Very cool.
Is that a milwaukee cordless rachet?
Hack 😂😂
Ive been binge watching Ray's videos for a few days now. Great content. Now i just have the shop ringer stuck in my head.
I once flattened a lead wheel weight and used it as a shim. Worked perfect. After you flatten it you get enough to do a couple cars.
I watch your show all time I work In cass lake minesota chevy exoust bolts on manifold flange thay make a heat coil to eliminate using a torch for bolt heads on Amazon amazing what you find it you just look around bit just wanted text that to you keep up the good work get good laff phone ring I love my job were I work I'm hoping to continue for rest of my time have good day
For battery terminals I would have take an beating screw driving on each side of clamps put a indent slot to dig into battery lead terminal when you clamp down
Love your videos and have learned alot of modern car troubleshooting from you. I'm kinda surprised however that you would replace the starter with two known loose battery connections and low battery voltage. Most good batteries are around 12.8 volts. I have seen bad connections and low battery power not Click-click-click in the past. I bet if the starter was re-installed it would work just fine. Dont flame…Just my opinion 🙂 I'll stick to fixing Diagnostic Medical devices and you stick to Automobile Engineering.
I love your videos. But feel like the customers interiors are disrespected. Your gloves were nasty as hell when you turned it off at the end. I personally get infuriated when I find grease in my interior.
"One more time, let's do it again." I'm not the only one who has random Real McCoy lyrics pop into their head.
coulda just squeezed the round open part of the terminals so it gripped tighter. shoulda coulda woulda.
Nice of you to do Instant, personal manufacturing.
Never ever use a Fram product they are pure garbage
Was the starter motor bad or just the solenoid? Maybe they do not work like older cars,?
what a bunch of cheap engineering !
probably the worst Designed starter i ever seen and I have a GEO METRO!
Did you just drop that bolt on the floor ?
Yo Ray what about the ol hammer hit while starting likely will allow one try to restart… revealing said problem.
"I'm not a betting man unless I know I've already won." I tell my kids this all the time. They will NEVER bet me when I ask them, "Do you want to bet $20 on that?" They will immediately admit that I'm right and they're wrong.
If you ever want out of the 4-wheeler world. You would make a good industrial mechanic. Robots, VFDs, vision systems and servos are awesome!
Maybe I missed something, but why didn't you just put new terminals on it and then charge the customer for the parts and installation?
Love all the safety measures in place and the phrases you use safety squints was my favorite lol
Copper tape
it is funny how u need schema to check relay
I don’t know if anyone has said this or not but I use pennies for battery terminal spacers. Works every time.
You must always remember when messing with DC it will always show current while sitting alone but soon as you invade it with a load it loses its current continuity so you would not be working on my car or any of my friends just so you know I've been a diesel mechanic for a 34 years I've dealt with DC and many types of votes.
This tech is actually thinking he's working on his own car laugh out loud
Yeah you just sort of starter to a customer that didn't need a starter trust me I found where you failed to check your ground under a load.
Even though it might have showed just a little under 11 volts it'll do that DC's crazy currents but when you put it under a load it will not do nothing I always check your starter manually by pulling it out to a battery charger then you know for sure
Always take and check your starter with a battery charger to find out that it is faulty I'm sure you can hook that up after what I've seen you do but that is one way to find out you wasn't getting a full 12 volts or any battery to your main cable.
Nice Fluke multimeter! Kinda overkill for auto repair.
Best thing about self liberating chassis is no stuck bolts, only slippery ones.
What program do you use to get those wiring diagrams, it would be really handy to have when restoring cars
That battery terminal home-made clamp looks a real bodge. Yukk!
safety glasses are the best now if i had a safety suit thats keep the rest of the body safe like a ironman suit
All that oil leaking shorted the solenoid.
Don't like this idea much
Hell put some different fittings on that thing !
Gotta love them self lubricating chassis modules!
I remember 100 yrs ago, we wld just screwdriver test the solenoid orrrr take out the starter and use hotshot cables on the solenoid. I guess these days, mechanics are more sensitive 😁
Quick Simple trick I use on the battery term. is open as much as poss., grab a small cotter pin, put it between the term. and post and tighten, works every time. O'L timer taught me that. Great video's.
Ray, I understand that you have to find cheap solutions for a problem to satisfy your customers.
But I think you rather fixed the battery clamp issue in a more nicer way. New clamps for instance.
Do d do d do😀
Lose battery terminal = bad alternator = bad battery from not being charged completely
Some one call dawn dish soap!
The ignitions on Saturn had a problem
What brand are those jumper wires?
Well Ray discovers oil on Saturn…
Put dielectric grease on those battery terminals.
