5-8K engine hours after just a coup years. Decent idea, but most operators don’t maintain the vehicles like they’re supposed to. GM has suggested maintenance intervals? Good. Cut those in half right off the bat. 7500 miles on oil? Nope. 3000.
Best auto Channel ever I learn a lot from it thank you .
Big points to the young guys. They've got shit to work on that I never even had nightmares about.
listening to tom macdonald, good man.
Ray really had some confidential information lol
One of our senior techs at the shop had the company work truck which was the same one you're working on in this video same setup he put a radiator in it and an upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose and it took like five attempts to get the air out of the system so hard to get out of this fan and kept showing that it was overheating even though it was just pockets of air that were trapped in the system it was taking forever to travel out even using the vacuum fill system
the best
My first wife used to run hot
When she stopped- I traded her in
Anyone else find themselves doing the 'Doo-dah-doo-dah-doo' thing everytime the phone goes off in these videos?😂
Psychoanalysis? Like a Freudian hose clamp?
How about this t shirt.
My nutz got damaged by gravity.cuz gravity is said alot by yas
Water pump leak
I'm waiting for the day when they change the ringtone just to mess with you.
Mr Waylon emmett is the best recommending him to all beginners who wants to recover losses like i did.
REEEE if you had an AirLift it would have stopped filling when it got full.
Also, for God's sake, buy a set of nutdrivers! To me, the #1 attraction of nutdrivers is "socket will never fly off and bounce around into some crevice."
Funny how the Rainman Ray's editor voice is deeper than the on video Rainman Ray's voice is. It's like he purposely does it. It reminds me of Ted Baxter on Mary Tyler Moore.
Do da do far away one hilarious 😂
One question guys! Is it okay to wash the battery like that? I mean, it wont go bad?
One of the transcooler line clips was sitting on the battery after everything was installed. Did I miss something. It was right before the spray down of the vehicle.
Interesting to see your method of putting bolts everywhere after removals. Edited out replacements necessary I suppose, when you hosed down engine compartment I wondered about your retrieved oil and trans clips I saw one on the battery.
I enjoy your enlightening videos. The clarity and quality are some of the best I've seen. I and other viewers could protect our purchase buying power if you would include the cost of the repair you are making or recommending. If not possible, how about a price range that would be fair to the customer for the repair being covered? GB
Reee reee reee! Is that old coolant environmentally friendly? I only asked because tree huggers have taught me to be conscious of all fluid spilled or dumped rather than collected and recycled, and we didn't see you collect any of it. Presumably to be washed out to the parking lot or mopped up and poured down a drain (either sewage or storm).🤫😏
Just use dye
"I almost got slapped in the face with a giant hose" – That's what she said!
You sir, are a riot! Love your YouTube channel. I do a lot of talking when working on my vehicles, but mostly XXX rated.🥴
What kind of loser ass radio station do you guys listen to where you are from that they play Creed? That band was a laughing stock when I was back in highschool,I thought everyone kinda hated them like nickleback.
Is that thermostat directly on top of the AC. What a bad design if there is a leak
You got a van?
If I get a van we can be men with ven?
Ray, you really makes things Look Easy, I would have already Damaged my Salvation with many expletives used on this Job…
Delco Part Made in Mexico or China…
I am 95% sure you have had this van in before?
a very interesting video thankyou Ray,👌👍
WHAT? A video with no brake cleaner?
What no Brake Clean in this episode–Major failure😎
WOW What a mechanics nightmare! If I saw that coming it would be a Great week to put in for vacation, 🙂 Thanks for the Vids!
What a pile of junk give me old school motors .
Man brother Ray I thought I had all the tools! That is a really cool hook the way it shaped! LOL now I want one 🙂
Ray you need a garden watering apparatus!! Doo to do lol
Ray you are an energetic guy! Keep up the great videos!
swapping the engine on my motorbike and got motorbike gravity, not good 🙁
The small diameter tubes that go into the expansion bottle are (usually) bleeders, if they're blocked air trapped into the radiator (and elsewhere) can't escape. Me thinks you should check these too.
