Let…….Them………Wait.
Hey Ray, I feel your pain! Xenon lamps are the work of satan himself! There is absolutely no space, and for some oblivious reason there are no notches or anything to fit the bulb inside. It just flops around while you are trying to fit some crazy metal clip to hold the peace of crap in place! I had to change both the bulbs on both of my cars within two weaks a couple of years ago. Costs a fortune, and I still remember all the frustration! So this Kia is not an exception.
Replaced light bulbs 💡 ✨️ on my car. Not easy like it used to be
I like when birds clean the bugs off of autmobile grilles.
I liked the good old days when you removed two screws from the outside and had to replace the whole glass headlight. We didn't have trouble with plastic getting all clouded up and have to polish and buff them to see at night, [which never works anyway]. And if we messed up the light directions, we just kept adjusting until cars didn't flash their lights at us when driving at night.
Just kidding, I would adjust and stand way back and see how it aimed. Or have a service station adjust them on their wall chart.
and a Florida freeloaded walks into the shop looking for something for nothing.
THE SHOP CLEAN UP BIRD AT THE END WAS COOL. But from the looks of what he missed, must be a union job.
I was a mechanic a service writer and a shop owner for 30 years. it truly still amazes me how complicated these manufacturers have to make things.. My hat is off to ray, good job, you work and explain things exactly as I did.. When you have to charge somebody a $165 to change out a light bulb that will probably cost Anywhere between $40 and $70 and more, , You really need to know how to explain your yourself to someone as if they were a two-year-old so they could understand. It's tough keeping your integrity intact, and the illusion that you're ripping someone off out of the equation.
So, was that the new apprentise at the very end coming in to staighten up your bay and tools ?
Love the new editing😁😁
I miss my 2007 2.5L Volvo S 60 that I got rid of with 330,000 miles …
That car was an easy to work on tank!
Bulbs we’re a snap… oh well I had to buy a new car…. So far so good.. 125,000 Miles Mazda 3 2015 5 sP 2.5
Cool bird, is it your new helper?
One of the most aggravating car’s to work on with changing bulbs
So stupid
Omg 😱 replacement of a bulb on an 12 Tahoe 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ is a nightmare
I have driven KIA Sedona minivans since 2004. I replaced my first light bulb with the bezel mounted to the van. The second time I had to replace a light bulb I took a different approach. I used a 10 mm socket to remove 3 small bolts. Disconnected the wiring connectors, removed the bezel from the van. This way I could set the bezel down on a towel & replace the bulb much easier as well as faster. Reducing my stress greatly. KIA doesn't give enough room to access the back of the bezel. I am not a mechanic, although I do play one in my driveway. Thanks 4 the videos
What’s a bad boy?
Ray: “low beams always on the outside”… engineers taking note
That bird: Do you think it tastes good?
I have recently retired (March 2021) and happened apon your videos. Ihave always dune the things your doing in your videos myself. Its nice to see that the frustration you face are normal. As an Electrician for thirty three years, I'm not a mechanic.
I also live in a diferent time zone then you and try to be one of the first 100 to tappy tap the thumbs up. I was lucky enough to be the first on one vidio.
Thanks.
why do they continue to make cars more and more difficult to work on?
Volvo bulbs head light comes out with two clips
Very clean
Bird is the word.
Hey Ray, the writing was upside down on the black cover to the headlight housing. That's what the problem was.
This video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work. WOW very interesting 1st class very kool great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great,,,,new cars are crap I agree
If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball
I can't remember when the last time I had a headlight go out and need replacing. Must be at least 25 or more years ago.
If the stylists had to work on the cars they designed, repairs would be a lot easier.
My car is pretty old, but the annoying thing with the halogen bulbs it uses is getting the tip of the bulb into a holder that’s in the light fitting. Using your finger tips to wiggle it into place, hold it, get the retainer to hold it and then shove the wires on. You need 3 tiny midget hands to do it as the space is super cramped and awkward.
Welcome back to another episode of "Engineers
vsmechanics".Things are a lot easier these days in the bulb department. Being from the 2000’s euro world. Used to be bulb, ballast and igniter all separate and all expensive so you had to spend an hour diagnosing so you didn’t throw an $80 bulb at it, then a $300 ballast just for it to be a pinched wire the whole time.
I hate replacing head lights and would like to do something very entertaining to the designers.
While not revealing personal or sensitive information, would it be possible to give approximate costs for your jobs?
You may not want to reveal it due to competitors etc., but it would be interesting if it could be something to consider.
Nice looking Rampage at the end of the video.
Bin Chicken?.
Hey Hyundai Kia, please redesign your lamp cabin so every time we replace a bulb it doesn’t take an hour. Those small round service entry is too tiny.
my ‘00 grand am actually has high and low beam in the same bulb. its a 9007 bulb.
Three years ago I replaced my 18 year old (reliable though old) car with a brand new one. But I just couldn't get used to all the gadgets, lack of actual buttons to turn things on and off in an uncomplicated manner , and the nagging thought of not having a spare wheel ( bottle of gunge and a pump instead). even adjusting the clock was a complicated chore. I sold it 18 months ago and replaced it with a 21 year old near identical car that I had before.
so much more peace of mind. and its a larger engine but more economical on fuel than the new one with a dinky engine! I am now doo dada doo doo ing each time the phone rings in the back ground lol.
Why bother fixing these disposable cars ?
lmao wrenches do fly very well. Besides If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball. Sockets fly very well also. 3/4 inch deep socket is the best
i always move the customers seat back because i am 6'3", i try not to mess with seat height though unless i see a memory button and i confirm that it works
Diggin the dino too.
The wife's 03 Gran Prix was a PITA too. Depending on which side is out, it was easiest and fastest to pull the structural bracing, airbox, battery, squeeze this, rub that, caress there, etc.
I had a 98 new beetle. If you didn't know how to remove the headlight assembly it could take ten minutes. (Thanks Bosch Engineering…) Once you know the trick (unclamp, push in, twist ten degrees, pull) it's a few seconds. The ground on mine was never exactly right, eventually ditched the connector and soldiered the wires onto the bulbs. Never had another issue… (I'd love to see the look on the guy who eventually had to replace a bulb only to find it soldiered in place LMAO)
I was screaming not to touch the glass! Such relief when you said you would not be touching ze glas.
