butterfly may have helped , or a nut splitter may have expanded just enough .. good vid
9inch grinder to cut bolts like that.
Them fancy tool truck tools and you still had problems with them fasteners. I feel like my hazord fraught breaker bar and 3 dollar hammer could have rounded the nuts Just as well.
I might be wrong but that seal needed a GOOD coating of oil plus that flange too. I keep looking and it looks like the lip has folded outwards instead of running on the edge of that flange too. I hope I'm wrong.
Hey Ray what happen to Peter? Haven't heard him in your videos in awhile.
DORKMAN STRIKES AGAIN!!!!
LMAO! I had a visual in my head when that money shot got you in the glasses! When you say “Reeee” is priceless as well. With the positive attitude you have doing what you do makes me want to have a better attitude myself. Thank you for what you do on utube and for just being you. Don’t let the bad commenters get you down. They probably don’t share their toys either.
TWO moneyshots in ONE video!!!! Damn now I am tire…ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZ
When you reinstall the tranny do you shim the TC to the flex plate so that the snorkel of the TC is inserted into the trans pump completely?
Why wouldn't you take the top bell bolts out from inside?
You should at least give the penetrating oil time to work
Why not on known rusty nuts and bolts just go for heat to save time.
Is it odd that I tense up when watching difficult removal of parts 🙂 I have had to also torch and cut bolts loose, Not fun…
Ray, I meant to congratulate you when you hit 400K subscribers. Congratulations on getting 402K subscribers! Phenomenal!
Dude..7 tpi blades are way too coarse for steel…wth? Tell him 12 or 14 tpi. But I use them to cut structural steel, so maybe on cars…eh. Quick work bro! My daughter has an 04 Mustang and it was the rear main seal. Pulled the motor and got it done. Painted the covers red, looked and ran like new. A year later the trans lost 3rd. We should have rebuilt it when the motor was out. We didn't listen to our mechanic friend. So it hit home when you said you asked the car owner to do it right but they said no. You know what is coming…you will have to do it twice!
Remove exhaust manifold catalytic converter bolts to make a man out of you. A DEAD MAN, of COURSE.
Who was watching the Hunger Games and then country music?
Funny I thought this was recommended as I am doing a similar job on my Mustang.
Amazing to me how all the wiring still works after a procedure like this given the age of the plastics.
When you remove so many parts like this, do you recommend the customer change other items while you're that deep into the car?
You outta run a Sawzall on it
Engine: sees Ray coming in to reseal
Nobody: ….
Engine: SPLOOSH
Rainman rays oil bukkake fest
It's running down my face!
That's what she said 😂
You guys definitely listen to some decent music in the shop, I'm surprised you don't get hassled by the Copyright Police.
Anyone ever tell you, you look kind of like Jeff Goldblum?
Hey, question: Why don’t you use a 3/8 impact on those exhaust and torque converter nuts
Hey Ray. I have been following your channel for a while now, just wondering why I never see you use pneumatic tools?
LoL money shot
Come back!
Someone must really love that vehicle. I would of just dumped some stop leak in it and been done with it. 🤠
I love how you point things out like how there's rubber along the bottom of that plate. I was just thinking if oil is coming out now why wouldn't it later, but you explained why lol. Just as I was thinking it. I think the way you do things are extremely helpful, always a thumbs up!
That trans oil was nasty!!!
More prybar…
Is that mechanic porn “oil shot to the face” aka….money shot! To funny!🤣🤣🤣
Odd… YT on my phone is telling me this video is in HDR. Hmmm ..
Angle grinder kerf fine blade on bolts on truck
You always heat the nuts on exhaust bro. You are one hell of a mechanic and great videos. But I did exhaust full time for a couple years never broke on stud always heated them.
Induction heater set up- All of them would have come off, no need for the torch. Best Investment ever. Would not even consider that job with out it.
Nice open heh.
I love the ADDED IN voice over. Smooth transmission. I mean transition. You have something on your face. No the other side…..
