I think an idiot at the other shop or the ones that screw this whole car up number one the incorrect battery in there and you should have definitely changed that one earlier ( to THE CORRECT BATTERY ) absolutely change that damn battery out so my conclusion on this I'd send it back to the other shop make them fix it make them flip the bill and make them pay your labor .
It really pisses me off when a A SHOP THAT SHOULD NOT BE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR BUSSNESS that destroyed the electrical system on that car and they are not willing to fix it they are the ones that need fix it , not you it's called taking responsibility and with today's society the way people are such assholes things need to be FIXED THE CORRECT WAY .
Thanks, had all those issues, replaced the module and now everything is working again. The Back seat is THE BIGGEST PAIN TO REMOVE. Push and push those clips down and pull seat straight out. Would have been easy to remove from truck but no GM had to put 2 plastic clips in back of seat. Total BS. Glad it worked so cheers to you!!!
So when should you disconnect the battery/not when you do repairs to your car?
Could something in the DIM on this car make the voltage 15v to 14.9v all the time? Changed alternator no difference. Book says the DIM also ties into the voltage regulation somehow. U seem to know alot about these 3800s. Could u help me?
I have a 01 lesabre custom, the power locks, turn signals, trunk release, key fob, everything in the guage cluster except security light and odo. ,doesnt work, checked both fuse boxes 5 times, nothing bad,any ideas? I'm guessing one or all of the bcm,2 I can get to but cant get to the third,
hey you dropped your module… lol
That AES Wave oscilloscope case looks just like one of my gun cases save for the fancy logo.
Man that thing tiny but it does a fine job
Your out of practice with no drive ins around anymore
That happens with new toys
Everything's fixable including that shop with the sand issue they can see buttons on icecream as granny always said and someone better will get the work obviously that other shop dont want it
I want to learn the uscope. I wish I could have seen what buttons you were pressing when using the uscope
Lol. Pound sand
Great sence of humor for a mechanic
Hello sir I just got a 2000 Buick lesabre one owner and I have no power to the windows or locks or Morris other than that everything works I changed relays fuses I get some power but not a lot of power to move the windows or Morris what could it be?
Does the radio work while the R.I.M is bad? How about the fuel gauge? And fuel range? I'm experiencing these same symptoms, not sure if I should replace the RIM or body control module
love your channel and learn alot. half the episode must be about teaching how to use certain techniques to troubleshoot with scanners and wire diagrams. if that's the case, thats great, it is very informative. i'm saying that because before you go into all of those steps, isnt it faster just to look under the seat at the harness and if thats not your problem then move on? Love the smell of brake wash or brake cleaner too haha. i used to use carb cleaner, but brake cleaner comes with so much more force. its great when i'm not around my parts washer.
I am an electrical engineer with a Masters from UC Berkeley. This bores the heck out of me. I like working on satellites. I would NEVER do this work on POS autos.
So does the J2534 on the Evolve work as good and the Bosch stand alone one? Will it work with Tech2Win. I am thinking the Evolve might be a good tool if I get a JBox with it. May be worth the money.
I think putting the module that controls all the stuff in the front of your car… In the back of your car is a fantastic idea. And people that say automotive engineers are dummies….
Good job south main auto ๐ โ๐๐๐๐๐
Big 3.8 ????
Like the Missouri license plate on the wall that's where I was born and now I live in Florida hence the tag underneath
Why i have interest in your videos isnt only because your content. Its how you talk and such. I dont like eric the car guy because his voice and how he do stuff. Scannerdanner is good and entertaining aswell he talks good. Gives good advices. Papadakis is great aswell.
Rear integration module
Great find, crazy wiring but typical of Chrysler products, definitely not a sponsor, very impressed of how you tracked this problem down!
A friend of mine had a Mercedes, one of the small ones. The air intake for the hvac pulled air off the top of the battery. I couldn't believe that stupidity.
Do all class 2 data lines go from 0-7 volts? Or does it vary from vehicle to vehicle?
Sugar honey ice tea, no problem
Your hair not grey/gray it's pewter, now doesn't that sound more distinguished.
Finally, after hours of watching these videos and getting frustrated FOR you, I hear the first (and only?) swear word at SMA hahaha.
works as designed, not as desired…….. I have written that on the back of soooooooo many warranty repair orders it is funny……….especiallyย repairs to the fuel tank pressure system on Chrysler rental cars
did you change it? if so did it work
Is it possible for reverse lights to not work but interior lights work but still have a bad RIM? My reverse lights and license plate lights have not worked in a long time. Changed bulbs and checked fuses and both did not fix problem.
I have no identifiable need for that master kit, but I want one for my tool box. I need to let these feelings pass.
Excellent video Buick lesabres and Park Avenue do not have air ride suspension but you know that good call on that module I knew that right away you should do a video with Misses oh and Hannah together doing something that would be awesome
In their defense, Interstate does make an outside vent battery for that car. Costs a little more, I put one in my mother's NEWER car cause it had a non outside vented one in it.
Oh my…
Lots of little modules to go weird in cars now a days.. long past the simple cars of yesteryear.. thank you for the awesome video.. i really loved the part where you bent the needle on your tester in the trunk .. made me laugh..
Oh boy, Schroedinger's Box would disapprove—-you didn't break out the chalkboard and scientific notation calculator. Instead, you used diagnostic methods in the field that actually work. Keep on doing what you're doing—you're a guy that gets things done ๐
I had a muffler shop fry my electric steering never disconnected the battery when welding it. Couldn't turn right, after I left and took it to dealer 900$ later they had to change the whole steering column. The shop gave me every penny back, I still use that shop to this day even though they screwed up they were very professional and didnt try screwing me honesty goes a long way with me.
What type of Winders tablet are you using in this video? BTW, I probably would've fallen asleep in that trunk. Looks kind of comfortable.
"We'll assume this one because its got more wires" XD
If you ever get kidnapped you better wish they're driving a Buick
Great video Eric O
Please do an update if you got the ok to fix it. I'm curious if the module is plug and play or has to be flashed. I have a customer with an 03 Park Ave that has a bad RIM, but I have yet to find 1 used, and GM doesn't make it anymore. THX for all you do!
Like that Florida license plate! My Dad is from that county.
Do you charge for a diagnosis on this problem?
You're a great teacher. You're also a freaking nightmare for a semi-retired hobbyist with an addiction to new tools!
