Ok let's be honest I just wanted to use the word "Build" in a video title because it sounds fancy. Anyhow, we just have to fix up a Ford Ranger 2wd that was dropped off at the shop with the front spindle all tore up. Time to take a trip to the junk yard and get some goods! -Enjoy!

I frigging love it this is so fun thank you 😊
i would have spent $600 on new parts…..why not…..my butt going down the interstate at 75 is worth $600 to me
Put a dampener belt on that rotor on the lathe will you.
Working on a Ranger, Got in a mess I cant seem to understand, Got a min?
What I want to know is how all of this is cheaper than just buying new parts? This ladies and gentleman is one hell of a mechanic who will go literally miles out of the way to help a customer out.
This is my kind of fun. Girls are gone, I'm gonna go make something out of junk. Yay!!
I'm here to watch the video but….. I'm not a sponsor.
I do like champion clothing we don't get much of it over here.
Where is the Sanford and Son theme music?
Sometimes OEM parts last longer than aftermarket…. finding that a lot on ford, Toyota, Honda cars
Mazda Parts are Identical and mostly Torssion Bar type. 🤔🤔
Going Primitive Pete with a screwdriver…Right On!!!
I had a small fleet of 87 Rangers. One had a complete spindle-bearing friction weld at low miles. I checked the other side. Hardly any grease in the bearing with a dry hub. The other 2 Rangers were the same. It was like the bearings had a light pack like you would find in a new set wrapped in wax paper. Nothing in the hub or anywhere else.
So, I have a 1998 Ford Ranger 2wd. It has coil springs in the front. So, I've read about these torsion bar setups. What's the difference? Which is better?
A mechanic going to a pick-N-pull junkyard to pull parts to save a customer money? Nah…. this is make believe!!!
Really glad I wasn't wearing headphones during the lathe work. 🤣
I'm in California so curious how this works. It looks like oil and old parts just end up in the dirt? We have to have a gravel with a system to catch drips. Extra parts go on the gravel so they can be sifted out.
"Ford Exploder" got a good laugh out of me
What’s the point of a torsion bar 2wd front end?
Placing a whole lot of trust in those steel rims
When your a movie star, people wanna luv u
When u resurface the rotor ain't u suppose to put the strap on the inside of it
So I take it that your brother does the big heavy equipment
In my experience, you-pull yards are pretty easy going about making you pay for attached parts! I'm surprised Eric had to pull all that junk off what he wanted.
I find it mad that in the US resurfacing breaks is a fairly common thing. In the UK we replace them due to safety.
I had a 1998 Ford ranger torsion bar suspension. As it got older the the suspension was horrible.
lol eric wheres the chatter ring lol
why didnt you use the band around the rotor when cutting it?
Cool video. The american ranger is way nicer than the weird one we had here in europe.
OK, Just a question or two…… when you made the final pass over the rotor, it appeared to be a bit on the fast side, or was that the Machine? Then, you ran a piece of sandpaper over the surface, to smooth off the cut?! Then, I was trained to place the elastic band over the edge of the rotor, I was never given a reason, just instructed this is how it is done. And Finally (I know), you placed the rotor in the 'wash' after the turning, was that to remove any metal 'fine' bits? Wouldn't it have been better to 'wash' the rotor before the 'cut'? Just asking for a friend…
I am learning a lot of new phrases here…. Ugga Dugga, the Money Light is on, and Lady… here's your problem…..Keep Up the Great Work…… Salute from Southaven MS
If it's junk (yard) why do they want money for it? LOL
The knuckle is not cast iron, it is forged, making it really strong.
Man, you’re a great 👍 person, who truly wants to help people, who are in need when money can be tight, Amen to you brother, a Saint, a Guardian Angel, I thank you for your hard work, professional experience, devotion, You’re The Best!!Have a BLESSED Day.
Rainman moment = Average Turns: 17
Can't wait for part 2… that sure was a busy fix rounding up the needed parts.
I can't believe all of the rust. I have never seen so much in my life on a car or truck.
Yeah field trip got my permission slip signed and a lunch
Eric – I'm a bachelor this weekend, so I'm gonna go to the junkyard and see if I can save my customer some time and money…
Me – I'm a bachelor this weekend, so I'm just gonna eat junk, drink beer and watch sports in my underwear…
You always find a creative solution to the problem confronting you. I'm glad you were able to find the parts you needed at the junk yard. Treasures in disguise.
My 2002 Mazda B2300 was a Ford ranger. Something to consider in the bone yard
I don't of any other mechanic that would personally go to a U-Pull and do what you do for your customers. How do you charge for your time at a U-Pull.
I luv Ford Rangers!!!
Great job… For a friend in need thats my call..rotors are cheap to take the time to machine them… Got to be a friend…
So nice to goto your brothers shop to use other tools, that's what family is for
If you don't want to get spotted, don't wear an SMA sweatshirt.
Man! This is starting to be come a common problem. I happen to have the same problem on the same side on my 00 Ford Explorer sport. Thanks for posting this. Went to junkyard and took the spindle and the ABS sensor. The rotors brakes and bearings all new.
Thank god I don't live in the northeast. SALT. We use volcanic rock in the west on roads.
