All right! Pop Quiz Thrilled me. This real to me. that can someone please explain to me how is it that we have all these metal chunks and, uh, compressor shavings on this orifice assembly? When down below we have a recently replaced AC compressor unit. We'll have a new unit failing.
Let's see what's on here. Does somebody know how this occurs? We have brand new parts. The system was just rebuilt and there's already metal shavings found in the lines. What do we do? How to get there? Let me know in the comment section down below.
The apprentice gets the blame.
I’ll say cheap parts not original. Most mechanics should know better to flush out the evaporator and lines. Always replace the receiver drier and condenser.
Is Jesus the answer?
After compressor failure
They never cleaned lines and clean filter
The filter was not replaced or cleaned
That's just a slapped on compressor backyard mechanic hack job.😂
sounds like someone skipped the flush
Just change the compressor, sell another compressor
This is a gm vehicle, there's a known issue with ac compressors rn. Revisions coming soon.
She was reliving her sorority days in college 😂
Replace condenser and flush system
You didn't replace the condenser, evaporator, dryer, etc, or back flush the hoses.
We just had this at my shop today. And we have it often. The only remedy in order to give our warranty. We have to replace everything up to the evap core. Compressor. Condenser. Expansion valve. If expansion valve is a dash pull. Then it must be done. Accumulator/drier. Then we will flush the evap core. And flush the lines. Add a new oring kit. And new valves for the high and low side. And that's the only fix. If a customer can't afford this fix or doesn't want to do this. Then we politely tell them we are not able to help them unfortunately. This is the only way to insure complete success.
He didn't blow it out the first time
My work truck is in the shop for this right now. When they cracked it open, said the warranty was invalid if the system wasn't flushed twice and the condenser replaced too.
remains from past system recirculating thru, flush a few times
Didnt also replace accumulater and didnt flush and blow out the system
looks like a paint sprayer filter
Someone did not flush the system after the new compressor was put in
It ain't got no gas in it
Crappy aftermarket parts. Go OEM. more expensive but no reworks
Assuming the initial complaint was a blown up compressor and if the system was flushed the rubber in the lines can still have lodged metal bits, best to replace. Assuming the correct refrigerant charge and oil was supplied. And the whole system needs another flush after replacing the line. But you shouldn’t trust random people on the internet
Did you forget to put oil in the compressor?
No oil?
Remanufactured junk like O'Reillys
Im sure you flushed out the system and back washed it under small amounts of pressure?
New don't always mean good
Insufficient oil charge
system wasnt flushed more than likely, were all 3 parts replaced?
PREVIOUS SYSTEM WASNT CLEANED CORRECTLY MOST LIKELY BEFORE THE SUCTION SIDE REED VALVE CAUGHT IT.. I HAD REPLACED DRIER COMPRESSOR REED VALVES CONDENSER BUT i HAD PIECE STUCK IN PRESSURE SWITCH. KINDA SUCKS
Answer: china!
Even flushing the system is not good enoug.. The last compressor must have sent metal debris through the system, that the whole system should have been replaced
Yea ya didn’t fuckin clean out the system choad boy
it's a Ford lol
Didn’t blow out the lines
Left over from the old compressor. You need to change condenser and clear all lines.
Hoses were NOT replced
You pick, bad part or bad installation or both
You have to flush out the condenser and existing lines or the crap from the previous compressor failure will end up in The orifice tube screen.
Need to replace the whole entire ac system when ac goes out
No flushy flushy the system before reassembly.
improperly cleaned system… someone half-assed the install.
Remember… "New" just means "Untested"
Old shavings from not flushing it out.
Brand new junk. Industrial espionage against your precious bodily fluids. It’s only part of the overthrough.
Spin compressor by hand atleast 60 rotations before installation of new compressor
Didnt replace the condenser as well
Never been flushed out all the way
Didn't evacuate the system .and clean o tube
simple pancake filter in front of orifice tube to catch what we can't flush out.
left over contamination? didnt change filter/dryer? incomplete flush? wrong charge oil/refrigerant?
China made it
Did we not completely flush the system last time? Either that or Chisneseium compressor.
Did flush not flush system
hey Ray it's Ron😮😮 those are the shavings from the old pump that were left in the line😮😮
You didn't flush/ clean the system out before the parts cannon was used.
Because the mechanic is a moron?
A rookie or lazy mechanic never flushed the system after the other compressor self-destructed.
Could have been not flushed very well, or condenser was not replaced and some metal flake worked it way out. You can never fully flush modern condensers. But it could be bad after market or oem compressor.
They designed it to fail!
This is lack of common sense, really!
Yep, didn't flush the system.
Chineseium . Had one fail in 2 weeks this month
You need to talk to the Wizard ! but if I took a guess if you didn't replace all parts of the cooling system, there were metal shavings in the parts of the old system that were not replaced, lodged in them spaces and when you ran it after replacing some of the parts it put the metal shavings you didn't see into the new system destroying it.
Not made in America.
Someone forgot to add the pag oil? That would cause this, as the compressor does not have enough pag oil in it from the factory.
Find a better parts guy I guess 😂
Failed to flush, as well as the a/c condenser unit needs to be changed, you will never get all the metal out of it
Ask china
Lines were not properly flushed after the first compressor failure. And now you are getting debris from that. Which will cause the second compressor to fail too.
U didn't water power wash the line out.
Debris in the system that wasn't flushed out during repairs
Old system
came from china?
Not flushed as everybody said.
No u didn't flush the AC lines after new ac compressor install ur orifice filter caught the shavings floating around in ur ac system so in short the new ac compressor is going to fail soon 😎🖕
Did you flush the system before installing a new one?
It was left In the system somewhere that a part wasn't cleaned ar changed
Flushed?
Just because it's new doesn't mean it works.
You replaced EVERYTHING???? Evaporator too and condenser too?????? Every single line too even hard line? Did you fill it to the proper capacity of oil and distribute it well?
Either the new pump is failing, or you failed to get all the metal shavings out originally
I had the exact same problem happen except it was with a radiator. luckily I caught it before I installed it absolutely chock-full of metal shavings.
No PAG oil added to the NEW compressor if the system was blown out.
My guess would be they forgot to replace the orifice assembly
Did you do a total flush of the system after installation?
Leftover debris. All through the system.
You have metal shavings in the lines and condenser.
Didnt flush after the last compressor blew up
If the pump started to come apart you actually need to physically disassemble the entire system and manually flush each component or line section individually. It's a giant pain, but this is what will happen every single time no matter how well you flush if you don't disassemble.
They don't build them like we used to..
didn't clean the system
You cant clean out all the shavings reliably from an AC system. You literally cant the passages are too small.
debris. Leftover from no /not good flush. Even if flushed ,new compressor with great pressure compared to old ,plus movement/g-force from driving dislodged debris that flush could not. Chances of 2 grenade compresses low
✔✔✔ EAZY ✔✔✔🤔
They rushed it when they should've flushed it🤷♂️
Didnt suck it down
I have found on the chevy trucks that metal collects in the condenser for some reason
Because; when the old compressor failed. They did not perform A/C system Flush.
You will need Automotive grade AC flush Fluid, remove expansion valve and compressor, run the flush thru lines, evacuate all the debris from failed compressor.
Keep in mind if you have a New style cross Flow condenser coil; this can’t be flushed ( you will need to replace the condenser).
This is what we call “Someone just slapping a compressor on a failed unit “.
