How do I change the transmission mount on 07 buick lucerne?
Like the video but use your phone only to record then review. Safe first, don't trust the driver =D
Does the engine have to come out to replace these? I have a very special issue. A manufactured oil consumption recall got me approved for an engine swap. Due to parts delays the dealer had my car for 3 weeks going on 2 months ETA, so I took the car out when i first noticed the clank while reversing issue while wating for parts. This is when I first noticed the issue and called to report it and was told nothing was done to the car to cause this but to wait to bring it back fro the swap when they would look at it. During this time my bumper to bumper expired. I took the car back to the dealer, they swapped the engine, but I was still hearing the clank while reversing. Now they are telling me $1700 to swap engine mounts which is not covered. Does this sound fair or right? I'm fighting it, but they've had my car for basically 2 months.
Great techniques, wasn't clear before I watched it
good work thanks nice to watch
good work thanks nice to watch
I had all 4 mounts replaced in my van, like a mth ago , and all was good, then a week ago , I started getting that Clunk
when I put it in drive . Just like before, I have heard they can go bad real quick if they are cheap ones , or if they are not alighned right ,
boy she's annoying
What is a decent motor mount that won't break the bank?
Everybody on the internet is saying that anchor and DEA are junk.
I am not looking to spend $80 at the general motors dealership.
I am not real hard on my car will a anchor or DEA Mount be good enough for me?
Beautiful, getting ready to do this now.
Engine mounts on a Audi 4.2 2004 year
What's the average life of a motor mount?
so nice
When I test my Acura by putting it into D, R, the engine moves as usual. I just don't know why there is noise such as clunk when shifting from P to R, D and so on. The transmission mount I am able to see and it does have some mild cracks on the surface, but not ripped. Other 3 engine mounts are covered with rubber boots which hide the mount itself.
like to see a video of a 2002 f150 ford xl 4.2 6 cylinder truck how to remove the motor mounts please. Thank you.
Acts 21:32 Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
Acts 21:33 Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
Acts 21:34 And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
Acts 21:35 And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
Acts 21:36 For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
Very good video, I just have one question, in the case you don´t know the torque specs for a motor mount, what would you suggest to do? thanks for advance
Thank you Eric! Even though this was filmed in 2016, this is good solid information for 2021 ! Never knew this could happen to an engine bracket. Loved the close-ups and step by step…good video!
Mounts are a favorite of mine. Some can be a bit of a pain but since you can feel the difference when you’re done
Thank you sir for sharing your know-how to us. More power.
I just went thru this with my 2008 Lucerne. I honestly thought it was a problem with the transmission hard shifting. I also noticed that I felt every small bump in the road (I had replaced my struts a bit ago because they were bad). I figured my tranny was going and that I just had poor quality struts. Took it to trans shop and they found the engine mount bad. I guess you learn something every day right? I felt dumb – but I am not a mechanic by trade but like to do all the work (if possible) on my cars. This one just slipped by me.
Runs great now. I guess with the broken mount, Any suspension vibration was amplified because of the lose engine. No more "hard shifts", Runs very nice now.
GM eliminated the torque struts (dogbones) that went from the engine to the upper radiator support starting with the 2000 model year. The result was the front mount doesn't last.
Lmao this is the exact car I'm fixing. 2007 buick lucerne 🙁
First time i seen one your vids without your ugga dugga gun 😮 edit spoke too soon you pulled it out at 10 mins !!! there we go and were done
Can a bad engine mount make sound like a squeking metal like a bad balljoint make? We have our ball joint replaced and the noise is still there. All of the suspension parts are new and still the noise
I Have a 2006 Pontiac Torrent SUV FWD, 3.4L v6, I Just had All Brand New Parts installed.
2 new Struts, 2 new lower control arms, 2 new stabilizer links, 2 new front Wheel Hub bearings, 2 new CV Axle Shafts. But now kinda have new problem as when i put the SUV into (Drive) it's fine, but as soon as i Put it into (Reverse) while holding the brake peddle you Here a Clunk, from the Passenger Side front, and also when driving over bumps on the road ways i can here a popping Sound, had the Struts rechecked and no problems. could it be that the upper Engine Mount cause this Problem.
My car vibrates a lot at idle. Gets worse when I turn the wheel or turn on AC. My local mechanic says 3 out of the 4 mounts are broken. Fixing them should solve this issue?
I wonder Where is his voice coming from?
Panther pee
How about newer ones just recently done
Yeah favorite repair on a 87 eurosport sport sedan 2.5 liter had to change all 3 and the dogbone, same with the 92 pontiac lemans two door coup with a 2.2liter
THANK YOU! ! !
I've got a mazda 2.3l with a bad mount. I've been chasing clunking in the rear since I got the car. Looked closer today and realized it wasn't rear end at all. Had no idea an engine mount could sound like rear suspension is about to drop out
Will engine normally move with out the mount being bad
i just realized that you and eric the car guy are different people -_-
Good job
Does the noise happen also while you're going on uneven ground?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I tested mounts on 07 impala. As soon as it was put in drive, the engine moved/torqued A LOT.
Did not even have to press the gas to see it was moving way too much. Symptom was vibration going down the road especially at certain speeds, 51 mph in this case. Already had tires rotated and balanced and did not fix. There are six mounts in a kit for impala. Some for motor, others for transmission. Thanks for posting.
Excellent video Eric. I am trying to change mine (2007 Lucerne) I can't seem to get leverage on that top bolt using the swivel though. I am afraid I might strip it. Also, do I need that flex head ratchet for that top bracket bolt, or can I get by with a swivel and a short extension? It seemed like you broke that one loose easily. Please advise.
If the mount is bad will it cause front end to shimmy when going down road
What the name of that mount ? Cause looking for that mount and keep give the wrong one , I have the other 2 just that 1
Thank you. This video has saved me $$$. Keep doing what your doing man. Subscribed.
I have a bad mount and it shakes and I drive for Uber and Lyft and every bump I make , it shakes and I’m so tired of it making noise cause my passengers don’t say anything but still it’s embarrassing.
Great video bro 👌🏻, shouldn’t you change both ?
2001 Pontiac Bonneville ssei that clunks just when I accelerate and brake. Would bad engine mount be the problem?
brings to mind a friends 59 catalina; if he accelerated to hard the throttle/pedal went to the floor until the trans shifted. a fun experience. with my 17 year old enthusiasm i decided to put my hand under the linkage so i could stop the throttle from "flooring".. well, i STILL remember that experience! and the PAIN across my 4 fingers!
No threadlocking needed? Thanks for the vid.
I have a knocking back issue when im shifting from neutral to drive. Am i having the same problem?
