The plot must thicken at some point. Even with worn inner tie rods, the shaking shouldn't be as consistent across the range, as it seemed in this video.
Granted, video isn't always the best way to illustrate the full picture.
But I suspect warped rotors. Those went unrepaired for too long, and ended up wearing out the tie rods. So it's probably best that he declined your service. Customers like that, they are the curse who keeps on cursing you.
I am not a mechanic, and I enjoy your videos very much. However, I am truly blown away with how many customers get in a hissy fit when you tell them what actually is wrong with their vehicle. Diagnosis is the heart of the mechanic profession, and I don’t see why people bring vehicles to technicians not wanting a diagnosis. You were trying to save them money and times. Good luck with that wheel alignment to this owner.
I bought a truck that was doing that. Went right to rockauto for the replacement parts and installed then with in the week. You don't put off fixing with anything related to steering your death box.
Ray, you should have told him about a great place that fixes this kind of problem and they are really cheap. Then give the address of the nearest wreckers. I have dealt with many customers like that over the years. Thanks for your great video. Cheers from Australia, Robert.
Numbskull owners ought to be forced to watch real-time videos of diagnostics of their vehicles. Every mechanic should film their work like Rainman’s excellent series,
i have a dodge journey/2012.. the wheel random shake and rattles then other time it's calm.. lol this video is concerning.. i figured it was just the routers messed up or something..
Jackass customer. Too bad Florida does not provide you the ability to issue a dangerous condition do not drive rejection like they at least used to do in Pennsylvania.
Some people know just enough to be dangerous but not enough to make actual decisions. Any person who can afford that truck should have the common sense to know you don't waste money on an alignment unless you've replaced your steering components. Duh. Some people's life is just too easy for their own good
Did you reply (to the customer), "Good luck – and I hope the place you're taking it is pretty close by," lol?

You can't fix stupid Ray, some people just won't accept the truth.
HE'S GOT A FRIEND
Problem is, its a GM. New truck should not have bad tie rods.
Part of the problem is whomever is in the office, Ray doesn't even talk to them. If dude saw the video he may get it fixed.
Chevrolet and their steering wheel issues, man. Reminds me of my Opel Corsa 1.3cdti…
"Stupid is as stupid does." – Forrest Gump
Wheel alignment or warped rotor? Doesn't seem like a wheel alignment issue.
Should have just quoted for wheel alignment and other associated repairs
Can't FIX Stupid!!!
38k miles and front end wore slap out how…
Findings the problem is as much fun as fixing it except you don't get dirty. Enjoy the freebees while you can.

Just know that there are still people who didn't drop out of school in second grade and are able to comprehend words.

I hope this guy made it to the next shop before he hit a bump and it fell apart.
Scary that this guy is out on the road driving a truck in that condition. Oh Boy.

Soooo "Big green weenie".. Is that the truck or the "Customer"? 🙂 🙂 🙂
Cousin Vinny will do an alignment and that'll fix everything. Yeah okay. See yah later.
Adjust the toe with the inner tie rods fully extended or retracted? Your choice Mr costumer! LoL 🤣😆
remember you can't argue with stupid
I love it when people want to tell the professionals what to do !!
If you so smart do it yourself do not waste my time !!@
Those inner tie rods are not a big deal he should let you change them out. What a fool.
When he crashes then perhaps he will have a second opinion (about himself).
This customer not the sharpest tool I the shed.
People always shoot the messenger.

Sounds like his bank account made the decision for him.
The "customer" wanted a free diagnosis.
you can't fix stupid

You didn’t state what problems you found on video
What amazes me is these people aren't even concerned for their safety. I mean issues like that only get worse, they don't get better.
Zen and the art of vehicle maintenance: "they're just gonna do what they're gonna do."
SO frustrating, if that is what owner does. Maybe they just couldn't afford it and said that to cover embarrassment. Stay safe.
I thought it was only on the Ford with the Ford death wobble
This just proves that you can not teach stupidity!!
Where are you located? I oftentimes fund myself in central Florida and in need of maintenance.
You can't fix stupid
Probably just headlight fluid…
Of course the shaking is caused by an improper alignment. Insert sarcasm face here.
I'm curious what was the problem was it the rack
Wow
its unfortunate, the owner rather drive with all those worn parts, smh…
