So I know this is years ago you made this but I am just now dealing with this code on my 2014 Chevy Malibu LTZ. It says that bank1 is open the code p2645. I watched your entire video and then read a bunch online and got stuck down a rabbit hole. You did not change the part you said was bad on the video. Did that fix it? I really need help.
Is bank 1 the same as valve 1?
I am so happy you posted this because I just got this code today and I don’t have nails on and I am going to do this myself
Good video, but negative predictive failure for next day's events not good practice for a well qualified technician from what I've seen from your vids.🙂
Just a question. Did you just reconnect the broken wire or replace the cable?
That engine sounds like shaking an aluminum soft drink can with a bunch of pennies inside.
I like how you do your job very good.
Whew!
Secret Code to throw the car away!!! LOL!!!
Just watched this video and compared it to some of your more recent stuff. As suspected you are a fast learner, I can see a big difference in then and now!! Keep up the good work, we appreciate coming along for the ride and seeing how other guys get er done.
wow the snap-on brick scanner..there's a blast from the past
Man Brother Im A Mecanic too or car doctor love your wisdom
I love your attention to detail in thorough diagnostics and I've recommended your videos to my nephew who is a 24 Year old mechanic starting out
Thank you for taking the time to do these videos… time is money but you still take the time to help out!
So where was the repair video
Thank you Eric! I know this was a challenging one. God loves you and Sent Jesus to die for your sins on the Cross. He wants to forgive you of all of your sins and will if you will come to Jesus.
take a look at the manifold bolts??????
2015 Malibu..knocking sound on right wheel took to shop and they replaced front struts and arm. Drove it for a week, now left side now thumping. Took back had trouble finding out what issue came back told me it's stability Track module. That was replaced..then less than a day later now car is acting like it wants to stall when we come to a stop and start. Took it back and they did a flush. Got car back very next day while driving on freeway it looses power pull to side of freeway and have it towed back to shop. Now he saying it's transmission..is this right? Saying they getting a code 0700..how ? We go from struts to now him pushing a rebuilt transmission for $4,900. Had transmission service at dealership less than a year ago. Never had any signs of a transmission issue. Am I being played?
Thank you for this extremely detailed video on diagnosing the P2645 code. This helped me alot & saved me from just throwing parts at my wife's car.
Would just replacing the solenoid valve fix a p2645 code?
Two trip code is a type “B” requiring air & coolant within 10 degrees of each other, start, run to min of 174 degrees F, then if fails a second time, CEL. Your tablet must be wireless as many things are, but is a modular plugged in the DLC then Bluetooth or WiFi? I think the TECH2 under special functions allow the intakes solenoids to be turned on & off. That would be quicker. Plus the EVAP small leak, normally it’s the tank vent solenoid full of 8 pounds of dust, like you pulled off bottom cover. Wow, a lot of gravel road time on that car.
a 2 yr old car looking like that, the guys must have used it in a baja race.
What did you do to the back of your left arm? It looks really torn up
Hi u
Hi
Malibu madness. What were they thinking?!
Good job!👍
Who is this lil’ fellah you keep referring to ?
I have some Bourbon for your efforts
Nope – can't do dat :{ ) Like Floyd said Wish You Were Near. 1999/2000 5.7 Yukon Denali – Send help lol
Still do not understand the benefit of reinventing the wheel (cam and rockers). Ford has or had those goofy cam phasers and none of this crap ever works for very long. Other than planned obsolescense these would be much better left alone. A good old GM small block with regular heads or a good old ford 5.0 outlasts these contraption motors by hundreds of thousands of miles. Internal combustion engine only has so much room for improvement before you're chasing your tail lol
Good day sir pls can I get your email…very urgent concerning my chev.Malibu 2015Thanks
I stuck in and watched pt 1 and pt 2, although my eyes were itching and my nose felt moble video psychological sneezes LOL. Enjoyed nonetheless thank you!
Eric… Would it make sense to spend a few minutes power washing the engine bay? I'm thinking the customer will be impressed by it and it would translate into a heightened image of quality and good marketing for your shop.
I have this car and I have the code P2646 and an engine misfire code P0300 are they related in any way?
I noticed you didn't say "don't forget if I can do it you can do it" lol. I don't think a lot of people could have fixed that car
Seen a few of these that low oil caused that code first thing I check
I own a 2014 Malibu. Just had the light come on and it said replace rocker arm control valve. I got it done for free because apparently this is a common issue with Malibu’s of this generation. You would think these auto makers would realize they lose money when they make shit cars and then have to fix them free and settle lawsuits
What's the ohm resistance suppose to be though
Always remember to reset the codes after you have changed the rocker arm solenoid! It will not reset itself after changing the solenoid or removing the battery cables.
Being able to adapt and learn the basics of any system on the fly is what makes a good drivability guy. If you understand how an item works you can easily decide yes the part is good or bad.
NOTHING WRONG WITH A GM TRUCK. I HAVE A 1 TON GAS BURNER AND NO TROUBLE WITH IT.
Hi Eric … I've worked on cars since I was a teen, It's always a pleasure to watch you work & explain things, Your a very gifted Auto Technician …. Keep up the great content … You have a lovely family … Best wishes from the UK … !
I would hate to see the air filter on that PIG
Watched the whole thing even got excited when the light lit love your videos keep it up
I love electrical problems
these hi-tec cars are bs, they have more electronic crap than a B52 and it does not matter who or what country makes them . each one is as good as the other and better. my good lord Eric how do you deal with it all. thank you for the lesson and the entertainment Dennis in Vancouver Washington
I would not want to touch a car that belonged to someone like the owner you described. That's the kind of person who would blame you if something totally unrelated failed a month later.
hello my car is captiva 2007 and it gives p0190 error my pump pressure changed 283 rail pressure sensor but the problem is going on, the vehicle stops while driving please help me
I was successful in troubleshooting a faulty ignition switch in my 05 Colorado using a pair of wiretaps, a test light and a ProDemand wiring diagram thanks to you. I appreciate the detailed layman’s approach to diagnostics. Thank you sir..
