I think you did a really great job of tracing down the bad spot in the wiring
Hello can you point me in the direction of the fuel pump module in a 2018 LT 1.5 it's not located in my trunk.
I am impressed with your process to find broken wires and that you don't cheat and just run another wire
Interesting and educational video. We just went through something similar with our 2017. 😕
It's not boring Mr o it's great and very informative buddy keep it up even if you don't think is good cause some of us do !!!!!!
Where is that seam ripper and telephone company wire tracer. Ya'll just have to put it at the frequency that is not the tuned length that will radiate. Just because each wire is a different length tsk tsk
Hey I have a 2014 chevy silverado lt crew cab 4wd has a code for p2635 code is it the back fuel pump or high pressure pump
Great video…..i love your patience
Very good job
GM was stupid with these trucks, why put that right above the spare tire, I replaced 2 of them in my uncles 2009 GMC Sierra, the secound one was warrantied out and the replacement I silicone the hell out of it.
Eric, you have the patience of Job. May God continue to bless you and your family. Excellent work, job well done. KB
Late comment from post date but please know, NO it was NOT a "Boring Video" … it shows just how hard "Diagnostics" can be and a tribute to your tenacity and work ethic … I salute you. "Perfection is unattainable … but the pursuit is not" !!! Bravo my Man !!!
Does anyone know why electrical tape… even scotch 33, turns into gooey much on a boat? I does not seem to under these trucks and cars. On boats I never use tape and simply have to use only wire loom and tie straps. There is something about a boat that melts electrical tape. We also use heat shrink electrical connectors.
Hey, are you using a sewing seam ripper or telephone tracer???? LOL… Great video – pure perseverance…
Great Job
I am going to drive my Lambo to Eric. I mean my Pinto.
Wire tracing, tone generator, brings back memories when I serviced phone/dictation/transcription systems.
Just want to say I don't think any of your videos are boring, always informative and the process leads were the process leads still a good fix and how to find it. Thanks again for doing these videos
Hunting down shorts is always a cool adventure Erik and theres no whineing here bud
There are two kinds of mechanics. Mechanics and mechanics that understand wiring problems.
Am I the only one that notices that horrid dual exhaust hanger mess 😬🤯😳
i fixed a trailer brake code because of broken wire in harness at cab corner rub through
NICE TO SEE SOMEONE CHASE THE SAME TROUBLES ass me gm has harness issues on these trucks
Love your videos and I have a quick question I was just given a 1995 Ford F150 has been sitting for about a year and a half I have not picked it up yet and I was just wondering what you recommend me doing before starting it it has about a half a tank of fuel it has a V8 5.0
I ran service on commercial burglar alarms, often tracking down a short or open on a 1000' wire run. When you said "This sucks," I know that feeling well.
Eric you are the man I really like your shows watched many of them straightforward no nonsense you make people like me look good there's just so much more to these cars nowadays I can't keep up with all of it so you're the s***keep up the good work
Same issue with my 2012 sierra. I will check at the plug before buying a driver thanks to your video.. I've learned a lot from your videos. Pretty tough to find a mechanic that doesn't just throw parts at it. Keep up the fantastic work.
are the probes from aes wave or someone else?
hey buddy, i have a 18 seirra 5.3 crew 4×4, thing stalled after sputtering while driving , p129d p12a6, checked wiring, im a licensed mechanic, cleared drives fine, but dont trust the truck now, no warranty on fuel components either dont want gm to run a big bill on me any ideas?
Eric, this video was always good bud. Electrical issues, are the most difficult. To diagnose correctly. You know how to trace wires very well.
why were the wires… where the break was ….. not in a plastic tube … like HELLO !
I'm sure your beautiful wife has one you could borrow.
Hey Mr O you should be using a sewing seam ripper. Lol
Why don’t you use a sowing seam ripper!! Haha jk think we got the point.
very good way to explain cable failure
When doing electrical checks like your performing on this vehicle the first step that i take is hooking up two high quality jumper wires directly from the battery to the area of the work. That way i'm not looking for good grounds everywhere and I can check my test light each time. It ends up saving me time and frustration. Great video!
Nice Mr 713
Fair play Eric, great video, excellent work. I really enjoyed watching it.
It's a refreshing change to see someone admit they've made a mistake. Usually mechanics, including some that you've ended up fixing their botch jobs for, just stand there and lie to your face, "sure we replaced the part", when they plainly haven't, or "it was like that when it came in here", even though you know it wasn't.
It sure was interesting to see where the broken wire needed to be repaired.
Remind them Rome wasnt built in a day why would a search for wire breaks take less time.
GOOD WORK SIR
Look at that rust for being 3 years old
I've had the same problem with the ect 2000
Eric, don’t worry about the haters that want to just see the highlights, keep doing as you are doing. Show it all, you help the rest of us when you show it all, not everybody is comfortable tearing into wiring harnesses. You give us the confidence to do so with minimal tools!
good job dude
usually above spare tire jack area
gm vehicle are bad for the harness replace many harness
The sealer that you apply on tire patch works just aswell as liquid electrical tape try it….
