Good for you! You tried your best to keep him off the road.
sorry but you should call the police and refuse the keys to the driver if you think hes over the limit, he could kill someone and it would be partially your fault
GOOD VID BAD PERSON U SHOULD HAVE CALLED COPS RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!
Call the cops on a drunk and you prevent him from harming someone for 24 hours – but push him down a flight of stairs and you prevent him from doing so… forever.
At the very least I'd bill the customer a half hour of flag time for the battery inspection and another half hour for the exhaust inspection since you weren't able to get any flag on this truck other than the CEL read & diag.
Tricky situation! Unless alcohol is smelled, could be a diabetic going into shock, or possible stroke. And being neither a cop nor a doctor, doesn't leave you a lot to work with! Calling the sheriff a good move.
I'm not a mechanic, I'm a journalist, and can relate to your position of impartiality. That said, I have informed authorities on incidences when there is a risk to life. I saw your follow up post, and good on you. Impartiality is important, so is a duty of care. ππΌ
Was he drunk or just got off work and extremely warn out. I work 12-14 hours a night. Ive straight up fell asleep in the waiting room once while i was getting new tires put on and normally slur my words from being so tired.
Who the hell gets drunk and thinks, hey I should get my car serviced today?!!!
Dude i hate them ford control arm balljoint sleeves i have had only like 1 out of like 6 that ive done stay in the knuckle
I do subscribe, and I do like every video I have watched. You're a good man and a good mechanic. You did this guy a big favor and maybe saved someone else's life.
Itβs a 350ci with the two front cylinders cut off basically those motors are bulletproof unless you overheat em. Which goes for most motors tranny not so much.
Screwdriver?
hi Rainman.. cool stuff
but kinda not clean gloves oilMan Ray greasy smudging the customers conveyance.
changeout your gloves before entry , greasy door handle, gearshift knob, window crank etc.
I was shouting out loud when you were tapping on the exhaustβ¦β¦. Screwdriver!!!!!
call the cops
Are u liable if he leaves your shop drunk and kills someone I see u said the police are aware just wondering if u have to report drunk people at your shop
I would have called the police and they could follow him out and stop him down the road, or sobriety test right there. You did right to report! BE WELL!
Had a works vehicle a number of years ago, that made a hissing sound every time you braked (it didn't have air brakes) . It was sent to the vehicle Maintenance Unit who tested it on the rolling road but they couldn't replicate the noise so they sent it back to us. Turned out that the fire extinguisher under the passenger seat had broken loose from its bracket, and each time you braked it rolled forward pressing the trigger slightly. It didn't do it on the rolling road because there was no forward inertia to make the extinguisher roll. Sometimes the easy solutions aren't so obvious.
I always go to the leaf spring shackle on those types of frames. Rather not grab the deadman.
I was wondering if in his condition that it is just possible that the customer might have possibly been driving the wrong vehicle.
I would have contacted the local constabulary and alerted them to the condition of the dr. It could have possibly saved a life.
could of just got a policeman to keep an eye on him as he leaves
What was that thing you spun in the door? Asks every gen z person
Good try ty for the video have a great day
I really digs the rock'n theme music. Bomp-pa Bomp ba-ba Bomp-bomΒ‘
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd drop a hint to the police so the guy can be checked out. I would hate it if he hit somebody.
You got shopped. The rattle was the screwdriver.
Wow what an idiot when he's got a good mechanic
Battery cleaning would clear codes
Glad the local sheriff was awareπ πΊπΈ Good call π€
Maybe he had a bad muffler bearing? lol
You tried Sir and I applaude you for your tactics
Like your videos, but hate the sign off!
Great job Ray!
Nice that you tried to stall him. Could you have called PD?
too bad you couldn't have filmed him
I hope they did something with this man that would suck if you left your place and killed somebody
Guy may have been diabetic. Low sugar symptoms often look similar to intoxication.
You failed to look under the seat to see how many beer cans were rattling around. Ha!
Do you not have a service manager and adviseors
Keeping someone drunk off the Road is Good on you that way they Can't kill someone
Does the driver have a checking engine light on in his eyes
that is not a clock it's an odomotor crazy man
I would of called the police
See a screwdriver π
If that was me, I would have spent an hour or so trying to find the rattle, or test drove it. Would have been more legit and what the customer asked for.
