Come along with Eric O. at the SMA repair shop as he swaps out the 3.8 liter engine in this high mileage 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan that has a P0303 Misfire and has started to burn coolant. I am going to break this up in a multi part series to help keep the videos shorter.

Great Work Team.
I'm probably going to have to do this with my 2.8 diesel. Good to know it can be done fairly easily.
Oh my gosh this is killing me that he doesn't want to take the radiator out LOL
Thank you for this show
Your daughter is so good with engine crane.operation
Gotta love Junkyards and the lack of care on thinks like that damage on the Oil pan Hopefully it isn't so deep it caused damage to the bottom end like the crank or pickup tube Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
as a non mechanic its astonishing to see you do things that look like they should be impossible….tear down the whole installation then put it all back together correctly so that everything works and nothing leaks and nothing is forgotten or in the wrong order ….you seem to do it without textbooks or charts or notes and it looks like it takes maybe 8 hours…astonishing…it would take any ordinary mortal 2 months to get the same stuff done
Ok exelente
Thank you brother !! If you can do it I can do it !! Never tried to find or diagnose problems.. always just stuck to R&R .. but after a few of you vidoes I leaned a huge thing .. that being not al wiring is that bad as long as you break it down .. and keep it simple .. again I thank you and my mom thanks you !! I was able to diagnose the proble with her pt cruiser overheating.. without just throwing parts at it .. fan was trash..
It is awesome to see your daughter assisting. I have two daughters and they are both hello on cars. But one actually knows about vehicle maintenance. The other is just hell on a car!🤣
im listening
I love that Hanna wears the same pocket knife as dad.
they said an s10 blazer was a hard motor change i did mine in the driveway on 4.3 remove manifolds bell housing bolts are easier
Watched all 3 segments, enjoyed your humor and Misses O.
Thank you
You have a good helper! 😀 She’s learning the ropes👍
I came in late in the game and can't figure out if Hannah is kin to you or what. Love the way you two work together, she's an awesome helper! Keep up the good work!!
I have watched this video a few times. I still think the radiator would have not made it if I did the job past the first couple of bolts. Nice work.
Wait until she's working with a doctor and hands him the break cleaner 😀
The 4.7 camshaft sensor wheel changes too between JTEC and NGC computers around 2003..
Skin a Catfish.
how is miss hanna doing? last i heard she was finishing school and getting married.
The only reason I disliked the video was the sound I didn't understand one thing you were doing because you were talking away from the camera which I get you had alot going on
I’m late I know. Hannah is a total bas ass with that hoist! My boys would have “accidentally” killed me several times by now.
Here's a man with all the confidence in the world. Does a good an thorough job as well!
"It's always the black wire" 😂🤣😂🤣 … you were just talking to talk after a deliriously long day and then your brain kicked in "or maybe not… I don't know"… 😂🤣😂🤣
Eric, I realize this is an old video, but I'm curious if you've ever considered swapping an air over hydraulic ram in your shop crane? I'm considering this and would like to know if you have any thoughts on this, good or bad?
Interesting- thanks❤️✝️
Hannah is as good an assistant as you are mechanic. Great work you two!
its always the damn yellow tab.
Good helper
Eric, how do you know the Dunn’s out of Herminie PA?
What I learned today: If I ever lose my mind and decide to swap an engine myself, and a donor engine is available still in another vehicle, I'll take the engine out of the donor myself. I've found most of the guys that dismantle equipment or prep for remodeling have an attitude of "Don't care if it costs the next guy hours to fix the damage, my way saved me 2 minutes."
Yeah…. I am sure as maldonadok5 stated, you caused the damage so you could fix it, and be led to more frustration with a Dodge that you don’t like anyway. 🤣🤣🤣 Eric, you do a great job in dealing with difficulties, especially when they are bound to happen on a job like this.
Cheers love the the vid
Is Hannah in trade school for auto mechanics. I hope not because the best way to learn is to get hands on. That's how I learned from my father.
I've seen people who jacked the van up by placing the jack under the oil pan! They still seem to run that way, LOL!
I appreciate your practical application of the skilles you have learned. Way to go.
They are cleaved! (also means torn apart. That's a Contronym. Stay in school, kids.)
I've skinned cats, but I'm Chinese.
I called my local Chinese restaurant and they confirmed there are many ways to skin a cat. I hung up when they asked how I planned to prepare it and threw their takeout menu away.
U should of did that at the beginning ding dong
Ms. Hannah is a great helper. They're hard to find.
the old fork lift trick, in truth I taken delivery where much later I have discovered an operator has damaged
my product. happens, also I ripped a engine oil pan open on one of those parking lot concrete blocks where one side
the hold down rod was up , exposed, nailed the oil pan,
Eric I have been following you on and off for about two-three months. Who is a girl that is helping you in this video. I know it isn't Mrs O.
Yeah Eric your such a hack job😂😂 you didn't spread your magic Pixy dust in the motor to stop it from breaking 😂😂😂😂.
Every mechanic could use a shop hand like Hannah
You must live in your mother's basement.
I think this is such a hack job. I also think he created the original damage that cause this engine swap. he's got job security with this minivan because it seems like he fixes one thing but wrecks two other things its a cycle with this guy.
