Mechanic garages just run down a list of parts to replace and charge between 3 and 5x as much, untill you run out of money and they still never find the problem .
If your going to do mods or high performance you better be good at inspecting everything yourself .
Example grooved and slotted rotors with ceramic pads on brakes .
They are great for 2 months then they are shit .
Once the drilled and slotted areas are worn over they are worse than regular rotors they also heat up a lot and burn off the grease on the caliper pins causing a seize .
So they require 4x the maintenance metal pads with regular rotors
You did not inspect the ball joints correctly, you need to unload them by lifting at the lower control as far out as possible
Bros 1 inch from death
Needs titled, dealer didn't want to find it.
IF YOU CANT DODGE IT, RAM IT. PUT A DODGE IN YOUR GARAGE.
It is a ram, dont ask why the dealer cant find the noise. both the dealers and the engineer of that company are not that great
Dealer cant finf it cause it was modified by lift kit ECT
See this every day with these fiats
I would just replace everything- most sus parts first obviously
Smol PP pavement princess 👸 💅
If the dealer couldn't find the problem, ask if he can read.
I hate it when they pry on the lower balls 😂
Yeah but it looks cool…
He said something about lower balls, I have the same issue.
I added 10 ply tires to my stock 1998 Dodge ram. U-joints went out pretty quick. The guy at the tire place later told me the tires were very heavy from being 10 ply and when doing that you should upgrade your suspension and u-joints. I run everything stock now no more four by fours
This is why unless you're ok with destroying a truck or have tens of thousands to burn, lifts are absolutely micro brain and incredibly stupid. Nobody thinks you look cool, and you compromise the practicality of the truck.
A lifted truck with driveline issues. Who ever heard of such a thing?
Dealership’s don’t employ mechanics they employ fitters
My brothers truck made it 180k with 9" lift and 38s under it from about 5k on. Ate wheel bearings and ball joints but just did cv shafts before he sold it. Buy all 4pc. You will be mad even if you get them apart.
😂 Survey says: No moving lower ball's! Lift kit's wear everything out if not originally designed for it.
i love the way suspension move & absorp the shock # 👍🇵🇰
as i understand the joint of shaft connecting the transmission & rear differential has issue !!!
Man I usually love your videos but what was wrong with the U-joint?
Can't waste money any better than buying a Dodge
The driveshaft has a grease fitting that never gets greased on those dodges
HEMI WRECK U JOINTS…YUP
Crying out loud….Fix What is WORN..Out…
I'd only buy lifted truck for factory like gmc at4
MOTION IN THE LOWER BALLS?
Yha there is a difference in experience and books and schools thanks for the video
Your first clue was all the powdered rust around that slip joint.
He said lower balls 😂
Cv shaft
“Lower balls” 😂 I’m stupid I know !
The nut on that lower ball joint was clearly loose 🤦🏻♂️
Longhorn 2019..70,000 miles manifolds crack ..lifters fail…both have been problem for years and Ram new about it and the upgrades are failing at its out of your pocket at the tune of $5,000.. Hemi 5.7 ..Truck cost $66,000 new..motor warrante 50,000..
It always gets me when people don't understand engineering and put on after market parts that will wear out items way faster. Of course if you try to tell most people that drive these trucks around that its dumb they look at you puzzled.
Haha, he said motion in these balls.
A short video on why you need a good mechanic. You can not check lower ball joints with the wheel on the ground. Those lift arms are only good if you place a pedophile under the truck. And the SUPER WOBBLY cv joint . Is cause for a lot more than just concerning
I have seen more than one front diff replaced on these trucks because the front axle becoming very loose in the diff!
Is there a dealership that doesn't suck?
Those front stub shafts are always bad on lifted dodges
The rust coming out of that spline joint means its moving inside there where it shouldnt be
That angle on the outer CV 💀
1 word JUNK 2 words MADE CHINA
Ram products are garbage to begin with. Then you go and put all that lift crap in there with those heavy stupid wheels. You will have all kinds of joint problems
Wheels/tires killed suspension
First garage I worked at, this old guy showed me tons of tips & tricks. I was always wanting to modify/ make it better, that sort of stuff, drove the guy crazy. Finally one night he leaned back on the bench, pushed his cap up, looked me right in the eye, and said: "Son, what makes you think you know more than the factory?" I thought about him every day of my working life….
That is a VERY clean looking car. Although I guess I am from quebec where it's kinda important to grease your car for the winters
If youre gonna lift it like tha expect ro replace axles and ball joints constantly.
