In this video I bring you through the process I used to swap out some brake on the front of a Cadillac ATS. This car needs some other work along the way so stay tuned!

Must be a lot of wackos in the world calling your shop other than repair.
Can I just replace the pads and call it a day without all this extra greasing and cleaning ?
I subscribed. You scare me man, your just like me. I got the same hat. Talk the same way. I got a Harbor Freight vacuum cleaner. It works real good. I think that little torx bolt on the rotor is an overkill, but I'm not an engineer. I wonder if anybody has ever broke one off removing it?
You made a very good point in this video. Crappy tools can strip heads, and create headaches. I have a great collection of crappy tools. But when I need a new one, I get a dang good new tool.
Thank you so much for making this Video. My son has a 2017 Caddy ATS. Everywhere we'd go, the shop wanted to RAPE us on parts and labor. One place wanted to charge us $125 just to inspect it! I've worked in a body shop for years. I am 67 retired. All I needed to see was your video.
Merry Christmas and God Bless ya South Main guy. AND just by luck I've got a 21MM wrench.
Thank you for this video just picked this one up
Look here mang… I'm a machinist and use a file any which way it needs to be done.. Lol. Been known to sharpen the end like a chisel.. Great work man. You make me laugh and learn every night
A single cut file cuts on the push and a double cut file cuts both directions, contrary to popular belief if you pull back on a single cut file it may dull quicker but you won’t go to hell over it … at least I don’t think you will 🤔
would you say most mechanics would take the time to clean the caliper bracket?
Eric, why not paint the brake pad bracket before installing to cut down on the rust?
"is that you Rona" I'm dead ☠️
Is this an awd ats?
Thx!!!!!! Gonna change my front today
Eric- Did you ever do the Radiator on this GM model? Would you have a video to post? Working on a similar style Chevrolet Cruze, appears the only option is removal of the full front bumper cover and a lot of work. Wondering what you found on a similar body style GM vehicle. Thanks!
If you are romoving rust, aren't you removing material? Just asking for a friend.
Just that easy!
Do I even want to know how much that torque wrench cost?
I really find the videos you put out very helpful. Thank you for the explanations of jobs that you do. I have used a few of you’re techniques it’s always cool to learn a new way to do something
“Is that you, ‘Rona!” 😂 That made Tina laugh out loud!! 😂
I'm always happy for entertainment especially now and you are one of the canals on You Tube I watching, super funny and creative. By the way I'm,70 years young and still working on my project 1977 BMW 630CSI.
Drunk u tuber has a different kind of corona virus 🍺
Is that a plastic end link?
Love your videos, Eric, I love that show that the job can be done with varying tool brands, etc.
It bears repeating: I have watched all your brake videos and I have learned something from every single one. I've also RE-learned plenty. Its all good.
"Push all the junk into the abs system" …. Seriously tho …When's the last time you blew a seal compressing calipers to fast? Insert meme here " I don't do brake jobs often .. But when I do I squeeze my pistons in so fast that I blow my seals. "
Sheep sound is back, Yes
Still waiting on the rest of the videos. Real hands on is the best, I can always watch a Bill Gates video to see how the computer works.
Being from Florida, it’s crazy seeing so much rust in a relatively new car. My 06 infinity is practically rust free. Note to self, stay in the south lol.
I think it should be mandatory for Eric to use Brake Clean in every video. Just sayin"
So nice to watch these videos👍
My front disc brakes on 01 Chrysler Town and Country have pads without the abutment clips. I had to file a bit from the pad ears so they would fit which exposed bare metal. No lube on these ears would end up rusting? How to handle this?
Detroit oughta build Rust Belt models with at least cadmium plated fasteners and some paint on all those bare metal components that find their way out of the factory. Then maybe these cars would have a fighting chance at lasting more than a few years.
Where do you source your gloves sir? 🧤
File is the best I do the same thing cheers man ..I don't have a sandblaster I am the rust blaster 😎😎😎😎
Ah the caddy nice
I stumbled on your videos I don't even remember when, and I have to say I respect the hell out of you for being an honest mechanic. I've watched so many of your videos on vehicles I have never and will never own long before even seeing these videos. I've dealt with my fair share of hacks and scumbag scammers, and you are by far not anywhere near any of them. You deserve a hell of a lot more subs than what you have. Keep up the great work, Sir!
Courious. Why did you replace the Rotor. Instead if turning the old ones. Have you ever done an NDF: NON DIRECTIONAL FINISH.
Dam, that is a way higher torque for that caliper mount than I would have imagined. I think the last one I did was no higher than double digit.
Kermit wants to know when he can have his gloves back!
Didn’t see you clean the slider pins and re-lube them again ?
I suspect you could do this job with your eyes closed.
As always good video Eric.
Should name that vise Roger, from American Dad.
I think wheel is correct. The metal part is a rim, and rubber is of course the tire. Together a wheel.
someone may have asked your gloves where to buy
Good video bud, keep up the good work.👍👍👍👍
is this the 2.5L? With the "steering wheel cover"?
What’s your #
I want on the banned list.
