Come along with Eric O. at the SMA shop as we have a look at this Honda CRV that has the ABS and VSA Light on. We quickly find out it has a code 66-01 stored in it indicating a "Pressure Sensor Malfunction." Unfortunately we also find out the entire ABS module has to be replaced to fix it! We also learn a valuable lesson in scan tool data how it can lead you astray. -Enjoy!

May God bless u and your family bro… Amin, Amin Amin
I'm having a similar problem with my CRV, is there a slightly cheaper OBD scanner you can use to do the sensor adjustment since $1200 for a scanner is a bit much for something I might not use a lot like $200 range
Do you have to program the module once it was installed? Thanks
Strange my autel won’t let me do a steering angle/neutral position memorize re learn. Brakes holding pressure on rotors after 15 mins of run time.
I’m shooting toward VSA-ABS module causing the issue.
did he say I've got the fish burps? ruined my appetite for the next month :0
I have a 08 honda crv and the vsa and check engine light came on at the same time
Please put in the title the year model .
You are a good dude. Thanks!
my crv 2007 every 15 minutes my brake get stuck i don’t know way i wait 25 minutes and the car is free to move
Lmao 🤣 do some hand movements puppet hands or something there's some freaks out there that like that lmao 🤣😂
2014 Honda Odyssey VSA/Brake light on intermittently? OK this is crazy, it comes on both lights and then will go off SOMETIMES when to stop some place and go again. Then some times it will stay off for a day or week or 5 minutes! This has been going on now for three years! What in the world is causing this? Fluid, brakes as is good here. Disconnect battery left over night clears up may last a week or 5 minutes. Just a real pain in the butt. Suggestions short of selling it? Thanks what should I try or look for now?
Mine had the red brake light on as well, mechanic got rid of the light but still has vsa, abs so it must be abs pressure sensor? I've seen that the only people who rebuild these are in England!!??
The video made me laugh and smile and happy!!!!
Subscribed because of the dogs!!! Cool!!! Wifey is a cutie!!!
Hey brother how to re full up the brake lines of the c abs modulator?
good job thanks!
Thanks Mrs.O
PB Blaster, CRC556 ,marvel mystery oil,and diesel additive believe it or not works really well, and Lawson rust cutter penetrator and Lawson banana oil
Hey brother been watching your program for about a year learned a lot of interesting things please keep up the good work now I’ve hit a problem with my breaks on 2008 Honda Pilot they keep locking up getting a code 68 I threw the parts cannon at the problem changed the booster 3 changed master cylinder 2 twice all calipers replaced as well as all break hoses front and back inner putter on rear check valve hose to booster replaced changed break switch for my code 68 still locking up when I drive it for about 10 minutes if let it sit it will return to normal got frustrated sent it over to Honda they wanted to throw another parts cannon at the problem which I refused of course but they couldn’t figure it out I did have it driving for about 1k miles with the 3 booster from the bone yard but the problem happened again any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks
Ha Ha I also use Fluid Film on the bleeder screws as well.
I had the exact same issue on my 2008 Accord V6 EX-L sedan. I bough a scan tool, verified it, purchased the part from LKQ and had my local mechanic install it. Thank you Eric, this would have been well over $1,000+ from my local dealership, excellent video!
Can I replace the ABS/VSA module, bleed the system, and then drive it to a shop for initialization/recalibration/sensor adjustment? Is the initialization and sensor adjustment the same thing? Looks like it only takes a minute?
GREAT video….going to double check my abs comp;uter (yes $2000 for a new one…crazy eh) …Peace
A freaking animal ha ha Ha
Very informative video. Thanks. I have those 3 lights ok right now in my 05 crv. Abs, warning and vsa. All the diagnostic i cant do since i just have a basic scanning tool. My crv had the code p2647, i changed the vtec solenoid and no more codes but those lights are still on. I wilm see what happenes.
Hi before you take the lines out of the abs module do you have to bleed the brakes first? So there will be no pressure?