Solid axel should be installed
People will pay $60-$80k for a truck and it gets delivered with rust problem build in, (paint or treatment missing from multiple under vehicle suspension units and poor paint quality from chassis
I just keep my vehicle stock. Even putting aggressive tires on is pointless. I don’t have a small you know what so need to lift my truck. I’m confident 😂
Ram hahahaha piece of shit to start with
With that style of suspension you need to put a jack under the strut assy to support the weight. Then pry it. Checking it how you did with the wheels sagged cause it's lifted with a two post loaded that balljoint up and it appeared tight. Check things properly bud or someone's gonna get hurt
I just did my cvs and wheel bearings after 250k with a lift and bigger tires. 😂
Fk the dealership… Chrysler/dodge at most too.. I will NEVER walk in another one, I'll fix my Own shit. If I have to change every gd bolt, wire, component to find the problem I'm ok with it. Nothing but a shit hole that robs anyone within 150 ft of that fkn place… ignorant cock suckers getting paid to be a fkn goofy fk…. oh.. rant over. … 😂😂😂
Motion in the lower balls.
That’s normal for a Dodge Ram. Every one I’ve seen so far has that or more play.
Yep those none serviceable U-Joints a real pain in the ASS
Garbage trucks
Dealers can't find shit or do shit right in my experience.
If you're going to aste money lifting your truck. Please for the love of God, lift both ends of the truck.
It is not that can't find it, it is just that are not willing to do this xD😊
"Me joints" are much worse!
With the dealership service departments today, if there isn’t a code in the computer, they can’t fix it. There is no such thing a diagnostic today.
If it ain’t a trx don’t bother buying a ram
Dealers will not and won't fix any vehicle that has been modified or has any modifications made to it that's not what came with the vehicle off assembly.
Common problem at the dodge dealer in these trucks nice click bait
How the heck does the dealer not know about this. The splines rust from water intrusion and the CV gets loose as it eats the splines.
The dealer probably found it but didn’t want to touch it as it would probably just come back for the same thing under warranty.
Those angles
Dealer don't want to find it , it'd a dodge!! Like a cheap washer and dryer, throw that shit away man 😅
This was a recall on some rams so idk how the dealership couldn’t find it. Tell that dealer not to sell cars anymore
All that red dust is metal being worn out…..
👎🛻👎🛻👎TRUCK SUSPENSION SUCKS🤮
That doesn’t surprise me at all, my buddy had a obvious engine mount problem the the dealer couldn’t find
Looks like the lower control arm on the passenger side is cracked? Could be just the bump stop
🎶Oh , I want to know where you got the motion. Don't rock the Truck Baby🎵😂
whenever i see that brown rust dust usually thats where is the problem is.
Lift kits are the bane of my highways existence. Silly as costco rims too boot.
Yall are brave for trusting that jack point.
If there's 2 things that kills a purchase on any truck, to me, are lift kits and aftermarket wheels. And this is why.
It’s a lifted 1500 of course there’s issues
How did they not see it? It’s the ugly ass rims that are the problem…
fyi control arm mounts are not ment for jacking a vehicle up
Dealership that’s normal 😅
All good except for you checked the lower ball joints incorrectly.
ProDemand should show you lift points my guy.
You seem like a scam artist. I'm sure a Ford dealership missed all that obvious shit that would make a vehicle undrivable… So note to self
Dealer couldn't find it, cause the warranty was still active on it
My shop finds and repairs these ram cv axle problems all the time. It’s a bad design some how.
Oh there’s definitely motion in these lower balls. Just ask your sister.
Ummm… dealer couldn't see the rust POURING OUT of the spline shaft? WOW. 🤙🇺🇸🇷🇺🧂
Well no shit there's no play trying doing it right next time jack up the controll arm scab job rest is good that was scab work
A lifted truck was cool when I was in my early 20s.
Now that I'm in my 30s and run my own construction business. The lower the better lol. Loading crap in and out of a lifted truck, even a leveled one with 33s or 35s makes everything so much harder then it needs to be.
Little did he know then the migraine that was ahead.
I work for a Chrysler dealership and i can tell you now if they couldn’t find that issue then they shouldn’t be working on vehicles we have done hundreds of diffs and axles in the past couple years through warranty with only 50k kilometres on them it’s a super common isssue especially here in the rust belt good thing to do when you are putting the axles back on put a generous amount of hard grease on the stub shaft before putting the axles back on it will make them last longer also there is a company that makes stub shaft rebuild kits if the vehicle is out of warranty or if your feeling real creative blow three holes in the axle where the stub shaft slides in with a torch get that thing lined up as good as possible and and weld it to the stub shaft either way if that fails they aren’t out anything else because they would need stub shafts and axles anyways
When junkyard parts fitters think they know better than the design engineers, shit like this happens.
