Come along with Eric O. at the SMA repair shop as he swaps out the 3.8 liter engine in this high mileage 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan that has a P0303 Misfire and has started to burn coolant. I am going to break this up in a multi part series to help keep the videos shorter.

My 2001 T&C wiper cowl is removable. That's how you get to the plugs and Ox sensor.
Just watched and your at 682k lol still a good video 5yrs later.
I really enjoy your comments and your work. You are a very good family man to boot. I have worked on cars for over 40 years. Through the years vehicles have changed considerably and I have adapted as well. I know the difficulty you go through each and every day and I commend you for your thoughtfulness in addressing the viewers and giving some of them great tips to follow. You could certainly move to Texas and you won’t have the rust issues you do in New York State. We would be happy to accept you here. God bless you and your wonderful family for making this a truly family adventure.
them dogs are runners
My 06 with 200650K just let go yesterday got a used one with 115K coming I will reseal everything on the used one coming in a few days. Love it
2000 Dodge Grand Caravan! That’s the van you can take the wiper motor housing, some other vans also up to 2006 I think.
"Fresh kill." lol
The town and country it comes off
Hey Eric, I have a Dodge Caliber and I was wanting to go with a OEM water pump to replace the factory pump with my local stealership had a replacement pump on the shelf. It was just over $200.00 for it and it has that stupid plastic impeller on it I decided to go with a gates water pump and it has steel impeller on it with a new mounting block for the low, low price of $50.00 all the gaskets were in the box with it. I've never had a problem with the Gates parts.
we have not seen any. PT cruiser in the shop
Ford's
I worked on a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country, and it's cowel came out with 8 or 10 screws.
My wife loves her robot vacuum!!
She was a fresh kill, we didn't give the buzzards enough time to circle. LOL, luv u guys and keep up the great work and video's(we call it pinning, keeping panels located)
Ford Windstar van
Sheba new Friend is just to adorable Eric O how could you say no to that face @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Rather take chance on subframe bolts!
i don't watch the videos for the commentary….the only reason i watch all your videos is because i hope to see a puppy
It's the 05 the whole cowl comes out I've had to pull mine
My 07 caravan the entire cowl comes off with a few bolts its real easy. Not sure why they changed it on this.
11.19 maybe a chevrolet trans sport?
The Dew Drop that from the bottom you done had it out
Wow, don't see to many 3.3 or 3.8 going bad.
I remember back in MMMMMMYYYY days, we has fastners for everything, less plastic too.
I'm pretty sure that breeds specific job is to shed all over the furniture 🤔 nice puppy dog though it will be worth it
I never pull the motors out the bottom unless im going to scrap the body
Karenvan
If you bleed on the bolts they come off easier !
Caddie Northstar engines come out the top also.
When it comes down to electrical tape on the socket I smell what you're stepping in
Ford Windstar cowl comes off like that. We used to have one and I had to take the cowl off to get to the whole back of the engine.
I have always removed the hood and hinge from the car body, and never had a problem with putting it back in the right spot.
2004-2007 you can remove the upper washer tray assembly..2008 and above they changed it…And removing that upper windshield washer tray is a big help… The engine just pops out the top..And you can get at the exhaust bolts real easy…
Demand the robot vacuum
You never worked on a minivan and never want to
Did 380k on a grand caravan.
Hey Eric. Nissan Quest has the removable cowl
🤔 undo the sub frame, drop it from the bottom
Love your vids man, keep up the good work! BTW, if you just push down on the caravan wiper arms they will pop off. Push down right at the joint and pull up at on the end of the arm at the same time.
Keep the great videos coming.
This is William you are a qualified mechanic you are dam good l can learn a lot from you thanks for your time to do the videos thanks friend
never place the hood on top of the car unless it is upside down. The hinge will dent the roof.
I'd also pull the radiator, accidentally damaging it would be a bad thing. It's obvious she has a major soft spot for that puppy.

most transverse mounted engines are pretty much unworkable. You can do it but it's takes all the skin off your knuckles. Look on the bright side. At least it doesn't have a timing belt. 🙂
The Ford WINSTAR is the one with the removable cowel
The new engine has 71k, as you have the new engine out would you change the timing belt or chain knowing it would be premature but it is only 30k short of the recommend change time. Just curious….Clay F. From Coral Springs, Fl.
As a person who works on things I enjoy watching someone else, so as to learn, the commentary makes me laugh, the interaction in the comments section provides a sense of contribution and community. In short a good place to relax.
170k? It's time to wave goodbye. Run water until it dies. Save every penny towards a down payment. In my world by that time it has enough "deferred maintenance" to make it only worth its remaining parts.
