In this video I follow up on a previous diagnose we had on a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 where I made the call on the ECM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIWJvZG76dI&t Now it's time to install the used ECM and make all of the other modules shake hands and play nice with it. -Enjoy!

Every dodge that I have done, I use my Autel im608 to change vin, never needed to use the immobilizer function yet once the vin is changed.
Makes sense to a retired master mechanic.
Only one complaint, if you can do it I’ve got no chance, lol. Really good video, detective Eric
ican see why people out of state come to you
It always sounds like you say "Welcome to the Self Made Auto Channel" lol
How do you service the 4wd on a solid axle, The actuator fail?
Crossed 🤞
I don't get it Shop A can't figure out problem they call you.. you work on the vehicle find said problem. fix vehicle now they're going to come back and finish taping up the wires and charge the customer accordingly?first of all I having to go through all the diagnostics of finding the problem I don't want somebody else messing with the wires and shorting it back out again… Second of all now isn't it your problem since they couldn't figure it out or is this just the neighborly thing to do is to help out?
Are you fixing a computer or a car? Dang you need to wear lots of hats to fix today's vehicles. The days of the shade tree mechanic are long gone.
I would love to see a how to on the otc brake-out box and how it works and how to use it. Thanks
Do you ever get a bad salvage ECM?
Couldn't u just disconnect the skim sensor while programing Vin and after program, plug it bak in?
Another ECM to send to Big Clive!
watching this video gave me severe headache..a maze of diagnosis.. believe me Eric O if you can do it, I can't do it.
Just a quick question. 2005 Hemi Ram 2500, no power in open loop. If you try to take off while cold in open loop it stutters and sputters. It runs fine in closed loop and no money light no codes. Any ideas?
Thanks for thecfollow up
Caution third
Could the OTC Scan tool been used to do the programming because it comes with the pass through device? Basically could it have been used from start to finish with the subscription?
The highest possible quality in autodiagnstic and autorepairs from SMA with no expense on tools to get the job done. No matter if it was a rodent fest truck. Awsome material as usual. Would love to see more of this porpietary tools and SW in action for in deep service.
Have you tried Autel j2534 passthrough device?
most of the time it will stays.. just do it twice until the security light comes off and put the odometer manually … no restore configuration needed
2010 Ram with bad computer issues….. another reason I'm glad I don't own a Fiat/Chrysler product.
I enjoyed this vid quite a bit. "Enhance, enhance" hahaha. Love it. I could not wait til you remove the back seat. I kept thinking, it's under the carpet somewhere, rip the seat out. Glad you didnt have to remove the seat though. Great stuff, sir.
Hi, Pack Rats chewed through wires on one injector and shorted on my Wife's 2010 Infiniti EX35 which blew the transistor. I opened the ECM and could see the burned transistor, but could not find a one-off matching replacement, but did find a used 2010 EX35 ECM on eBay for $150 and lifted one of the transistors as a replacement, and it worked.
Cheers,
Mark

Working on cars is more like working on computers.
how do U pull the pin numbre?
I love watching your videos. Your a hoot to watch. But…. I do not envy the amount of rust and crap you have to deal with. I have a dodge truck that has 226000 miles and is 20 years old and doesnt have 15% of the rust you have on a vehicle with 50000 miles on it. Thanks for all the great content keep it coming.
When u want it done right First place i would trust is SMA.
bigclivedotcom sent me. Great video.
Here because of Big Clive.
wrong size socket… Drink! forgot to turn on camera…. Drink! Broken Fastener…. DRINK! LOL
fyi, you were surprised no update was avialable. It may have already been done and had the correct firmware version?
So, my question is, did you charge for a new ecm?
you can do it! I can't but appreciate operators who can. nice NICE
After Christmas, that J-box is on my loooooong list of tools I need to buy. A scope is #1 on the list.
Nice couple vids on this one! I'll probably be referencing alot of your vids when I get stuck … "WHY won't this list populate???" 😂
Not much wrenching going on at the beginning of this week. Got to bring the little kittens to the vet, then haul a Ford 2N plow setup waaaaaay up near the Canadian border in NH. I'll be sure to let you all know if the Silverado decides to crap out on this trip. I always wonder which trip is gonna be the one I lose a BIG PILE of cash on. She's got almost 95k miles on her – close to the end of the road for that 5.3! 🤯 GM sure knows how to keep a tech busy …
As soon as you entered the PIN for the new ECM. Your phone rang; we all know it was Chrysler’s Men in Black on the other end.
Great job A+ like always
thanks Eric….you're definitely wrong..I could NOT do it.Great video.
Lately the level of "Whoa!" 's had dropped off noticeably. I daresay it's becoming "whoafully inadequate" Lol… Of course, this is merely jest. Everyone appreciates a tech/mech with a steady hand, and a steadicam.
Eric-O be the man. Great job mate.
Take that old Chrysler Ecm and format it with mrs o's street sweeper…lmao…just like your old hard drive..once again Dr. O, proves to be the man…thanks for the video.good luck hunting.
Unfortunately there is no "Replace With Non-Fiat-Chrysler Vehicle" light.
another one in the win column! look at all those lights on!! there is an investment in repairs right there.
Good call and job jobbed .
The software programming a real muddle, should be way more intuitive …
Do you have to go through all that bullshit if you buy a new replacement ECM from auto parts store/dealer?
a few times i thought about driving 4 hours to bring my car to you hahaha. i know it will be fixed right!
Did it bother you that you couldn’t try to figure out the other codes? I’m betting it did. Haha
Eric will the old cpu being repaired? Looks easy to me.
