I got some dorman... yes I said DORMAN bushing to put in the back of this 2012 Ford Taurus and a couple of toe links (tie rods) to throw on this baby and gets its rear end back in shape. Lets get this job done!

I bought a moog bushing and now I am wondering if I made a mistake
Love the workaround and help saving the customer money. Loving the music looking back from 2022.
Who ever made up the car inspection laws obviously was not a mechanic otherwise it may have been different because to me a Ball Joint is more critical than a bushing!!
and you said DON'T BUY DORMAN!!!
Could be worse, you could have a 2016 – 2020 Chevy Malibu and have to change both rear knuckles when the bushings seize. GM came out with updated knuckles but no recall.
I thought you are mechanic?Video shows "learn as you go" person or "do it your self"person
Those toe links were recalled by Ford due to their welds breaking. The replacement is forged instead of welded. Also Federal Mogul now offers all those bushings made here in Murica! Upper knuckles are less than $10 ea for those who wish to know!
Hell the truth be known for men probably made the original ones
Just a question, I've noticed there are two bushings on the rear knuckle just wondering if they are the same size
That outer sleeve popped loose and started moving and i yelled out there is no way that just worked… my wife is like what and i go this dude is awesome .that would never have worked for me.
What are the torque specs for for Toe Link?
It's nice when they rivet them on so you can drill out.. the use 3 screws to secure new ballpoint. Think my 99 Dakota did that
I saw someone cut the rubber then pop it out maybe subframe bushing on saab
i got mine from ebay
if you get one job like that freeze the part fist it well go easier
I ran into the same problem on a 2006 Dodge ram left front upper ball joint can I find a proper receiver cup to remove old ball joint
As a retired toolmaker i understand and admire your approach to difficult mechanical problems.
I enjoy your cryptic comments as well.
Hi to your lovely wife and family.
i don,t know many shops that doe,s all that hard work, kutos to you eric
No safety glasses???????
I always put the new part in the freezer for the night before and then press it in
Dose of panther pee!!
Well hitter with some penguin pee and shuffle out the old one and the new one in.
Wait until it needs a water pump, Gravy all day long!
The press is never long enough…
Have you ever replace rear bushings on a 2014-15 jeep cherokee. Knuckle bushings in Canada cost 700$ a piece by Nappa. I found in Bathurst New Brunswick an engineer that build bushings with a quality that surpass Asian products. What tools should I buy to take out those bushings from the knuckles. Please give me your recommendation. Thanks.
Surprised u didn’t spray the old bushing !!
Astro, not a sponsor?
at 75 years and counting I love your videos .
all of my own vehicles get a liberal coating of ( Applied Metatect) rust / corrosion protection . a bit messy but it sure inhibits the dreaded crusty virus.
That is one nice beefy puller.
you could try some magic 50/50 penetrating oil and a nice thick spacer on the ball joint puller.
Had to do the same thing to my wifes flex, same bushing, dead at 125k. I had to take the knuckle off and have a local mechanic press them in for me though. PITA!!!!
Helpful tip, make sure you have a similar cup as his for your ball joint press, otherwise it might not fit on straight. Also another way to do this that works well is to pull the knuckle off the car and use a press to get the bushing out
How can these parts wear out so quickly?
Works all day, no safety glasses. Then needs them when daughter pokes him in the eye with a plastic dinosaur!😁 Love the videos.
Good Friends HUH…..lol
Nice job….nice fabrication on the tools
I always use the “problem solver”. When working on cars
I miss my dad. Give anything to see him again.
My name is Kenny Hutchens I watch your videos all the time you always do excellent work from as far as I can see on the one thing I can say I'm 49 years old now when I was 15 years old and tell her I was 18 years old I work for a man named Cadillac Jack and he taught me never put your hands on the clean rotor whether it's new or old always make sure they're 100% plain and I have always done that and never have any bright problems now from where I was young and I understood by the way 100% today at 49 years old but good work then I always say that you do I live in a Rusty's state of West Virginia myself , I'd like to send me the mail on that address where you are exactly located thank you
It's as good as watching porn. Nice job.
Hi Eric watched your video on bushing replacement on rear of Ford Taurus I noticed you could shorter bushings for your ball joint press for that job if you would like I can make you the ones you need send me the measurements and I will make you some. Love your videos you are a great !!
I love watching Eric O. saving his customer money. Once again Eric conclusively demonstrates what real people do. Despite all the horrible stories, almost all people do their best, and do not try to cheat. Otherwise our entire technical society would collapse. Every day, in thousands of ways you trust your life to unknown people. If they have not done their best you will be in serious trouble, e.g. street lights do not fall in the wind, the freeway bridges do not collapse, the roof over the gas pumps withstands the thunderstorm wind, the store roof holds up under tons of wet snow. The list is endless.
What? It is OK for the bushing to fail in three years because the car is driven on rough roads?!? I don't think so. Rough roads are ROADS, so this owner is not going off-road.
Great vid! I probably would have applied Never-Seez to the fasteners though, to help things go easier next time.
Do you have a video doing rear shocks on this car I can not find a good video for that year of car
But can she do it?
Those are great tools, like you say, they last a long time at less cost than Snap-on or Matco. Great Video too. Enjoy your kids when they are young. It won't be long, they'll be grown up!
