In a previous video www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl_rKGubDKk&t I left yall hanging after replacing the BCM so now it is time to have a look at the ECM and flush this toilet! -Enjoy!

very interesting didnt follow everything as i am not that advanced but i will not hook up the battery the wrong way or at least i hope not you never know at least i have the 2 main tools to repair it screwdriver and spanner. Plus checking powers and grounds and other bits and bobs. Cheers
If I still had my business I'd make that my mission statment and put it up over the counter. …… "I DIDN'T BUILD IT, I DIDN'T BUY IT, AND I DIDN'T BREAK IT."……. Love it!
I did my first module programming the other day all thanks to watching how you do it. Thanks for the great videos very well done.
Good instruction and humor
Thank you for offering your experience to us. Before you, I was very intimidated with the newer electronic vehicles though I've been working on cars for over 45 years. Your confidence and easy to follow instructions made it possible for me to work on them. Bought my first scanner because of you & Ivan. May God continue to bless your field of influence in order to help us.
With so many Smarts on modern vehicles it beggars belief that manufacturers can't protect against reverse polarity at the battery – designed to fail ??
have a dome light problem. lights overhead do not come on with door opening, but one in back side panel works ok . also lights over head work with switches next to them. are these thru BCM ?
Hey Eric O, My question is just unplugging modules is there some once unplugged or any component`s that have to be reprogrammed once unplugged.
If you can do it, I sure as hell can't do it, this was just over the top, only the different scantools you were using must cost $10k not to mention the expert experience you have.
Great video tho.
🙏😊
My husband and I owned/operated our own garage 25 years ago. We graduated from carburetor engines to central injection to multiport with only the help of motor manuals, tsbs, and friends in other shops. He's long gone and I have fallen way behind on diagnostic technics and procedures. I find your videos very informative and don't mind a goof up occasionally. It's part of the job. We're human. Don't ever quit making the vids.
Hi! I live in Argentina (so… no chance of taking my Captiva to your shop…) but I am experiencing the same problem… and I can not find the new part… If you can tell me where can I order it from, I´d really appreciate it…
Excellent vid, thanks Erik
Someone hooked the battery backwards
Excellent.
good day sir, you really are a true pro. keep up the good work. very good videos. bye now. GERRY G. from canada.
I wish the design engineers had to actually repair their work before signing off.
no brake clean darn
Cool another win scored beating back the crusties
When I was a kid all we needed was a screwdriver a hammer a pair of pliers and a roll of baleing wire and 2 packs of blackjack gum.
Eric O has patience of a saint. He would be my mechanic any day anytime. Hands down!!!
I have a question.. I have the Autel ms919 in what module did you find the bpp calibration
Howdy from Texas!
Free Tip Friday – Windows Key + V will show your clipboard history. Might be handy in the feature!
You may have to enable this feature. It came out October 2018, so if you have not updated windows in a long while, you might not have it.
I tried updating my envoy xuv ecm with the knockoff tech 2 and after pulling fuses it said to pull it kept failing. Once the update fails it wipes out ecm. Thought she was goin to the stealership. Broke out in 😭. I realized after a while that it had aftermarket radio installed. Pulled that fuse and tried again and it actually worked. NO MORE TEARS😊 thank goodness. Just a little knowledge goes a long way. Thank you for the awesome vids and your knowledge. Black and red reversed not good.
These are the best videos.
yo where is the link for the 2.0 test light im needing one but amazon dont got it either i really like to buy one but if not ill have to make my own please send me a link when ur not bizzy witch i shouldnt have type that but please help me out where i can get one budd
Hello again Eric, for a small shop wanting to get started on programming which equipment would you recommend starting with? Thanks
Thanks Eric, I enjoy diag. and module work. C.K.
Can’t help but laugh when I see the “ Chrysler is junk” or “ Chevy is junk”. THEY ALL ARE JUNK!
That's a truck? Ha ha. GM!
I'm a volunteer in a church garage that repairs cars for people with no money for repairs. This is the kind of video that really helps those of us that don't see enough electronics problems to build our skills readily. You give us insight that comes from experience. Great video. Thanks
Did you make that test light you use?
Eric don't listen to those people that are saying this things, all your videos are awesome and informative 👍 keep up the great work!
Hello Eric I have a question I have a 2015 Dodge Ram 5.7 hemi it’s showing I have a burned right break light but it’s not have u come across with that before
On an ironic note. Captiva Island Fl. average home is $8,000,000. Just sayin’
Didn't you have a Launch scantool? Do you still have it? If so, would like to see that in action..
great video, but i notices in the service manual did't mentioned about crankshaft position variation relearn and yet you did it without mentioning it!!!
Great vidjayo as always, nice work! And I envy your patience, that was a stressful and boring job to do. All in all, great content, thank you.
No I'm not a cray cray. But you got great Roots man
Eric is the difference between a real mechanic and a parts changer. Love this channel and I've learned a lot from watching. Unfortunately, much of what he does is way beyond the capabilities of the home mechanic like myself. I fix my own vehicle when I can but sometimes you need the specialty tools and talent of guys like Eric.
hi what scan tool do you like using the most?
BCM likely wasn't bad…if u would have replaced the ECM i bet it would have worked.
ECM and BCM are on the LAN high speed serial bus network. If there's a short in the ECM that shorts the high & low, you will not be able access the BCM or if there's a bad LAN resistor it will throw a code and/or cause issues because the two 120ohm resistors are in the ECM and BCM on this car. Take 1 out and you have system noise.
Is this the "new" location for mounting the battery? I mean, it's where you can actually see and reach it…like they used to be!
Eric 0…da Mansky…!!
Oh Yeah, newer the vehicle, you better have purchased that extended full coverage warranty and/or have a thick wallet! Because they're not getting any less expensive to have fixed! That being said, they're even more expensive to diagnose/fix…it ain't my problem that you have chosen to buy that 2019/2020 full size 3/4T pickup with all the amenities and 35 some modules!
Great video Eric!
I'm blooming sure around the 7 min mark there's something wandering around in your hair!!
That tech 2 saved ur a$$
I like these videos I can change a prom and throw the computer in, I need to learn how to do the programming and the Diagnostics on the current late model stuff.