With all the snow salt and rust in my area tahoes are always 4wd but if you use an acetylene torch to get the exhaust nuts glowing red they come off with a half inch impact gun step down extension to universal 3/8 swivel with 15 mm socket
Love a good long video after working all day 😁😁
Torque setting……..goodan tight…….click.
A set of Diablo Sawzall blades would have made that control arm job so much quicker. Same thing happened on my dad's 04 f150. Passenger side bolts seized up, cut through them in about 20 seconds. I hate people that just air hammer away blowing out everyone's eardrums in the shop.
That Sawzall action at the end 🤣
Yeah with Joe Biden's oil prices that is definitely a money shot alright
My crunchy body requires I first attempt using an impact wrench on exhaust bolts. Understanding you might not have had room….
Ray what is ur thoughts on this charcoal filter on a 2008 tundra trd. I have no clue why I never noticed it before but would it hurt to take that filter out and just run my k&n filter.
Get the company to pick up the tab for prescription safety glasses. Just record that you made the request.
why not use the torch on that bolt?
for the control arm
"Trans coming out", sounds like a big day for someone!
I only came for the spurt lol
I always used a 1/2 Milwaukee on the flange bolts and never had one round off just mostly snap or break loose
Your life would be so much easier if you lost the swivels and bought some quality tools instead of the American made junk you use.
The air hammer 🤣
You speed up the most important part
I am reminded again that good Mechanic's are PRICELESS. They earn their pay!!!!
"This is Carlton, your doorman."
"Fire! More Fire!", LOL!
Maybe a stupid question. If they only allow you 3.5 hours for a job and it takes you 8 hours, do you only get paid 3.5 hours for the day?
Can’t go wrong with the Diablo blades. Well worth the cost
Nice to see what this job entails. Had it done on our 02 Yukon and was dismayed at the cost. I feel a bit better now seeing how much work was involved to fix that oil leak.
I am amazed anything came loose , watching from Ontario Canada
Enjoyed😉
Hmm, I smell fire. Looks down casually Aaaah there it is. Just steps on it. Crisis averted. The way you handle things is hilarious
How do y’all keep from goin’ deef!! I’d use ear protection
As Prince Akeem would’ve said, “In The Face!!”
Fantastic as usual.
What are we working on today
Thank you for reminding me why I HATE auto work as a profession. Can sit and watch YOU do it all day, makes it easy peasy!!
Keep us posted on that blue Dodge with the rusted control arms.
Ray, you made the classic mistake of not removing the dipstick from the dipstick tube before starting work on the tranny. It's not the dipstick tube that was giving you grief, but rather the length of the dipstick itself 😛I've made that mistake too many times myself. Not busting your balls, just some tough love advice from one mechanic to another.
Why Do You Use Chrome Swivel's… People Have lost Teeth using something that…. This is always the Last resort! IMPACT SWIVLE SOCKETS
Ray you Crack me up. Ever since the harbor freight incident.. you call it out every time you use one. Keep the videos rolling
Pry bars are like cow bells. MORE PRY BAR.
Should of just torched those bolts off that ram would of took 2 minutes and saved a trip to Home Depot and cost of blades. Just make a sharp neutral flame and precision cut. Screw mopar and there bushings and bolts. A Jeep screwed my eyes out with leaf spring shackle bolts and every other bolt that day putting a lift kit on. In Ohio the rust is terrible so a torch is our best friend
That intro looks sus
yeah they got to me too….
Ray the transmission gave you a happy ending squirting. When you showed it the pry bar
That leak must have been bad to justify all that labor, good lord
Carbide will work fine I used a diablo carbide it cuts everything
These seals are supposed to go on dry and do not start the engine for few hrs rafter install. Crank should be cleaned of all oil also before install.
Great video Ray it's a lot of fun to watch and I do my own work on my Accent I understand this was not the car you were working on hehe yet I'm learning much from this channel!
Hello there…
That’s what’s leaking on my suburban… sucks
Ray loves his hot wrench…
The scam bots have finally showed up on this channel
