In this video you get to come along as I attempt to repair many electrical problem plaguing this Chrysler Pacifica. It included but is not limited to, no radio, no HVAC, no power windows, no shift interlock, ABS, MIL, and Trac Lights on, no wipers and the list goes on. Lets see if we can't figure this one out.

I had the same thing happen with an 06 pacifica lost the ground on lh high beam it was the ground on the studs. The wire was rotted off to. Thanks for the video its nice to see someone take the extra time to do it right. Great job!
you just save me $700 thanks a lot
Love you man you did great job
Thx a lot Eric. Can u pls do series on a journey from 2012 onwards if u get one. U r the online defacto teacher n so detailed.
Hey are Pacifica worth it. I want to buy a 2007 with less than 150,000 miles. For 2k. What are the most common problems with this car. Never own a Chrysler. Always had Tacoma. Just need a family car for 2 upcoming babies.
Having the exact same issue but it's only when I try to turn on the wipers, everything shuts off (except the car) and the wiper relays buzz. I bypassed the 3 ground wires directly to the negative on the battery with no luck before watching this video.
Gonna take a second look now!
Thanks a bunch for the great info!
Same thing happened to my 2016 Jeep Patriot latitude 2.0 replaced the Tipm TWICE with in 2 years! I will never buy another Jeep Chrysler or Dodge again! Lesson learned because before this pos I had a 2006 Chrysler 300 and it was another POS with multiple electrical problems
I learn something from almost every video of yours. Wiring issues are a complicated problem, but your videos r very helpful to me in learning how modern cars elec. systems work & the logic behind them.
Thanks for what you do Eric.
WELL DONE SIR.
All those birds tweeting thinking the rodents were in for a wire chew…battery acid
area bottom spot maybe.
Hey need help. I have 2005 chrysler pacifica. My ac compressor 20a fuse keep blowing when i power the ac on.
Just all of sudden started.
First class diagnosis keep up the good
Thank you for being able to look over your shoulder & follow along with your thinking. Wiring Diag / Test Light / Jump Lead & 30yrs of experience with "if I can do it, You can do it". Treating black boxes as "it needs to get a ground from somewhere" turned on a light for me!
Thanks it was a good video
Typical Chrysler. This is why I got rid of a chrysler. No one could find the problem even after changing the tipm. The ignition module failed late one night, got it replaced under a recall. Was ok for a few months and that one failed while driving, the steering wheel locked while the vehicle was still moving. Chrysler says it will do that because it thinks it has no key. I traded the heap in, the guy who bought it got killed since a third module failed. The sliding door behind the driver would open on it's own even while driving, Chrysler's fix was to disconnect the door motor.
CRAP…had a 05 Ford Freestar from Florida that did the exact same thing. Shop said it was kaput, so i left the car with the title. Turns out it was the GROUND wire…oh well, thats a $2000 error. But hey, thanks for the input to show me where I screwed up.
Dude thanks man ut was extremely help full that you went through all the steps
Great job. From Texas
Great bit of trouble shooting!
Really like that video thanks
TIPMical of Chrysler.๐
You either have birds or a very squeaky bearing.
Job well done Eric !!! I will always check the easiest fix first !!! Excellent trouble shooting !!!!!!! ๐
Great troubleshooting process. Always go with the easiest circuit first. ๐
Didnโt go through all the comments but I had great success by taking out the battery and battery tray and doing it that way. Much easier to see and get to the wires
Great video. The birds are happy
Just put a new starter motor on and a brand new battery still nothing turn the key all the lights come on just nothing not even a click.
was very interesting, a bit boring at times but loved the tad of humor when you found C4 burrrr lol. thanks for the information and a good morning chuckle.
Learning so much by looking over the shoulder of this master tech
Someone needs to get the Bird out of the shop.
My car is the same make and model as the one in this video and I have already bought another BCM and changed it out and needless to say that wasn't the problem
And then I come across this video and done just as you did and I couldn't believe thats what was wrong with my car it was a bad ground issue
Thank you so much for making these videos you save me from spending more unnecessary money than was needed
Where do you get the tipm wiring and power/ground location diagrams? Trying to find for 2011 town and country
Sensible approach, if everything breaks at once it's something common to all the faults. ๐
Your electrical repair would more easily sluff off the effects of battery acid spill if you smear some grease on the electrical connection. I like to get rid of the battery post corrosion by irrigating the area with water thoroughly and wetting it down with something like motor oil. That fix to the corrosion lasts a very long time. Aqueous acid does not mix with the added oil. (Water and oil don't mix.) The added oil on the battery post prevents acid seepage.
Wow what a mechanic I wished you lived in the pittsburgh area.
Awesome diagnosis. I learned alot watching this video. I watched the complete video and understood everything you were talking about.
Electrical: Battery and terminals first.
Good job.
yes… that is very valid troubleshooting set of steps. It took you no time to identify the issue.
I am at the point that I go straight to the grounds… and make sure they are good before I go
break my head in geek logic. …but diagrams are needed.
If boring people showing them how to peruse thru diagrams, they can switch to a porno video!
THUMBS UP
Another approach, and you used part of it, is to find the commonality for all the failing devices. You checked the positive to the fuses was that part that you did. The commonality was the ground to all those relays supporting the failing devices which turned out to be the problem. The fact that those power modules are notorious failures was a detractor and understandable.
My friend had a sea breeze the same damn car I don't know. She said it would not start it blew the pcm fuse because it didn't have oil.i thought that was cool.
Nice find you are a great mechanic. God bless you and your family.
Outstanding diagnostics! Thank you. Great video!
I am very surprised that you didn't clean the battery terminals as part of troubleshooting an electrical problem to ensure clean power from the battery. That positive terminal was really nasty looking.
Youโre the best and most honest mechanic Iโve seen.
A wee little poot there..
You are a brilliant teacher.
Additionally,I always find it fascinating that something that took so long to grow (green Crusties) can cause an instant issue, as opposed to an initially- intermittent problem.
Hope you get some much needed rest/sleep so you feel better
I really enjoy your videos and most certainly your knowledge. Obviously you care about what you do… don't ever change, the public needs more mechanics like you. They may not be happy about the cost of diagnosis but a quality repair from a quality shop is getting hard to find
