When I was a Service Advisor, I would regularly have to check up on tow truck drivers to make sure they put the vehicles where we wanted them. We did have one driver who we recommend to customers that we never had to check up on. He was always nice and treated everyone fairly!

This isn't lazy or thoughtless. Drivers are under a lot of pressure to drop the car and get to the next call, and dispatch will tell you it's your responsibility to move cars on your property. Some companies are worse than others but I'm willing to bet that driver is under considerable stress to do this

Some tow drivers are excellent and some are complete jerks. I was with my son when he was in an accident and needed towed. We had to fight with the driver to get it towed the shop we wanted and not the shop where he was no doubt getting kickbacks.
A few months ago, my starter completely died when I was at a gas station. I told the tow driver that i wanted to do the repair on my driveway and was hoping to get it dropped off with the front facing into my garage. In order to do this, he physically pushed my SUV into a spot where he could load it backwards. He then drove slowly because of the weight distribution. He put my vehicle exactly where I wanted it. When I went to pay, my card wouldn't work. I offered to get my wife who had just got home from work, to drive to an ATM and get cash. He said that my wife must be tired after work and instead gave me his email and asked me to send him the money when I get a chance.

lmao I’ve seen almost the exact same thing, except a FedEx delivery truck dropping off whatever, too a technician’s shop and this is in Auckland, New Zealand on Friday midday our time summer rolling on at 31degC UV maxed out at 9… so yeah block the main road as people are going about xmas shopping etc… makes one wonder, am I getting old and grumpy at 51 or what, seems idiotic place too park a massive truck????