I don't know if this has been asked…but why replace the pump/solenoids on the ABS? Why not just the control module? The chinese do not design most scan tools,Americans do and have Chinese build them. Autel is all Chinese company.
I fixed a similar problem on a 2005 Honda Pilot today by jumping ODB pins 4 and 9 and then manual reset of ABS and VSA by sequence of brake depress and VSA off button.
I wish I could ship my 06 Honda CRV to you. I am in Maryland The VSA system light comes on and engine light comes on at the same time. I took it to Honda and they read codes 25-1 62-1 83-1 104-1. When remove the negative battery terminal everything clears and it is good for a while
Always like the stuff you put on here dude lots of information and stuff to learn Trump especially the stuff that you do on Honda Elements
Oohh man, my 04 honduuu pilot is doing olmost the same thing, is giving me code 61-01 and vtm-4 light comes on when brake is applied, but the battery is fully charge, I turn off the vehicle and the light goes off until I drive the car for about a mile and brake the vtm-4 light comebacks along with abs and brake lights and the needle in my dashboard start going crazy up and down and obviously that clicking sound that scares the heck out of me when it happens, any ideas would help thanks in advance, oohh I change the alternator already so rule that out.
I have allways been using vacuum bleeders on the calipers. No pressing the brake pedal, no pressurizing the system. It has been working good for me. If necessary, I open the valves in the abs unit with the scan tool. As far as I know we all do that here in Norway, but on YouTube it seems like nobody in murica uses that ¿
I have the same problem with my crv 2005
Have a VSA issue. No brake pressure or Fluid Codes. Have a consistent P2684 (think that’s right). Cleared all codes yesterday.
where can I get the system you are using to indicate the problems at hand? thank you
Can vsa module be repaired?
What scanner is that? Launch 339?
What is a good scanner for a 2006 honda pilot. That will let me know exactly what is going on. Im a single mom of 2 lil girls and when there is a malfunction issue on anything, "quick to get" the answer & the solution. I would really be thankful to know the best one to purchase.
Ive replaced all the abs sensors on my 2004 honda crv. But when tested with a bosch obd2 scanner all these codes popped up.
Any one have any advice… PLEASE!!! Ccould it be the abs modulator. Brakes are brand new drilled and slotted rotors(they were being clearanced out and were the same price as the regular ones) and performance pads. Calipers are new.
Im asking for help cause my 06 mustang is going into the trans shop to be diagnosed. This crv is the only means transportation until and when we can afford to pay for the mustang to be fixed. Im a disable vet… and my girlfriend and I are on a tight budget.
But here are the codes… 12-1 , 13-1, 17-1, 18-1 , 61-1, 62-1 , p1457 abs codes for the 2004 honda cr-v awd 2.4 liter. Any advice is appreciated.
haha food and one other thing, that's hilarious….. love ur vids
mannn eric, slow that idle down, its killing me 🙂
It's wild, I own a AWD 05 CRV, same color but different color pinstripe, same interior, same problem, and this is the first video that popped up. Luckily I own another CRV I can switch out the part from. I do however have a question, my other CRV is not AWD. Is that going to be an issue?
thanks excellent video
He did call Megapascal Megaparsec. I do wonder where the heck he has that professional astronomical unit from! (1 Megaparsec is approx. 3.6 lightyears I believe)
too funny , I just bought a 2005 crv with a VSA code !! among others , thanks , I was going to check sensors on wheels .. only because I had a toy 4runner that had abs error and is a wheel sensor … go figure all this japanese stuff responds a different way !
Did you have to exercise the ABS module to get all the air out of it?
I have a hyundai sonata 2011 hybrid with code c1237 primary sensor signal. Would that cause the brakes to lose pressure?
very helpful I'd just fix my car with the problem, now i have a new issue with my car it's making a knocking noise when push the brakes!
I have an issue with a 2006 Honda Pilot. The right front brake locks up. Ive changed everything brake related on the vehicle. New brake hoses, calipers, rotors, and pads. The only way it releases is if I crack open the bleeder valve. I’ve recently installed a new master cylinder, but I’m preparing for the worse in case it is the abs pump. Awesome video.
