I've been underneath enough vehicles to imagine what is happening. Thank God for opposable thumbs!
Great job I wish I could have an assistant like you. I watched all the videos to the end. I have a 2004 avalanche with 320,000 miles on with just a small oil leak. I'm waiting for it to clunk on me one day. So I wanted to see what job lies ahead for me. Thank you so muck..
Still watching
I hope I don't find charcoal in that line because then I'll have to drop the tank down man what luck I have these days man shoot me lol ๐
Yeah I just bought this caddilac escalade it's been nothing but headache so far I put new shocks front and back new rotors front and back new coil packs new spark plug new wires and the list keeps climbing I really like the truck trying to keep it in good shape and also replaced the air shocks motor air pump so now I got this gas smell man it don't stop but thank you and keep up the good work
I like your work honest and real
Man I wish you lived in south jersey I would of been at your shop
What's up buddy quick question I got a 2007 caddilac escalade been smelling gas in the back alot I went under the truck but I did not see any leaks or nothing truck starts right up but I checked all connection everything seems fine but I am getting a really bad smell my check engine light just led up now so I have to scan it tomorrow but yeah that smell almost feel like if something was leaking gas somewhere but I don't see any leaks and I adding gas today but adding gas it takes all the gas without stopping so just trying to figure it out I mean it looks a bit rusty down there I might just go ahead and change that canister and purge but just kind of busting my head here but I think if the canister clogged up would it cause the gas smell
what year as my 08 looks nothing like that ?
Anyone know what bolts I need to ground the wires to the rear of the engine?
I know itโs years later Eric, that critter nest is a mud dauber nest.
He had the engin out wat abortus the chassis coud spraipaint a little
I don't know what they paid you forr this job, but it wasn't enough.
What a patient pleasant daughter you have there. I'm very impressed.
Excellent job and really interesting.
Good engine /included parts ++ job too ! Eric you are really good……….
The bug nest is a โmud dauberโ nest โฆ
Not a bad junkyard motor.
Brake clean eats rubber. Use carb choke clean.
Really got caught up in this 4 part video. Reminds of the days when I did an engine removal and install a few times. Thanks for sharing!
General Motors is still using spark plug wires!?!? How barbaric!
I'm glad you cleaned off the oil filter. It was bothering me all through part III for some reason.
Excellent series…thank you!
I envy this guy. I owned two companies and worked 24/7, but I was a technician, not a businessman. He appears to have filled that businessperson gap with his choice of life partner.
I had that for four years when I bought my second business, Then my wife of forty years died of cancer. Hitting the bullseye on the first shot seems unfair.
But I still wish him and his the best,
Like the channel, fun to watch and remember. Last engine swap I did was for my old boss. A 4.6 Lincoln town car, his daughter drove here from Texas without oil, and made it to just south of Nashville. He went after her and had the car towed to the shop for me to start on first thing. His friend was bringing a junkyard engine to swap. So I pulled the trashed engine alone, transferred top end parts and installed, got to putting flywheel bolts in and find out the engine would not even turn! It was as locked up as the original, lol!
So he called for another engine while I started pulling that one out and tried not to lose my mind. The engine arrived quickly and the first thing I do was make sure it turned. Worst day I had in years. Did get put back in and running, worked over 18 hrs that day.
Nice swap! Just don't understand why the shop doesn't clean all that plastic and engine bay. It is a puzzlement.
The southern bug is called a dirt dobber ๐คฃ
On the eighth day God created brake spray cleaner.
You da man Eric..
๐ awesome content.
As a general habit that makes me feel good, when dealing with engines that haven't been started in a while I always pull the fuel injection relay and an ignition fuse or relay and spin it over to let it build oil pressure without the connecting rods slapping the top of the crank bearings on the cold start to prevent a possible bearing spin on a dry main or connecting rod bearings. I started doing that after I pulled and replaced all bearings on my car at 100k miles when I noticed a slight dip in oil pressure, and after pulling the old bearings found more wear at that particular spot in the rod bearings and light scoring on the mains.
There's your problem lady. You've got dust in it. Nice Eric nice. 3 1/2hr video and you had to bring it. But then it's wouldn't be right with out it.
Only 170k miles on a ls truck engine? Sounds like minimal oil changes.
headlight…that was probably a diode so both bright and dims would be on at the same time…but this would overload the headlight switch or relay and probably burn it out…..story;;some vernicle headlights just suck,, especially on the dark of the moon you cant see a damn thing..i had a Chevy Venture…put on new reflector assemblies. .the Sylvania bulbs….and added halogen lights below the grill…it was still hard to see when it was overcast or the dark of the moon…
The headlight thing was Jerry's… get back
Love this channel and your name.
Is it just f trough the phone or does it sound like there vaccum leak
It's simple and easy but I change air filter, clean MAP sensor and clean intake valve while it's open. That pipe was dirty you said should have braklean it lol
Outstanding job. 5 Thumbs up.
Is called mud dauber they down in Texas and soured areas
that thing you chucked for the headlight was a resistor for an LED bulb. power draw is so low with LEDS that you need to add a resistor
Kind of neat how Hannah acts like an OR nurse . .."I need a 10mm deep well on the small impact"
just a suggestion..how about building an engine stand and things around it to test run a used engine before you invest in all the labor to install it in the vehicle ?
That little headlight part is a Hi-4…..it allows high and low beam to burn at the same time. It works good when wired right.
I wish you were close to where i live. Im getting my butt kicked on an intermittent low oil pressure deal. No doubt you could figure it out.
Job went pretty smooth.
Those light wires were for after market HID lights
Iโm happy
Bro you and your helper got me through swapping my 2000 Silverado 4×4 for my first ever engine swap appreciate you guys
