I had a Liberty and I put a FlowCooler water pump in it. That impeller is aluminum.
At first look thought your hat had hi temp silicone on it.. that crap gets everywhere!!!
I think i'd replace the fiberglass impeller with a tougher pump. Maybe not go off-road…

I’m a Mopar guy. I believe those bolts should be 40lbs and there are plenty of aftermarket pumps with a metal impeller.

I saw nothing but the title of the video. Immediately thought " water pump"…I guessed correctly. I own a 2004 Dodge Dakota, which is mechanically identical. Actually many of the parts I got for my truck out of junkyards, I got out of jeep liberty.

Eric, I have a question. Have you ever worked on a 4.2 inline 6 engine with almost all of the head bolts broken? I bought a Trailblaze that way. I looked it up, this is a common problem. I found out GM make a kit to remove them, left-handed drill. Self centering punch and thread chaser. Just wondered if you have done one before and know any tricks? I love your videos. Informs this old man a lot. Been a mechanic since 1969!!
