Come along with Eric O. at the SMA shop as we have a look at this 2001 Chevrolet 1500 5.3 that came in with a lean misfire. The engine light is on with codes P0300, P0174 and P0171. Ends up not being your average intake manifold gasket leak.

Great video. I have the desire to rent a smoke tester for my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 now after this video. Trying to fix everything lacking on my truck since gas is 5 bucks a gallon. (Our politicians all need to be offered a blindfold and a cigarette….)
I have that same light its awesome
Will my brake booster being bad on my truck cause it two have a p0300 code random misfire
Another excellent explanation. Not to mention detective work. Thanks.
Were do you get the smoker
Would be great if mine had an egr valve to blame
Thanks needed this one! Now to find the EGR Valve!
Nice vid, I'm working on my 5.3 and it does that rough idle shit in the morning but only on cold days. Changing the intake gaskets this weekend.
Drive the kid to my parents doing 70, got back on highway to go to work, sounded rough with slight loss of power, rough at 60, then 50, then 40, then 15.
Limped to work, truck starts, barely stays alive, put it in drive and lurched forward 15 feet and it could barely do that
All of this happened in a matter of 7 miles of driving
What kind of fog machine do you use?
Trick my grandmother showed me! 🤣🤣🤣 great video. Incredible the amount of knowle needed to work on modern vehicles!
I can't get my truck to start. I was driving it and it just lost power and shut off, and then since then it will crank but won't fire up. I've changed the fuel filter and pump. And today the spark plugs cuz they were bad. but also the spark plugs were like covered in gas and then when I put the new ones it fired up once and now won't again. Any thoughts on what might be wrong? I've been trying to get it running since Dec 23rd because it's my daily driver, and just have been having no luck
Awesome videos friend, thanks for doing these . It really helps a poor fella save ..

If you can do it, I can do it!
Great diagnostic skills. Good catch on the EGR pipe!

Hello Eric ! I have a 94 gmc 5.7 . I have a bucking problem at a light throttle , certain position the engine wants to start bucking . It is a 5 speed manual trans . Ive changed the tps ,map ignition like dist , pickup coil , module , and the main coil . But still has this certain throttle position at light throttle it wants to buck . Im at a loss . Did the head gaskets , valve seals , and intake of course . But thats not why i did the top end . I had a little white smoke situation . The bucking prob was there before I did the top end . Any suggestions would be GREAT !!!!!
where do I find a mechanic like you ? someone that actually knows how to work on a GMC engine
Blah blah blah. Get to it already!!!
Damn…113000 miles and already rusted out and having driveability problems. I've had plenty of Chevys…two right now and never had one that bad
Thanks for posting all theses videos.
Neither one of my 2002 silverado's have an EGR tube. They never came with it

This man is ingenious
you wont happen to remember what bolts you need for the EGR hose or have a part number?
Why do you talk like a litle bitch?
Awesome! Been having the same troubling with my 2009 Avalanche. Think problem is solved 🙂
I would have liked to see you get that part off the exhaust manifold.
1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is LORD," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10
We're living in the end times. Jesus will be rapturing his church before the 7 years of Tribulation begins. He will come back after the 7 years. If you miss the rapture don't take the mark of the beast, you can't go to heaven if you do. It will be on your right hand or your head. God bless you.
Just replaced my EGR valve and tube assembly this morning and resolved my issues. Funny thing is is that your video popped up in my video feed after i did the repair haha.
Man I want this dude working on my chevy
As I watch your videos, I like to try and guess what the problem is before you figure it out. My batting average is not too good. I've been keeping my own cars running since I got my driver's license in 1969. I currently have four GM cars ('96 Impala SS, '03 Corvette, '88 Corvette, '88 Trans AM). As you can guess, they keep me busy!
