Urgent question: if I blew the fusable link wire, do I just replace it with a wire from the alternator to the starter?

Just had this same issue with my wife’s compass. Started fine one morning and then go to start it in the afternoon and nothing. Kind of a pain in the ass to change but if I didn’t find this video first I would prolly have broken more stuff 😂 keep up the great content

I pulled you up for the first time, as a woman that doesn't work on cars I am curious to see what it takes to replace a starter. I do own a Jeep Compass, and believe that I need to replace my starter. Doing my research now, on cost of part, and labor. Love your story telling, although I get the impression you could have been a good doctor, due to your desire to know how things work, and fix them. So many parts to remember. WOW.

I thought I had lucked out when I found this vid as this is exactly the job I need to do this weekend. But after watching it, I'm not sure I can use it as a reference … I can't watch more than a few minutes without my eyes filling up with tears of laughter – I even made my wife watch it. I had a crankshaft position sensor fail on mine when I brought it in for an oil change at closing time, got stuck in the bay hahaha…. I was actually pretty pissed all they would do is push it out into the parking lot… never had a lick of trouble until it died there… true story…

You don't have to lose your customer for life maybe that customer is not ready for such a heavy bill maybe you can break it down in payments and keep that customer for life and still get your money

Another better late than never comment: I have German Sheperd that lives next-door down. Does nothing but yap all day and sometimes at night. The neighbor and I have his big privacy dog-retaining fence between us. Since they moved in the heard of deer that used to come to my yard daily are no longer coming around. Just done a Mitsubishi Lancer 2009 with the big 2.4. You have to pull back the air intake manifold. very similar design. but tighter quarters. Same problem.

Dogs barking and owners not doing something about it is my #1 complaint. I'm autistic and the barking grates my nerves and makes me crazy! I don't understand how these people tolerate it. They have to be controlled for people's sanity. Get a bark collar people, seriously!
