After receiving many messages asking me if "BIG NASTY" is really as good as I say it is I decided to make this short video. The Astro 4980 is indeed the nastiest air hammer I have ever used. I have both MAC Tools and Snap-On long barrel air hammer. They do not even compare to the power of this this beast!

I picked one up for my shop. Got to use it today. Wow. Extreme violence. Threw out my old harbor freight. This baby earned its spot in the tool box. Wow
Proof is in the Putin?
I will never forget the first time time I used a cp 717.
I use a cp 717
I showed this video to my Snapon rep today he didn't say much. Other than the "specs are basically the same"
In fairness the swivel joint didn't do the Snap-On one any favours.
I just purchased one of the 4980s for my son who is a diesel mechanic . Thanks for doing this video, it helped me decide which way to go in the air hammer selection process.
Is the quick attachment sold separately, I imagine it is.
What's the deal? NOBODY has this in stock anymore? Is it made in China & caught in the import clog????
could someone use a rotary hammer instead of an air hammer?
looking to make my first purchase and leaning electric bc I have the batter packs
i just spent all day pressing one out. wtf!!!
I know this is an old video but what kind of air compressor would you recommend to use with BIG NASTY?
So… anyone want to buy an old clapped out snap-on air hammer. Needs a good home ๐
Do they have a cordless battery version of that?
Congrats on your custom 498K edition!
Do you run big nasty on a regulated air source?
I bought one of those astros a while back and it's incredible.
Big Nasty is just begging for a song to be written about it.
That snap on polisher loosened it up for you.
Yeah. Snap-on is too expensive and less power. My $140 air hammer can do better than that snap on. At least, you got a better air hammer for cheap.
Better even when you ran the compressor down with the snap on to the point it kicked on and it still took it out.
Went to buy one on amazon after this and see your video on the listing. That's pretty cool
So considered getting the big nasty but the snap on guy gave me the ph3050b for $275 which I could not pass up and traded my old ingersol. The snap on air hammer does not have the same power that even my ingersol had.
I can hear all the snap-on guys crying all the from my house.
Big NASTYYYYY FOR THE WIN..
I'M TOOLING UP BECAUSE OF E.O AND ASTRO
I want to buy a big nasty but where do I get the quick connect at I can't find it any where??? Thanks Eric! can you post a link?
you can't fool me that Snapon loosened it up so big nasty could finish it up
Ok Iโll be buying one. Not the first video of big nastey ive seen. But the time has come.
Proof's in the pudding lol. I thought that's what he said
what about Ingersoll Rand 121 is this any good for a .401 hammer ??
Hey, I'm wondering if you have another link to the hammer bit? I cant find the astro one, is there another brand youd recommend? Thanks! Love the videos
Best tool review ever.
I'm in love <3 That is next tool I buy.
Apples and oranges unless both hammers are brand new. Ridiculous
What about Ingersoll rand air hammer? Mine out performs snap on. Have you tried that one?
'nuff said!
I love the Aka big nasty๐
The wife keeps one in her nightstand.
All hail Big Nasty.
Sold.
Did you put on a different chuck?
Is this the same as the Chicago Pneumatic CP 717 Super Duty air hammer?
And note the use of ear muffs, kids…
What's the bit holder you have on that baby?
i'm sold
I bought big nasty but I am having trouble finding the quick retainer and bits for the .498 shank, where did you get yours?
Well, got the Ingersoll Rand 122maxk. It's the poor mans Big Nasty. 150 bucks. Knocks out a ball joint, and knocks one back in.(used a large long socket and the air hammer to bang it back in, easily)
What pressure do you use for the Big Nasty air hammer? Wandering if my little residential compressor will have what it takes. I can't really find specs on minimum requirements.
aka the CP 717 , thank you for the vid!
Matco 2816 is pretty strong as well
