I just looked Florida maxes at 8k, so that was bullshit story you told.
Ur story about the engine cover sound like bullshit to me, most small claims courts max at 5k, some are 10k. I doubt any states allow for 13k. Not to mention no judge would give for emotion damage for something so stupid.
That intake comes off very easily btw. At honda we charge 4 hours for front and rear, some guys will charge less to sell the work.
its nice being at the dealership. We have unlimited supply of parts, if we break something we just go grab a new one. Also we dont have to deal with broke ass people buying parts from junk yard. We send those people to you guys. lmao. Personally i would refuse to put some junk yard subframe on. Ive gotten brand new ones with issues before. I wouldnt take that risk. Another nice thing at the dealer is all the tech have 100 a week for shop supplies. Rarely do we ever come close to that number but its nice. The dealers auto order all the special tools and equipment the shop needs, we almost always have special tools and chassis ear. We have 4 sets of chassis ears so we always have one that works. 3 brand new align bay that just got upgraded.
Listening to the first 10 secs i would be thinking its fuel pump purge valve.
I changed a starter once and guy called me up complaining his car won't start, was out of gas when i got there, faulty gas gauge nothing wrong with the starter, which made me want to quit being a mechanic.. people can be so cruel when they want to be, have to work in a shop with insurance these days, back yard guys will get screwed because they will blame you for every little thing once you touch their car.
I took my decorative engine cover and threw it in back of the shop. If the manufacturers are so ashamed of the way their engines look now days they shouldn’t make them look so ugly !!!!!
Mental anguish! The guy is a good reason to bring back institutions (for the insane)…
Why no just jack it up a bit ? with jack and jackstands ?
Love your vids Ray! What do you think about spline drive?
What exactly does "have a nice day" translate into English as ?? I wonder ( Ha. Ha. )
Thoroughly enjoying your videos. thanks
I catch my self saying “click” at often times when i have a hard time getting a fixture loose. What a hoot. Thanks 😊
I just had a throttle plate jam on the highway. I was able to get off to a ramp and wide shoulder.
It turns out I had forgotten a bag I used to cover the intake tube on my Jeep TJ when working on it months ago. It got sucked into the filter box and stayed there until an aggressive merge to highway speeds, which sucked it through the filter and on into the throttle body, where I retrieved it.
It could have been much worse!
…
"It's my first day and I don't know what I'm doing." HA! Canon!
That's funny. The vehicle owner thought the shop was going to cash in by trafficking his engine cover on the well known booming black market for 11 year old dirty plastic cosmetic Honda Pilot engine covers.
What’s fun about my car is the engine cover is also my air filter, so it’s probably one of the only times not having the cover would matter for more than a cosmetic reason
OK, I have to ask.. What's the Deal with all the leaves on EVERY vehicle you work on? Seriously it cracks me up and where I know it's an odd question I'm really curious, first does everyone park their cars under tree's and if so why the heck don't they remove the leaves off their cars..??
I did more than 20 years as a auto-tech. Retired went into corrections. I enjoy watching Ray' videos in opinion there the best. Keep it up Ray.
Probably the customer who sued is relatives to the one’s who sued McDonalds because the coffee was hot and the other one because their kid got fat eating their food.
I appreciate your non-evilness. I go to a backcountry father-son shop who are also non-evil. I do everything I can to make their lives easier and direct QUALITY customers to their business.
Cool story except I think I'd have slamed the door on him…
I quit repair shops, even Dealers! Every time I took a Vehicle in for service/repairs they might fix the problem but they would break something else! 2 door hinges, 1 door handle, a radio, a total paint job, a transmission, cruse control switch, an engine (Dealer oil change failed to instal oil filter on Miata Speed) I quit in 2004, if I can't fix it, it don't get fixed, Now have and maintain 2 Suburbans, a 3/4 ton pickup, a BMW, 2 dune buggies and a 26 foot aluminum van (Food Truck). I like the way you work, if I lived in Florida I'd be headed your way.
Love watching Ray but so many reminders as to why I'm gladly officially retired, the only vehicles I work on now are in my name.
Can’t believe someone took you to court for emotional damage of a engine cover 🙈 also love your videos
I would think some time spent with a shop jack and jack stands would be well spent to make it easier to change the oil and filter, no matter how skinny you are.
OH RAYMOND, love the channel,
But this video has made me angry 😡 in two ways,
1st some people will spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a handbag or a pair of trainers, but will only spend the minimum amount of money on their car,
2nd please don’t get me wrong I love the USA , but you guys need to sort your shit out !!! people like the dude who took you to court over that need to pay all your lost time and earnings plus your company’s time ,
Why did he not just come to your company and explain the situation and its done,
PS I’m glad you did not repair that truck with the rusty chassis!!!
You would be doing video’s of prison food,
Yeah you would be the GORDON RAMSAY of prison food 🍱
I've purposely thrown away every engine cover any of my cars have had. What even is the purpose of those? When I open the hood I want to see the engine and immediately see if there's any issues.. what I don't want to see is a bunch of useless plastic.
I have an issue with your titles sir 😅 I am left to sit in suspense until what happens in your title occurs and sometimes what occurs is incredibly subtle, but I love your content ❤
I can't understand why they would throw away an engine cover. Although the employees I used to work with would probably do the same thing. Glad I am retired for 10 years now.
I work at a body shop in New Mexico and we do all that work also
Man, jack the car up. You guys with lifts are so spoilt. 😉
Don't you know oil filters need to be torqued to 150 ftlbs lol
not being angry when you are angry is the part of everyone's job ! kudos to you for pointing that out, and you are a great teacher of mechanics as well ! thank you, your videos have been very informative!
The guy who sued you must have been a whining LIBERAL
Seal is gone I had the same problem when I bought my used car
Pain and Suffering, emotional damage? WTH?
I only came to hear your story about the lawsuit! Lmao
Umm, you don't have a mobile floor jack you could use?
“Plastech” in a exactly what you’d expect Honda to call something 😂
Hey Ray, I have 2012 ram 2500 with the 6.7L diesel and about 170000kms. I'm doing the emissions delete on it, I live in Canada by the way. I know your take on fuel additives but once I remove the EGR, is there anything that I can put in the engine to help clean out some of the soot that has accumulated over time? Thanks. Love the videos.
Really after you bought him an engine cover he still decided to sue you. Youtube this guy Rainman is not good he’s GREAT we are lucky to have him making videos for us. Video was great and glad you won the case.
It is the vcm system, completely ruins the j series engine! Aside from not maintaining your engine.
Can one SAFELY wash under the hood of say a 1995 Chevy Caprice Classic?
Parts are Cheap, compared to the Labor Cost.
In the 70's
At 16 yrs old, my Transmission went out, shop said they could get one for $300.
The bill was almost $1000. I paid it!!!
Looking at the Work Ticket, it was Labor & Shop Time, they Got Me On…
No More, I do All My own Stuff Now…
I went Beyond, I learned Machining & Fabrication.
G,day Ray what motor do you enjoy to drive.
rent or buy a shipping container, also called a "can" the kind they use on ships for shipping from over seas,,, They are as cheap as 4 grand. It will fit in the lot I would think,, some are short, 30 ft x 102 inches wide and idk like9 ft some inchs high with swing doors. Makes good storage.
2011 Honda Pilot, owned about 13 years..? Umm anyone else?
Doesn't a "tappy tap" contain 2 taps? When I do the second tap it unselects the thumb's up ;^)
