I bet that van smells like onions and poor life decisions ๐
Wow he fixes cars so fast
Do you have anything on any Saturn Vue? Of any size or year?
Another great video. I like the way you allow us to follow your thought process. Makes everything seem logical.
Who can fix the van ? The Van Man can
Nice explanation Ray liked how you broke it down. Hope your feeling better
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the scanner
It kept dropping. Lower and lower… but you paid no mind.
Take that to Taco Bell..get some food and eat in there…then take a nap.
Awwsum Possum
So the doctor prescribed these…and duct tape
Is that a super charger?
Why did the MAF sensor cause a gasoline smell though?
Hopefully they didn't ride like that too long all the extra gas can fry the Converters
I Googled my car problem and it referred me to Rainmans Utube channel
I have the same seatbelt ding-ding on my 2003 E150. I bought it new and it has 122,000 miles. There must be a bad sensor in the seatbelt system. My van shows the same symptoms with an intermittent engine miss & the smell of gas & service engine light. So far, they have replaced the coil pack twice, the plugs & wires & I still have the same issues. Iโm going to check the air intake in the morning. Needless to say, if this is just an air leak, the dealer and I are going to have a conversation. Many thanks!!
I like my eec4.. good ol 88 f250.. yet the obd2 in my 95 tbird is way easier to diagnose
Hate to see the quality of the techs work when he keeps the van in such filthy condition..Thats his office . He likely spend a good portion of his day in it..
People rely on computers to much and are not able to digest and analyze the information.
Hi thanks for the video I'm dealing with lean air conditioning right now on my 1998 e450 V10 gas motor home. One suggestion is to possibly add van or other keywords to this video as it show s how to remove the air box and sensor there was almost no other ones that actually show it they just talk about it. Thank you for the video
when i was younger my buddy and i worked on my old truck alot .he ccould fix anything with a bread tie. i always told him that would be on my head stone bread tie broke.
You actually got a lot of videos to catch up on. Look at that nothing wrong. Other than the fact the gentleman that was paid to replace the alternator wasnโt paid to put everything else back together correctly. So now they have to pay you to put the airflow system back together properly. So your nickname is the van man now. And a lot of times with plastic parts they just wear out. Because if you got to do any work on the front of that. The first thing that goes. Is the airflow system so you can look back in there. Little bit of tape where the plastic clips are usually tightens them up and holds it in to place.
I realize some shops will concentrate on the immediate problem, then don't touch anything else. But, do you at least check engine oil level and top off, and check tire pressures, not just a courtesy, but to CYA in case they're low and the customer becomes a jerk when something bad happens.
Remember, that any one of these jobs could be a test and the honest tech, like Ray, will come through as reputable. The dishonest will shotgun parts.
When you get a vehicle like this, and it's a simple fix, does the shop get a specific diag charge, say, one hour? I'd expect the customer will understand.
I was watching a German channel mechanic fixing a BMW . The short story- previous garage had been trying to fix a timing problem and gone to the trouble of having the head reconditioned ( you could imagine the cost) with no luck. They had it taken to this german mechanic and after looking over the car and the voltage supplies it turned out they had put the exhaust valve electrical block on the inlet valve block and vice versa. I dont believe they would have been honest with the customer myself.
I love when customers leave tons of cr@p and old food in the vehicle, that way I need a hazmat suit and 2 hours just to access anything.
Ray……you have the heart of a teacher and display a great deal or common sense ( a rare quality in this day and age). Great job of reasoning out the cause/effect concerning the problems. Thanks for the upload……people can learn a lot from your analysis technique.
Ray,you do a 70s type hippie van conversion with graphics?
Did the 710 fill cap get replaced?
Workmanship matters! If the previous mechanic gave a crap he would have made sure all of those connections were good before giving it back to the customer.
The interior looks gross๐คฎ Have they ever heard of a car wash?
416,000 miles? With a 5.4????? Probably the third or fourth one?
Another poor design from Fordgotta love it!
My last job was phone tech support for dental imaging equipment, with our flagship product being a panoramic/3D x-ray machine that cost 6 figures. Most common problem code was a communication error between the computer and the machine (so common that the code number was just 2). There were some days where I'd have to recommend $70,000 in parts, but far more often I'd have to tell the caller to plug an ethernet cable into a different port.
If it's loose and should be fixed.
Apply duct tape.
If it's fixed and should be loose.
Apply WD40
The Rainman storms again!
Would a few taps of silicone sealent help? Would lock it in place and would not be a permenant glue.
If you ever use the Gorilla glue you will throw the super glue away!
Damn, too bad my 3-d printer pallet isnโt big enough to print that assembly ! Could make some side cash otherwise.
The ultimate prank for Aggies driving vans that are all sealed up in the back and no way to look out if you have an old mirror hang it on the metal thing in the center of the windshield boy would that be a good prank
Just when you thought you were done with Econoline Vans, another sucks you back in
5 bongs is either a seat belt fault or a airbag system disabled due to bulb outage
Well done, Sir. I'm learning so much!!
What would you do if you can't find a mass air flow sensor for your vehicle At any parts store
Good vid Ray ! ๐
Nice you get to fix the cowboys fixes rushing jobs to cause problem's
How are econoline parts unobtainable?? Lol thereโs so many of them
I like the way you deal with facts and stear clear of the drama. Its mechanical and facts are the obvious solution to a mechanical problem. Some of these YouTube mechanics draw attention by diverting to the drama, which may be interesting to some as they do have viewers but being a technician myself (hvac)(appliance) they absolutely drive me nuts.
If I wanted to watch a drama I would find something more interesting than a he said she said conversations.
Well you proved it again Ray, the best tool in your toolbox is common sense BROTHER!
