In this video I have a look at a 1996 Ford Ranger that came in with rotter rear upper shock mounts, a broken exhaust hanger and the dampener on the rear driveshaft was rotted off! Time to make this rapid Ranger a little less rattly! -Enjoy

ERIC YOUR AWESOME AND YOUR COMMETING IS VERY HUMOROURS , THANKS FOR THE TIPS BRO,,DIG YOUR WORK THANK YOU,
Buddy I need those brackets on my 90ranger hauled some wood an they broke afterwards how much will that run me $$wise both sides
Yeah, I know this isn't a current video, but I wanted to say that I really appreciate your approach to things. You provide real world solutions that are effective and don't break the bank.
So much is you're doing a driveshaft on one of these compared to my pitched to Hell Ramcharger I change my universals every two months
Cool great job 👌
Which rear upper shock towers are interchangeable with a 98 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab, and why is 1995 at $16 and 2000 at $30
Sometimes those old rust buckets outlive us.
I enjoy SMA vids. Thanks a bunch pal.
Nice repairs, wondering if the driveshaft vibrated afterwards…
And I just finished watching the hollow shaft shock torching video. I watched this one next with bated breath, ready to lose my bejinkers.
Well done !!…I have a 94 ranger xlt and u made it look easy….my truck is crusty just like that one…keep the 94 ranger videos comin buddy….
In regards to welding under a vehicle do you have to use a fire blanket or anything to prevent sparks near gas/ other flamable fluids?? I'm a welder but never under a vehicle
Any recommendations on torque spec for shock mounts?
Good fix Eric. I'm sure the owner will be happy as a lark.
I have a ford ranger wildtrak and I love your Chaneel 😍😎
Well, I feel a little better now. I have a 96 F-150 with a broken rear shock mount. I haven't looked at it yet but I don't think I'll vomit when I do.😊
Man, you make it look so easy. The owner should get that truck a frame wash once in a while, that'd help avoid some of that rust.
Engage safety squints on the tack! Ha.
what is the spray you use when putting parts back together thanks
another masterpiece by Dr. O
ERIC, stop mentioning Napa. If they’re not sponsoring…fuck’em
That frame looks better than the Silverado covered in Ziebart goop.
It was like I was watching you working on my '94 . So simple even I can do it even though I've been turning wrenches longer than Scotty, mainly as a hobby to save money on simple vehicles that are primitive. I love your channel, I've learned tons of things I can use now to diagnose wiring issues.
Nice little impact gun what brand is it ??
Man I've seen better cars in the junkyard….never mind…you fixed it..good job there are people still out there willing to the work.
Look at them floor pans salt just eats them alive. Love old crappy truck to use around farm.
This guy is so smart!
You’ve got an answer for every situation Eric a true professional .as long as it’s safe for the public roads
How many problems did that thing have? You cant resist the spray grease like me too. oh and yes I love my tools as well, wouldn't be without power tools 😀
That’s one of the many quarks that I don’t like about owning a Ford everything is RIVETED ON for whatever reason, my dad always said cause they’re cheaper than bolts so that makes sense.
Good job Eric O.
Hey Eric, you ever watch Mustie1 on Youtube? He lives up in your corner of the country and has a favorite undercoating he makes. He uses chainsaw chain oil and some other highly tacky oil and mixes them then he heats them up in a microwave and sprays the underside of the car with an air sprayer. Says the trick is to drive around on dirt roads so the dirt soaks up the oil and form a shield against the salt and corrosion. He's had good success. He fills the frame, body panels and doors. You might not get along with him though. He likes to rebuild old Volkswagens.
Man why is it that all the ford that you work on are crusty and falling apart?
Absolutely amazing! All the end of your video should have that cool music
Fancy stuff! Nice to see something more rusty than front calipers. 😀
Just like the day she rolled off the factory floor…
Wife had a 94 B3000 that had the same set of issues. I also did the front shock mounts due to rust…was scary when the front one let loose and the shock hit the ground at speed!! It was a rusty PA truck, and left shortly thereafter.
What brand of gloves are they ?
Is that Astro long reach impact available yet?
My concern is we didn't hear a before and after clip.
you doubled the value of the truck with all that Fluid Film
when the truck will falls apart in 3 months ( if it will last that long) you can sell the mounts as almost new
My long bed XLT mid shaft bearing took a shart so that had to be changed, The rear of the truck went down because both rear spring perches rusted loose and the springs were rubbing and banging on the underside of the bed. Got those fixed and traded it off for a new FLEX which is a great car. Lost my arse on that deal.
I had a '97 Ranger with the same rustbelt-itis. I am glad it was red so you kind of missed seeing all of the rust-out places. The whole underside was an iron mine of tac-o-nite. I turned into an extra-cab money pit.
Anyone else find shiny new parts against rusty old shit so satisfying? 😂
Gee that truck is held together by rust.
Have you tried the bent tip for your cutting torch? It allow an almost flush cut. Might be helpful.
The "story" is called the Low End Subaru Blues!!
A little torch nic here and there, the big nasty, and a gleeful tada, and stuff falls off ready for repair. Nice job!
SEND IT!
Eric, I cannot believe NAPA makes a replacement bracket for the rear shocks given the factory unit was riveted. It makes you wonder how many of they sell as most of those trucks have been crushed…
