Bad/Stuck engine thermostat cam cause
A/C issues. Overcooling and undercooling ..HVAC control modules don't like that.

Have you considered merch? I’d buy a t shirt with Nice N Shiny on it!
As annoying as it is for Spanish speaking consumers to constantly see ads in a language they do not understand, it is equally annoying the other way around. YouTube, FIX IT.
so… replacing the tstat does nothing for the AC though, n'est-ce pas?
When you opened the hood and saw the tray of sockets does that mean nobody opened the hood in 4000 mi.?
I ALWAYS replace those 'pinch' clamps with real clamps..the ones that screw adjust..I loath the pinch clamps
Another great video ray always enjoy them
I had a trailblazer that would continuously blow thermostats. They’d always get stuck shut so I removed the internals to the thermostat and drive it like that haha
👍👍👍

Is there a reason why thermostats and goosenecks are a single unit now?
I'm just wondering if you take the radiator cap of .to help it drain better.i use a black tub to put under the radiator when I drain it .good job.
Hi Ray, i love watching your videos and being an auto electrician in the 90s in Australia i really enjoy watching you work on modern cars. I do have a question though after hearing a few comments you made in the past. Do actually work for the company or do you only contract to them? Or is it common to only get paid for the car's that you work on. I understand that Australian and USA working conditions are very different. Keep up the great content, Paul 👍
I swear it looks like you're pissing over into the engine bay… Hahaha…
Y'all sound like old bitties talking
Who cares,, this is entertainment,, maybe you're offended because the conditions of your vehicles are shown.
Isn't this the Denali that has a tranny problem?
Ya doin’ real good there . . . Rayray! 😃
A 3/8 drive 10mm gray snapon socket costs $27.
I've lost 2 that's how I know.
one in a frame somewhere the other in the intake valley of a vehicle not in an interference area. external.
I looked for about 30 mins after that it's cheaper to buy.
I've found tools in cars too.
I found a brass hammer in the wiper transmission area..lol
You repair by assumption?
Distractions: you would be surprised, watching the aviation channels, how many times simple distractions caused airplane crashes/emergencies! So, you are indeed correct!
I love your videos, but you whip out the third hand on cam and I will unsub and go bleach my eyes. J/K love the videos as always, thanks for taking us along with you.
I like to periodically scan my vehicles as not all codes will trigger the Check Engine light. Sometimes things hide that the modules or computer feels, meh, it's not super important or causing any issues….yet. lol.
My AC works fine while driving, but losses cold when sitting at a light. What is that, likely?
what about the ac .. does it run cold now….🤣🤣🤣
Love your videos!
I'm assuming those people in the comments are bitching that you didn't use a regular screwdriver or something?
But… then I saw you use one later on… what kind of sorcery is this?
Also, ya'll got some killer tunes goin on in there.
I have a 2014 Colorado that had a stuck open thermostat, it would set a code for (unable to achieve operating temperature) and read 120f on the dash and shut the ac off lol. Same shit
You sure take what people say to the heart. To hell with them if they don’t understand what a certified mechanic goes through. And all the regulations and responsibilities we have to follow. Great job on the videos very entertaining
What a Pig Pen!
Spill the antifreeze from the side🥶🐲
So, the a/c was not working due to the low engine temp?
I thought spraying an engine with water was no bueno, especially a hot one.
How much does it cost for a used part thermostat? 1/2 price I think.
I would think anything with a clamp on it needs to be totally replaced.
Can't help it if I have to adjust myself and get comfortable.
I literally have two boxes full of 10s and 8s haha
Once again Ray is mop up man. Job should pay (@ least .5 diag and .6 tstat. One hr should be normal diag anytime that $10K scanner is plugged in- they only have 2-3 yrs before they're obsolete) wonder what tech turnover's@ this shop. Ray could be easy knocking over 6 figure$ @ a more progressive shop
dont wash does hot engines please
No wonder domestic cars can't hold their value.
Be careful with the music in the background!
Gotta love GMC
I chased a "slightly hot" engine temp on my truck this past summer, replaced thermostat, hoses, flushed system, nothing worked.
Found out my E fan was "working" but not spinning fast enough to cool the engine, and after a while would stop (which is how i eventually found the problem). So all the times i checked the fan and circuits, it appeared to pass inspection, it was just doing it's job very poorly.
Replaced E fan, problem solved.
I might be able to handle this repair
The Subaru joke was funny! 😂
Watching you struggle with those hose clamps damages my soul. There's a guy on YT who does car repairs, and he has a link to some AWESOME hose clamp pliers. You should check him out. 😅 Stay safe.
Hey Ray! That's some kind of wonderful soundtrack you got in the shop there! Suck Grand Funky ambiance! Stay safe.
First off: this is NOT a “customer states” video! 2nd: Im like 75% sure this vehicle belongs to this guy! He starts the video off at what appears to be his driveway. Also says, “…got MY new one” when showing thermostat housing!
